How to Make German Chocolate Cupcakes

- These cupcakes are SO good! They start with a box cake mix but basically are liking them from scratch once you add in the other ingredients. They are so moist and tender. Then the FROSTING is over the top good!! Pecans and coconut in an ooey gooey frosting that compliments the cupcakes so perfectly!!
Frosting Ingredients:
1 1/2 C granulated sugar
1 1/2 C Evaporated Milk
4 Large Egg Yolks
3/4 C salted butter
1 T vanilla extract
2 1/4 C Sweetened shredded coconut
1 1/2 C chopped pecans
Cake Ingredients:
1 box German Chocolate Cake mix (with no pudding)
1 3.9oz box instant chocolate pudding
1/2 C flour
1/2 C sugar
1 C sour cream
1/4 C vegetable oil
1 1/4 C water
3 Large Eggs
2 t vanilla extract - Розваги

I absolutely do not understand why you would use a cake mix For this recipe. I get that it's easy. But if you are making the frosting from scratch why not the cake as well which has to be better.
@@myVillage2323 thanks for your thoughts. If you listened to my video I said I made a batch completely from scratch but wasnt thrilled with the texture. These.came out FAR better. And I personally know several professional wedding cake makers who exclusively start with a box cake mix
@@IntheKitchenwithKaren Of course I listened to the entire video and yes I heard you say that it just doesn't make sense. The only thing that makes sense is it's easy. Any good cake Maker professional that is would never ever use a box cake mix and charge somebody for that. If they did they wouldn't have repeat business.

Wow Karen 👋 I will be making these. I make muffins or cupcakes ones a week for the guys. These are going to be part of my menu planning. I love evaporated milk in recipes. Katen, I need your expertise/advice on something. I plan on making these cupcakes. I could not locate the D.H. Perfectly Moist cake mix and could only find the D.H. Super Moist, which does include pudding in the mix. I was lucky to even that one in the store. What I want to know is, can I eliminate adding any chocolate pudding altogether since the cake mix I purchased already has it included? Please respond ASAP. Thank you. Your loyal subscriber.
