How u go on a 10 year break and come back Picasso
I think she was processing all she learned from her first few years during those 10 years.
I draw too Soo when i take a break i become much better
Perhaps I should stop drawing for ten years and see the improvement. Don't think it'll work for me though -I start to get rusty after a mere ten days!
I dont buy it 😂
Sorry but not Picasso..believe me you can do this to only dedication and studying the materials. For some it takes years for others not that long. But art is different it is all about bringing your own technique and concepts. Become your own signature.
When I was 11 years old I wanted to be an artist for a living. Drawing and painting was something I always enjoyed doing. My dad told me one day I would never be a successful artist. I would only be successful after death like my favorite artist Vincent Van Gough so I stopped drawing and paiting. It's been a little over 10 years and I'm starting to be inspired to draw again just for fun too. I just got a new sketch and a mind full of thing to draw. Sorry for the long comment, but I felt the need to share. 😅 Thanks for sharing your Journey and most importantly don't give up!
Lol
Why does everyone apologise for long comments

That's just because you don't practice. I've been drawing for a few years now, and my art went from trash to something I can live with. I assure you, practice really does help.
😆😆👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I am so greedy when it comes to buying equipment too, so that combined with losing interest in drawing and playing with other hobbies instead doesn't really push me in the correct direction .. I could just order a tablet, but what if I just won't end up using it .. pretty much what happened to my keyboard and guitar and I bought them like a decade ago and just play on them once in awhile.
Even If I Practice I Still Can't Do It So I Now Use Tracing Paper
I came here for motivation but decided to take a break for 10 years.

Its very hard to believe......
Sugar Baby It's not really. You'd be surprised at how often that happens. Our brain isn't fully developed yet, so when it is we are able to do stuff which we thought we couldn't before. Without practise, my drawings improved from when I was 8 to the time I reached age 15. It'll still keep getting better though.

@@tuna1051 bruh you stupid.. she said that she took a break 10 years.. and then her skills got better lol
I think that artistic ability is more to do with the mind. If you draw everyday you develop certain muscle memory but if you take a long break you can still visualise certain things and you can practice in your head by imagining which places to give more depth and shading. Art isn't all about constant physical practice, it is about your depth of understanding and how well you understand how to place colour and texture. Practicing is necessary and helps put your understanding into a physical product, but art isn't just about whats on the paper, it is the whole idea and understanding of the world around you. To be able to interpret something into art, you must understand the features and shapes in whatever it is that you are creating. People seem baffled by your improvement after such a long break but its not that strange. It proves that you improved your understanding during that time and you clearly still thought in the way of an artist. When you went back to drawing, you were able to finally release your understanding and then it flourished. You then proceeded to improve through practicing and that made your art even more accurate and advanced. Seeing your improvement was very inspiring.
I myself am an aspiring artist and i really love watching videos like this, showing people's improvement.
I took a 34 year break. I was 15 when I stopped. I'm 49 now. I believe what you say is true. When i picked up a pencil at my grandmothers house last week I honestly did not even believe how much better without practice I had become. Still a LONG LONG way from where I'd like to be, but my passion was ignited again, one that had been extinguished by a few well meaning art teachers in my youth.
Exactly!! I stopped drawing for 6 months and my art has massively improved!!
What u said is true, very very true,
Hasta
This is incredibly accurate, thanks for putting it in words
So inspiring! I’ve drawn all through my youth, went to art school and then, nothing. 35 years later I’m opening up my sketchbook and taking baby steps.
It just kills me to think where I would be in my progress today had I not stopped
I understand your pain
you have the entire rest of your life to learn!! rest assured you'll get there. plus in all realness the older you get the more disciplined you become and because of this the faster you improve
How is it that the drawings immediately following a 10 year break are so much better? Surely there must have been some practising going on during the 10 years?
I do not see such a difference but if you do I guess it is because I was 10 years older :) I did not practice during the break, I remember I drew about 3 pictures that I do not have anymore but it cannot be counted as a practice at all.
I agree, I was wondering the same thing! I thought maybe immediately following the break you took a class or something. The drawing following the break did seem much better than where you left off! Very cool video seeing the transformation!
I think as one grows older one sees more of the essential that is so important in arts. I ve noticed the same thing about myself. I could not practice for a long time due to “life” but when i get back to it i feel an improvement. It s weird but its a thing....
Daniela if its inside you you never forget

** My 10 year break - Sometimes we might get better at something only by getting older / growing up even without a proper practice (by getting more confident lines, seeing things differently, using little different techniques, using also shading instead of just outline lines, etc.). Wow!! You could sell your drawings if you wanted to, they’re really good and beautiful!
OMG TYSM FOR THE HEART!!!!!!!
My progress:
2000: Stickman drawings
2019: Getting satisfied by watching drawing videos
😁
BTW the video was awesome and it has inspired me to improve my drawing skills!
I had a question:
What's up with those square grids that you drew in your drawings?
Ramkrishna joshi that’s funny😄 Thank you so much, I’m glad you like it😊
This is pure talent OMG ❤️❤️😍😊
I can’t even draw a perfect straight line
Jessica Edit’s 1. Talent means you were born with something you’re good at
2. Dont insult yourself to compliment the artist because it can be awkward for artist and its disrespectful to yourself
3. Nobody can draw perfect straight lines, thats what rulers are for
Pepperoni Pancakes you must be fun at parties
Pepperoni Pancakes I totally agree😊👍
Jessica Edit’s no worries, lines and circles are very hard to draw. It is impossible to draw lerfect line or a circle😊 moreover drawing is a skill and it can be developed so you can try to learn it😊🍀
Nobody can..?
This motivate us to draw and not to lose courage.👍

