"Moonlight Densetsu" (ムーンライト伝説, lit. "Moonlight Legend") is a song that served as an opening theme for the anime series Sailor Moon.
The original version of the song was released in Japan on March 21, 1992, on a split single by Dali and Misae Takamatsu titled "Moonlight Densetsu / Heart Moving" (ムーンライト伝説/HEART MOVING). The Dali recording of "Moonlight Densetsu" served as the opening theme for the first two seasons of the anime adaptation of Sailor Moon. Another version of "Moonlight Densetsu" by Moon Lips was the opening theme of the next two Sailor Moon anime seasons.

That is so sweet. Make sure your child knows this song when they grow up. My mom used to sing this folk song as lullaby when I was a baby until like 3 years old. I remembered the song and I sang to her when she is sick and need operation several years ago, brought tears to us tho. We're lucky because she is now healthy and well :)

I watched the original Sailor Moon first (the old version). Today I tried watching the 2014 version, and I felt sad because some iconic words were changed. For example, “moon tiara action!” became “moon tiara boomerang!”. And me being a person who memorized the lines, well, I was quite displeased. The opening also changed and I wasn’t used to it. I do like the fact that Sailor moon crystal focuses on the story, but for me I think things escalated to fast. Maybe it was just because I was used to the old Sailor Moon’s pace. In the end, I found myself searching for the old opening and ending song.

FYI, Sailor Moon Crystal is an adaptation of the original manga (which came out before the 90's anime) and her attack in the manga was called Moon Tiara Boomerang. The thing is, you can't expect Crystal to be exactly the same as the 90's anime because then what would be the point. It's a new version for a reason.

to anybody trying to learn to sing it who does not speak Japanese and/or does not have a trained ear when it comes to listening to Japanese... i’d recommend slowing it down to .75x the normal speed, maybe even .50x the normal speed if you’re really struggling. you can hear the specific consonant/vowel emphases much better!
