Great video Giles. I've been struggling with over rotation in the backswing, my lead arm would stay straight but my trail would flex past 90 degrees and get stuck behind me. Will give these drills a try tomorrow, think it'll help my driver swing too. Keep it up!
Another excellent video Giles! This "straight" arm in the golf swing is something I have been working on together with the folding and unfolding of the right arm! In viewing this video, I find that I will have to work on the "frisbee toss" position more! Well Done Giles! Thumbs Up to You On This One!
Thank you so much John! I think using analogies like the frisbee toss is what we need to do more of the game. It’s an easy way to relate the swing to basic motions
Giles, I hope you don’t get tired of hearing from me but it’s almost uncanny how each time I view one of your videos, it’s always one of the specifics I am having some difficulty with. Irons, driver, setup, finish, posture etc, always spot on and very clearly discussed and more importantly, demonstrated. Thank you very much for assisting this novice US golfer to greatly improve.
Just started golf this summer and a guy at the range saw my horrid swing with little to no contact. He proceeded to recommend your channel and you have helped me out so much!! Great video
Thanks for the video. I especially liked the idea of rotation around the forearm and not the wrist extension after impact. However, would this cause more of a hook and if it does how do you make it to a draw. Thanks again and keep up the good work.
I have struggled with the driver. Discovered my contact is better and more consistent when pull thru with the left. However, creates a push. I feel your left arm thumb analogy for release will help me
@@Gilesgillgolf I’m not claiming either of you are more right. It’s all about feel and what works. I was just chiming in with what I heard from Dechambeau as an additional way to look at it if not quite at the target didn’t work.
There needs to be more video on bent elbow in the left arm my arm has been broken in 3 places by the elbow which makes it almost impossible for me to keep left arm straight need help
Please Like and Subscribe as it massively helps out the channel! Thank you so much for all your support!!
By far the most helpful person I’ve found for swing tips on UA-cam. Really appreciate what you do
Thank you so much! Glad you’re finding value in my videos

Amazing! The two backswing drills should be perfect in helping you achieve that rotation with good arm structure

Thanks incredible to hear! I hope my videos have helped
Thanks Giles. One of the best on UA-cam. I’ll be trying this drill at the range prior to my round today. 👍😎🇦🇺

Thanks Gill, good work over the left arm release , I told friends about your channel and they like it. Thanks Gill.

Only if you scoop and the ball
Excellent! Really well explained 👏
Glad it was helpful!
excellent drill idea that first one, never seen that before!
Amazing to hear it’s new & you haven’t seen it before

It will definitely help you square the face
In the setup should the left elbow point out toward the target?
Not quite towards the target as an average but it depends on a variety of factors
According to Dechambeu it should. His swing looks unorthodox, but he’s a true student of the game.
@@tthreat23 some golfers it will but others it won’t. Depends on if you want to hit draws or fades & your range of motion

It’s a case of the same principles but accept the arm will be bent