What did you do during the break?
How did you get better at drawing all of a sudden?
Stephanie Emmanuel
Sometimes you just get better by growing older.
As an "artist" taking a break helps a lot for me :')
And surprisingly your art does get better after the break. So yep
Oh also there was a study that when you practice in your head its still count as practice. I think TED-Ed has a video on that
If you keep thinking about shapes you cna get better at drawing aswell. You can daydream about you drawing and understand shapes better I guess. Same goes for 3D modeling and animation
i cant really take a break even for a week or something because i always have this sudden urge to draw even when im at the toilet or somewhere else so i have to bring my sketchbook everywhere lol oops
(My art is not realistic) but I take breaks a lot for many reasons: Busy with school or having art block. And I figured that having art block for me means that I do not want to draw because I know my drawings need improvement as I keep seeing other people's art which tend to be much better than mine. During the break, I just keep seeing art on Instagram and after the break, I realize that I'd become better. It is weird. Idk if my theory is correct or not.
i thought to myself, dang these are super good
then i realised i was only at 3 minutes in
:D that is so sweet, thanks! :)

The ones they drew when it was 2000.
All better than anything I can do....
It's amazing how you drew all these pictures, when I draw my first picture, which was a request from my relative when I said I love to draw. It was more like a challenge that she gave to me, i decided to draw and it didn't go so well that she teased me and then I decided to not to draw again but when I watched this it gave me a inspiration to draw again thanks a lot☺☺☺☺
I m just a beginner in sketching and for me her paintings are lile blessings,so awesome,so beautiful. She is like goddess compared to what i can draw😂😂..I hope I could be like her someday.

This is the most inspiring art video I’ve ever watched in my life. Thank you so much for creating and sharing it. It feels kind of life changing actually- for the first time ever I feel moved to draw a little bit each day, and not bail if things don’t turn out the way I’d like. Thank you. 🙏🏼🌹
I once went abroad for a year and when I came back, my friend who could hardly draw a stick figure before had learnt to do photorealistic drawings of faces. I'm a good artist as a whole but her progress completely floored me! It's amazing what people can achieve with hard work and determination 😊
D K yeah same here, some people say I’m “gifted” but I’m like ‘nahhh’ in my head😂
Nah mate, that's pure talent. Talentless people like us cant do shit about it
@@bigdipper1578 that's what lazy people say
@@bigdipper1578 Copying my comment:
What you call talent can easily be learned. I mean there's a book about that "Artistic vision" (Drawing on the right side of the brain". And if someone is better than another person with a same amount of practice, that's only because some people learn faster. It has nothing to do with talent. And even creativity is something that can you develope, because creativity needs to be fed, so the more art you see or copy etc, the more creative your art work will be. It's just stupid to tell someone they are talented, when they worked for it long hours for years. Only hardworking people can become an artist and it has nothing to do with talent. Oh, and copying and using a reference is still not the same.
@olivi doen It depends on what kind of realistic paintings you want to draw. If you want to draw from imagination, you have to learn a lot of things, like perspective, anatomy, etc. I would recommend Ctrl Paint and Drawabox lessons. If you just want to copy the best way is to read the "Drawing on the right side of the brain" by Betty Edwards. You can buy it, but it can be downloaded from the internet. After you learnt the fundamentals, learn some techniques, such as charcoal, graphite, white pencil on black paper, etc. It is all about the amount of practice that you put in. If you are losing your motivation watch some progress videos. My favourite artist is ZHC, it is insane how much learned in a few years. Good luck with your journey, I hope you will start drawing.
Edit: That is not a problem that you are left handed.
I could see the moment shading clicked in your brain. Cause it's a really hard concept for some people to learn but once you do, it's hard to forget.
It is DIFFICULT. T-T I need helppp, shading is my BIGGEST struggle 😭😭
I so agree Cat415 - once you have it, you view everything differently. When I saw the recent drawings, I could see the hrs of layers she had added to produce the realism. I’m still learning myself, I’ll always be learning I hope, but shading and building a piece slowly are definitely the difference between “not so bad” and “wow”.
@@kylieb4836 absolutely! I mean you really even start to notice it in the world around you like you never did before. Just takes a whole lot of time and practice to get it right 😊
After 5 years of not drawing I've decided to start again and this is so motivating
My dad was an artist when the time I saw his drawing that make me fall in love . My family doesn't support me in drawing 😔 my father leave this beautiful talent because of some tragic happened to our family . But I still work for it no matter how long it takes . By watching your video, makes me so inspired .
Thanks sis 😍💖
Trust me, your parents will only support you no matter what you do, what you say or how you act. That's their role, don't ever stop doing what you want to do. We're all different, we all have different families, we all want different things, your parents will disagree for maybe half the things you will say and want. It's time to step up and not to take no bullshit no more hun, otherwise you won't ever get anywhere in life because we're all damned to unfairness. Life is full of it. Doesn't matter who you are, if you like drawing you go drawing girl! Or don't pay any heed of wat i just said after all I'm only 15 but I've seen life in all it's ways possible. Good Luck :-)

Find things that you love drawing, it helps. And the more you do and try to redo things from life the more u will get better. Start simple and expand! Believe in yourself, art is a skill and like all skill yo gotta work for em to improve. :)
We believe in you
Never compare yourself to others, you're gonna be in that stage sooner in life. All you need is to take time, and let yourself develop. All great artist also experienced failures and low self esteem towards their skills but it's normal ;)

To get photorealistic sketch you need to start the shading with H series graphite pencils and work your way up to 6B or 8B It takes a lot of time and patience Also the paper surface and thickness matters when building layers of graphite like Bristol Vellum 100 lb
