So happy that Michelle Yeoh from my hometown of little Ipoh Malaysia won the oscars. For the first time in 95 years a Chinese won, her words of being given an opportunity to be on the table is heartbreaking, as a Chinese Asian I feel the same, living in a White world we have to be so much better and try so much harder just to get recognition, is so sad, it shouldn't have to be that way. Hollywood should reflect the multicultural world we live in and select lead roles from a diverse section of actresses and not just hone on into one race. Michelle rightly spoke to all the minority sections of society
Was such an amazing night to see one of my fav actresses Jamie Lee finally get her turn I was crying was such a precious moment for us fans to be apart of after all these years. Seeing Michelle win was beautiful and her speech made me cry. To see Ben and Ke win was so precious specially after they both took a break from acting for awhile and came back stronger than ever. Then lastly the reunion at the end with Ke and Harrison was absolutely adorable ke was like a lil kid again hugging Dr. Jones and for us fans it was such a touching moment to see after all these years. Dreams really did come true for the underdogs finally and I’m so glad to be able to witness those moments ❤

A couple of observations: The love for All Quiet was not a BAFTA thing; it won 4 Oscars!! Narrative, narrative, and momentum matters!! A wacky, sci-fi, comedic and heartfelt movie can win big. Can't wait for the next season.
Hey Evan, it’s an odd story, I acquired it at friends Wedding who had one of those photo booths with all the props you can use in the photographs. They weren’t gonna use the props after the wedding so they let me take the Oscar as a memento of the day. I asked them where they got it from and they said you can buy it on Etsy. The top half is made of a plastic mould but the base is wood. 😁 x

Lot of people seemed disappointed that Jamie Lee won because she was a nepo baby. But to me she has been always a great actress and she well deserved this win as much as Angela Basett did.
Nobody was more deserving to win an Oscar than Brendan Fraser winning the Academy Award for Best Actor since his 30+ years of entertaining and outstanding performances with movies like Encino Man, Airheads, George Of The Jungle, Blast From The Past, Bedazzled, The Mummy trilogy, the 2004 remake of Crash, and The Whale. As a proud member of the Brenaissance, i was more confident in the possibility of him winning the Oscar and never doubted him for a second since he was first announced for the nomination. He’s been to hell and back but at least the academy was able to restore my faith in the system so that i would be more than interested in watching the Oscars next year. #AcademyAwardWinner #BrendanFraser 👏🏻🎬🎥🏆
When JLC was announced as the winner, I kinda figured Michelle would win, and when EEAAO won original screenplay, I knew the race was over. Everything else would play out for EEAAO exactly according to the SAGS and guilds wins. I also figured after JLC's win, Brendan Fraser would win best actor.

While the show it self was good, there were quite a few times I was just thinking "what on earth were they Thinking". That includes hair and makeup. This was so much the wrong winner. And that goes for costumes as well Also Luke, when was the last time a movie got so much love?
Gravity in 2013 was the last time a movie got 7 Oscars. Before that, Slumdog Millionaire got 8 in 2008. However in 2009 they changed the vote tallying process to a preferential system (so you vote for all films in your preferred order) and that made huge sweeps far less likely.
Yeah the last best picture winners to win 7 was Shakespeare in love but slumdog millionaire did even better and got 8 but that was back in 2009. Technical movies sometimes sweep in tech categories like gravity (7), mad max fury road and dune (6). Thanks for watching and commenting Louise x

As a proud member of the Brenaissance, i was more confident in the possibility of him winning the Oscar and never doubted him for a second since he was first announced for the nomination. When JLC was announced as the winner, I kinda figured Michelle would win, and when EEAAO won original screenplay, I knew the race was over. Everything else would play out for EEAAO exactly according to the SAGS and guilds wins. I also figured after JLC's win, Brendan Fraser would win best actor.

Hahahaha it was actually gifted to me at my friends wedding. They had one of those photo booths with all the props and that was one of the props. They let me keep it afterward. I gave it a good home. You can get it on Etsy apparently x
While the show it self was good, there were quite a few times I was just thinking "what on earth were they Thinking". That includes hair and makeup. This was so much the wrong winner. And that goes for costumes as well

Gravity in 2013 was the last time a movie got 7 Oscars.
Before that, Slumdog Millionaire got 8 in 2008. However in 2009 they changed the vote tallying process to a preferential system (so you vote for all films in your preferred order) and that made huge sweeps far less likely.
Yeah the last best picture winners to win 7 was Shakespeare in love but slumdog millionaire did even better and got 8 but that was back in 2009. Technical movies sometimes sweep in tech categories like gravity (7), mad max fury road and dune (6). Thanks for watching and commenting Louise x

I was so happy for Jamie Lee Curtis and for such an odd performance winning. However my vote went to Angela Bassett and I was super bummed for her, especially after seeing her face.
Yeah she wasn’t happy about the outcome but at least she was real about how she felt. Hopefully this isn’t the last we see if her at the Oscar’s. Let’s just hope it’s not another 29 years until she gets her dues. X
