Wil YuengJust watching you cook is like a fine ballet. The ease with which you cook and talk about food with passion is a show stopper. I made your famous red chily oil. Came out perfect. I got the Gochigaru powder so I am all set with all the ingredients for the Umami powder. You have introduced through your videos some of the best techniques in chinese cooking which really work. Thank you so much for your very entertaining and well thought of videos. I have shared the videos on my FB page and also shared it with my students and my family. Thank you Wil
Very interesting choice of ingridients. I'm not a vegan but when i want to eat vegan stuff i know i must go to this channel to feel satisfied instead of disappointed.
not a vegan here either but love all the great recipes and this channel is definitely one of the best. My entire family loves the roasted spiced chickpeas!
😊 super palatable, healthy, and easy to prepare. Thank you for sharing it ☺️🙏 More power and best of everything in your channel, God bless always Mr chef 🙏
I only have access to portobello mushrooms where I live but I just purchase three large ones in a pack. Maybe I’ll try it with those. Always enjoy your fine presentation! 😸
Lay Ho Ma Wil, so nice to be here ......... a wee special shout out to your amazing knife skills also choice of ingredients so tasty and think this is a must .............. so tasteful and very healthy, tysm for sharing 💙🫶
I just made this. I was a bit hesitant because I didn't like the smell of some of the mushrooms, but I trust Yeung recipes. It ended up being SO DELICIOUS. I made it will whole rice. I boiled the whole rice for about 20 minutes and drained before going on with the recipe. I also baked some chickpeas along with the mushrooms. I didn't have all the ingredients for the urmami spice, but it still came out great. One of the ingredients I did have are peppercorns, which I've never used peppercorns before. I just had some in a container with my bay leaves. They added so much flavor! I'll try to find the other ingredients for the future.
Wow what a wonderful assortment of mushrooms! You are soooo lucky! I love mushrooms but we only have baby bella, button, and shitake. I love oyster mushrooms. As soon as I recover from the flu, I will make this. Thank you for another amazing recipe!!!
I'm really excited to have the noodles and rices with jerked eggplant or spinach pumpkin or breaded mushrooms from the air fryer. I really like this mushroom rice you made . Thanks Yeung !
I think Wil has an army of droolers that watch his fabulous videos. Not only are the videos good, when we make them, atleast when I make it comes out picture and taste perfect.
Looks delish! Technical question: Did you wash all the mushrooms first, or just use them right out of the package. Always wondered about what the recommended procedure is....wash or no wash prior to cooking. Thanks, Will! 🍽
I watched your umami powder vid (your link in the comment). Thank you so much for sharing. I will indeed make this powder as I see me using it in many dishes. I do love fresh shitake mushrooms and I never thought about powdering up the dried shitake to make a seasoning out of it. I can see me using this in rice, soups and salads. thanks again!🤩
Rice dishes can be so amazingly versatile and mushrooms are a powerhouse of nutrition. My partner loves mushrooms and enjoyes rice - I'm gonna' cook this for her next time I find myself in the bad-books 😉
This recipe certainly looks easy to make like many of your other recipes. Last Saturday I made a large batch of one of your veggie noodle stir fries, it lasted me the weekend. I recently sprained my ankle and have been having to lay low for awhile, always looking for recipes that are easy to make and take little time. Wil, do you think you can make some famous Chinese breakfast recipes? I really struggle with finding what to make for breakfast that is both healthy and easy.
Man, I love your channel and the recipes here. It's the first place I go to when I need inspiration. But please provide alternatives for stuff like the umami powder and chilli oil. I do not always have time to go down 2-3 recipes to make something quick and delicious.
That’s it! I’m making this recipe this week. I have yuzu. However, can you recommend a good brand of chile oil? (I don’t to make it.) Any substitute for umani? I thought umani was the same as MSG? Thank you!
Awesome recipe, definitely going to try this! I wonder if toasting rice before adding water would work here. Also, do you mind sharing what knife you are using?
My goodness I would love to start my vegan journey with this dish. Only deterrent... those mushrooms are expensive. I will try it with whatever Whole Foods has available. Thanks for another yummy, easy to make recipe! 😊
This looks so good! Can anybody tell me where you find dark soy sauce? Is it called dark soy sauce? Brand? Link? I haven't found it in any of our local stores. Thank you in advance.
@@YEUNGMANCOOKING Thank you. When I was younger, I thought I needed a different knife for everything in the kitchen. Now, I realize one or two quality knives are all I need. I love your videos. Your soft spoken, keep it simple, approach is refreshing. I can't wait to try your recipes. They look absolutely delicious!🥰
Looks amazing but I'd have to double up with the hot oil. I love spicy food. Have a great week. I know I will because I'll be making this dish along with the hot oil. Take care.
Oh, Wil! This is truly stunning - and I'm betting it tastes 100 times better than it looks which is saying a LOT! Have you ever done a clay pot rice? That bit of rice that is crispy at the bottom reminded me of it! I would miss the Lap Xuong but something tells me you would persuade me to try it without! lol Thanks, for this delicious recipe! =]
It really is so tasty 😁 Not specifically clay pot, however, some of our one pot rice dishes are reminiscent. Hahah and all good to enjoy as you desire 👌🏻
Is it okay to request something? 😅 I went on a trip to San Francisco, and ate at a place called Spicy King in Chinatown. I had their Chongqing cold noodle dish and I’m obsessed. Please help- I can’t stop dreaming of it and need to know how to make it. lol Also, cucumber salad. ❤

