I feel like Margret was almost too normal for them, where as CJ gets down and weird right with them. It’s not a horrible thing to not be a weirdo but Margaret always seemed like she had a clear future, the others were far more interesting and you never really knew where they could wind up
Margaret was too normal for the group and show.
That might be the best way to describe it. Margaret is deadass a normal person with goals and ambitions. Good for her but doesn't fit the group

Yeah, for sure. The way Mords fumbles this is so infuriating but his more minor fumbles are relatable to me.
"You dont drink from the cup. YOU DRINK FROM THE SKY!!!" on every sip was so funny🤣
the way that they go on a tangent right as one of the biggest moments in (possibly even the show) is happening is funny, especially since they hadn't gone on one in a while, its just funny that it was timed as poorly as possible lol.

Margaret will always be better than CJ for me. I understand why people prefer CJ and don’t blame them for it. That’s just my preference every time I rewatch the show

I'm convinced that the people who like Margret more for Mordecai only think that way for two reasons.
1. She was the 1st girl, and unfortunately a lot of people have 1st girl bias.
2. Her and Mordecai are both birds.

Remember people its how the creator and others wrote Mordecai in the regular show to make him terrible at relationships cause "realism" like someone could feck up so bad in real life when not possible

Yeah, I agree with Ruff on the CJ fitting the group more. CJ and Mordo had more chemistry. Although I relate with Mordecai a lot. Especially his relationships. I mean, I haven't been in a lot and don't fumble that badly but I fumble.

Am I like the only one who doesn't feel anything about CJ. She just feels like a substitute for Margaret. For me it feels like writers are trying so hard to make us like CJ, they even making characters say that. And despite all of that she is here just to let us know that Mordecai and Margaret isn't working.
Also if person doesn't fit in in the group, especially if group doesn't fit anywhere themselves, it doesn't mean that they should be removed.

Are you forgetting how mordecai kissed Margaret while he was dating CJ?
How he was a jerk to his mom?
How he interrupted Muscle Man and Starla's wedding?
Mordecai lets his love life interfere with everything, he's so back and forth with Margaret and CJ, whereas Rigby develops a healthy and happy relationship with Eileen, graduates high school, and works on fixing some of his problems as a person
Is CJ better than Margareth? Yes, but I don't think she "broke" Mordecai, he felt insecure and didn't know how to deal with his feelings and was still an asshole to others (Especially rigby) and in the end he screwed everything up, the only thing Margareth did was end the relationship right at the beginning so she could follow her dream (she did other things later on but It wasn't a big deal), in my opinion Mordecai himself is the problem in the relationships themselves (I won't give details because there would be spoilers).
