Nice to hear! :) So getting a Freelancer's Guild as Stronghold would actually influence, even though you wouldn't reep benefits from the building itself. Also, some buildings are just cheap, usually 1000 gold. It rakes up damage on the turrets during an enemy siege - Might be decisive, or not. :)

Hey, that depends on what kind of strategy you decide to go for. In early game Fortress in Heroes 3, I would argue that you go for heroes in the Tavern that has Serpent Flies on them, and divide them to give them over to each hero. Weather the Gnolls, Lizards or Flies are upgraded doesn't really matter that much. What I mean by that, is that you will be off fine with the unupgraded unit any how. The economic investment to Upg. a dwelling is big. Rather instead focus on getting heroes and ony things that you really need. What you really need, is not that easy to know. Some build paths require you to get certain buildings, like Recource Silo to get Mighty Gorgons... It's just not worth it to get them. To get back on the topic, should I have gone for either of the Tier 1-3 lvl creatures on Fortress first, Lizard Warriors, Dragon Flies, Gnoll Marauders in that order. Go Upg. Gnoll Hut if you plan on going a Drakon, because he has Gnoll Specialty. At least, that's my opinion on it. :) Lizard Warriors are tougher, Dragon Flies are super fast plus the Weakness spell, Gnoll Marauders gets 1+ in Attack and Defence Skill and the Captain's Quarters building increases Gnolls Growth by 6 pr week. Hello Kraghen! Thanks for commenting on the video! I'm not entirely sure what you mean by salami in the context of Heroes of Might and Magic. Could you explain what you mean?
I'm not sure what you mean by that. I could assume what you are talking about, and attempt to give you my thought process around this; I am a big fan of games that have a lot to them. HotA is just that. It takes what SoD had, and worked to make a continuation that didn't feel off, but tribute the classic Heroes 3 that I love. This was done by a community that want to see more possibilities, as far as I can tell. And that is good - More Heroes! :) My main motive for giving the community a video about how to get better at Heroes 3, is because I thought it was something that could be helpful to people. Because every player is on a different skill level, the knowledge that I share resonates differently from person to person. No one have to play like the way I do. I like optimization. I also like art. Because I do speedruns of the game, I select only the fastest unit to be on my hero. When I take time to listen to music, and enjoy Heroes 3 as an experience, I get chills all over my body. I love being inside a Fantasy world! HotA can be played whichever way you want. There is no right and wrong in how to play the game. I realized that there are skilled players out there that are very good at the game. The more skilled players get, the more of a competition there will be, and that will result in growth in the community. I think that is good.
@@VegardKristoffersen Hota is just a main game for pvp community, this is the one all homm3 player play. Tips themselves, at least form a viewpoint of someone that got into hota pvp (though i wouldn't even call myself begginer, herose are rly hard and unforgiving in pvp), felt really basic, not wrong, and some importnat ones, mostly correct, but basic, like first jebus template game basic. The biggest flaws for me were the exemplary battles shown, you were talking about abusing Ai while taking alot of unnecessary, and avoidable damage, especially the crypt and dwarven treasury ones. I get they probably weren't very serious, but i feel like they didn't prove the point. The other thig for me would be the combat setup itself, playing gridless is objectively wrong, when making tutorial video it gives a bad impression. Nonetheless it was a nice video and i really aknowledge the effort put into it, and totally appreciate wholesome polish/russian greatings
@@Antalijczyk Hello and thank you for adding some valuable pointers to the conversation. True, I cannot speak for everyone to say what HotA really is. I say it is a fan made mod. Since I posted the video in 2020, I sort of assume that the viewer has a notion of the way it can be played. Not all Heroes 3 players play to win pvp. Heck, I don't think it even comes as a suggestion to early players of the Heroes series? When creating the video, I had a lot in mind. One was to make sure it looked decent. In case some totally new to the game saw the video, I wanted them to see it without the grid. So, yes in some footage I turned it off. Haha, the battles. Yes, they were not played the optimal way as one would say and I was totally aware of that as I was shooting the video. Don't worry, details like this are not nitpicking! :) Thank you for noticing details. In the last part of the video I play as Cove, to save the newest faction for the gameplay. Here I play with full movement speed in battle and play more as I would normally. As stated earlier, I just wanted the new viewer to like the 1999 style graphics like I do, and therefore not blocking the battlefield with the yellow colored grid. :)

