Duke Brave Realistically, I doubt they will do that, since it wasn’t in the manga at all (and you probably know that they follow the manga more than the 90’s anime ever did). The plot in the manga was very different (and also a whole lot darker imo) from the 90’s anime. Granted, I’ve only read the stars arc and only once, but I don’t recall such scene. But I agree, I’d like to see it in Crystal too, it was one of my favorite scenes in Sailor Stars.

The show didn't do a great job with Venus's personality, especially early on. She should have been the most interesting one, having been a solo crime fighter before joining the others, and having that tragic fake-death + love triangle with Alan/Katarina but then she became a discount "Usagi without a boyfriend". I'm glad the later seasons gave her more attention, because she's probably my favorite character after Luna
Making her like Usagi was intentional. This was meant to be a reference to the way that planet Venus mimicked the waxing and waning phases of the moon, as well as a double reference to the fact that she was, in fact, the decoy Moon Princess in the manga. I believe that making her like Usagi was indeed intentional, to highlight and contrast the two.