Mmmm.. gonna be making this tomorrow or day-after. I'm thinking adding some crunchy peanuts or cashews would make this an AMAZING killer!

This looks yummy. I love mushrooms!! I don't have any fresh ones at home, so will attempt this with mixed dried mushrooms. Hope it turns out good.

They are the best 🙌🏻
Salivating while watching you make this. Can almost smell and taste this. Definitely trying this one
Oh man, you have me drooling with this recipe. I live in a mushroom desert though. Buttons and portabellos are all you can find around here.
Oh darn! The dish will equally be as tasty 🍄👌🏻
After watching "Delicious in Dungeon", I see all these videos in a completely new light LOL.
Why do you make me drool uncontrollably!
.....with EVERYTHING you make?

Beautiful plate. This will be my new staple, but I am not vegan, so I will be adding dungeness crab meat that just came in season. Thank You
More shrooms to the world, it looks delicious

Sounds like a tasty experiment 🙌🏻 It is the chef’s knife from Zwilling. Catch more info in our “One Pan Pasta” episode.
My goodness I would love to start my vegan journey with this dish. Only deterrent... those mushrooms are expensive. I will try it with whatever Whole Foods has available. Thanks for another yummy, easy to make recipe! 😊
You reallly don’t need the background music. Your presentation is its own music and more powerful without the distraction
Oh noooo I'm craving this now and all I have is dehydrated porcini mushrooms 😭😭😭
Delicious!
Shop. Umami seasoning recipe please?
Check out the videos listed in the "In this video section" - he's linked to it - it's titled "This Spice is So Good you'll be running to UR-MAMI".
Target has Mushroom umami seasoning. I put it on everything, except my smoothies. 😂

Just a quick question...
If you could recommend one knife which should I add to my kitchen?
Welcome and happy you are here. We really enjoy using the chef’s knife from Zwilling 👌🏻

Could the rice step be started in a sauté pan and then transferred to a rice cooker to finish the process? Or would that mess up the process?

Looks The Business!
🎉 Looks tasty
It is! 🙌🏻
This looks delicious and easy to make thank you. I’ve been noticing many recipes on UA-cam using 2 kinds of soy sauce. What’s the reason for that?
Dark soy sauce is a bit sweeter and adds that deep dark rich colour and flavour to dishes 👌🏻
@ thank you , good to know 🙂
Is it okay to request something? 😅 I went on a trip to San Francisco, and ate at a place called Spicy King in Chinatown. I had their Chongqing cold noodle dish and I’m obsessed. Please help- I can’t stop dreaming of it and need to know how to make it. lol Also, cucumber salad. ❤
Should I use dark Chinese or Japanese soy sauce?
Yum😊
😎
Yummy 🍄🍄🍄
Yummmmmmm
🙌🏻
What's the difference between regular soy sauce and dark? I can't find dark soy sauce at the grocery store.
I wanted to reach through the screen on this one. I hope I can find the oyster mushrooms as I have yet to taste those😋😋😋😋
Ohhh yes! A must try for sure! Looking forward to hearing what you think 😁
what can i use instead of soy sauce if I don't like soy sauce?
what vegetarian approved protien would you add to this dish?
tofu?
some kind of bean?
They both sound like tasty options 🙌🏻