Tip number one is good but I always found super time consuming to switch slow units to another hero and back. Same goes for 1 stacks. I rather don't use slow units or just ignore it.
That is a great tip, not using slow units or just ignore them. Thanks for sharing!
As I said, first tip is really good, if you are superpatient and want to have a perfect game. I don't play impossible so I skip this approach.
@@Valdore1000 Makes sense! Do the thing that works for you! In the end, its about having fun playing the game.
im 16 and i played this game when i was like 3 and still play it to this day, also wtf only 113 subs u deserve more
Hello SinzeR! Thanks for the comment! :) Oh, since 3 years old? Great games are easy to remember. :D I remember I played Super Mario Bros 3. when I was very little, and I like that game too.
I dunno about the subs really, hard to say. Nice that you think it is good. :p Gotta work hard to be successful I guess?
@@VegardKristoffersen well my dad played it since it came out and when i was little he let me play so thats why i remember it :D
@@presko I think that was a happy childhood, wasn't it, SinzeR? Thanks for sharing that, your dad is cool! :)
@@VegardKristoffersen ofcourse, he even plays it to this day
@@presko That is awesome
i feel like the guide is just flying over my head
Hey, thanks for the comment. How can I make the tips so that theire easier to get? :)
I made the guide for beginners and intermediate players. As a long time player of HoMM3, I created these tips. I have also played Horn of the Abyss, and I see a lot of people playing it on UA-cam as well. :) If there is anything that you see I can do better, please let me know!
Awesome video! Subbed:D
Thank you! :)
Thanks for всем привет in the beginning, made me smile 🐢
Hey, so glad to hear! :) Could you hear an accent?
@@VegardKristoffersen yes I can hear it, but you almost got it, good job man
@@simonikonnikov Haha, well ok! Glad I know it, so I have to work on my Russian pronunciation. :)
It is probably self explanatory, but the reason why I made an introduction in Russian as well as Polish is because this game seems very popular in those particular countries.
English is a common language on the Internet.
Hopefully I will be able to implement more from the Slavic language family in the future. :)
Good job, man!
Thank you I appreciate that! :) Did you come for some new tips you didn't know of before, or are you an experienced HoMM3 player that know more strategies used online in HotA PvP?
@@VegardKristoffersen I'm a long time fan but pretty casual player. So the tips were useful.
@@MK-xm2nh Ok, thanks for the reply. Glad to hear it!
Ok that sub count should be higher
Hello Tud! Thanks for the comment! :) Well, feel free to share it with a friend so that could come closer to reality! :) I need to work for it tough. What type of content could I create so that it is enjoyed by the people I reach?
Really great guide Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it!

I hope you find some of the tips helpful!
TIL that the HOTA version of the game is made by polish devs, love to see polish stuff in game communities! :p
Thanks. Btw where can I download this version of HOMM3? I use Ubisoft version which does not show unit waiting/turning list in battles.
Hello! Ubisoft owns the Heroes franchise so they released a re-release of the first with better graphics. However it lacks features. I would go to gog.com and get Complete edition. HD+ mod is a free adon that gives the unit waiting/turning list in battles: sites.google.com/site/heroes3hd/
I love this! Sub for sure.
Thank you! :)
Why did you dont use the hex in Battle?
Hello Chofa! Thank you for the comment! :) Because it looks aesthetically better. It works better with it on, and I play it with hex on because it is easier to see the hexagon spots. If chess didn't have those tiles, it would be confusing.
So hex on. :)
nice vid helped me alot
Glad it helped, dude
I think there is an asterisk on screen more time then not
Hey, thanks for the comment.
I wanted this video to be good, my English pronunciation was not the best when I was recording the sentences. When I realised this more clearly when in editing, I thought some words sounded unclear. Therefore on some words, I put the word on screen with the asterisk to make sure the viewer would properly understand what I said. :)
A thing I could work on is to get better at choosing appropriate words in my vids. Some words looks good on paper, but sounds awkward when spoken out loud, like "AI". :p I noticed that.
Tq for the info. New subscriber here. ;)
Hello Fei AMW! Thank you for the comment! :) I appreciate it!
what mod do you use for the hd?
Hey Adam! Thanks for the comment! :) I use HD+ Mod. It is free and lets you install it over your game (not HD Edition 2015 though) - Here is the link: sites.google.com/site/heroes3hd/

Wierzę, że Heroes 3 Gold Edition jest tym samym, co Heroes 3 Complete. Czyż nie? Dziękuje za komentarz!
I believe that heroes 3 gold edition is the same as heroes 3 complete. Is it not? Thank you for the comment!
@@VegardKristoffersen wiesz na płytę to zawsze możesz wziąć gdziekolwiek, oraz ja tak ogólnie wolę gry na płytach, ale pod innymi względami to chyba nic innego. Nie wiem czy w complete jest język polski

Yes, that is a good point. Do you use gog.com as well? Thank you for the information about that! Having a digital copy of Heroes 3 can be very handy to have!
Thanks!
Welcome!
Knallbra video! Har også spilt dette spillet siden det kom ut i 1999, men først nylig at jeg bestemte meg for å bli bedre i spillet, og denne videoen hjalp
Takk for det! :) Bra å fortsette spillinga! ;)
The number of buildings you have in your town affects the damage output of the towers?! That's so not intuitive and yet another hidden mechanic in HoMM3. Haha!
Are you a ghost or a sperm? Nah.. Just joking, really liked the video, keep up the good work :D
Ahahah :D No I'm just a ghost that forgot to bring my outline XD but thanks :p
Neither, it's milk escaping a glass
Jeg synes også salami er sejt
Hello Kraghen! Thanks for commenting on the video! I'm not entirely sure what you mean by salami in the context of Heroes of Might and Magic. Could you explain what you mean?
@@VegardKristoffersen i have no clue why i commented that, nonethelesss have a good day
lol play hota like a normal person.
I'm not sure what you mean by that. I could assume what you are talking about, and attempt to give you my thought process around this;
I am a big fan of games that have a lot to them. HotA is just that. It takes what SoD had, and worked to make a continuation that didn't feel off, but tribute the classic Heroes 3 that I love. This was done by a community that want to see more possibilities, as far as I can tell. And that is good - More Heroes! :)
My main motive for giving the community a video about how to get better at Heroes 3, is because I thought it was something that could be helpful to people.
And i know this is a huuuuge nitpicking but picking up resources diagonally was hard to bare xD.
One of the things I love about this game is that it isn't balanced. Some things are OP. It was never intended for intense PvP
Всем привет! Что происходит
