I had the pleasure of watching him perform and shared a few beers with him. It was amazing how he could play with his hand upside down on the frets. He once played as he walked out the side door of the Firehall and then came back in without skipping a beat. Awesome musician!
Sadly, I never fully appreciated Jeff until after he was gone. Then I kept finding these kick-ass tunes on UA-cam and I thought, how the hell could I have missed out like that!
Man, Jeff Healey could "whup the hell" outta that guitar and SING, and this was a great tribute to Spirit/Randy California! wow wow this is totally groovin, absolutly the best version of this tune i ever heard, to say jeff is blind is meaningless. he excels at everyrthing he does, just wanted to tell you jeff your an outstanding citizen, and a huge credit to all that have their owns challenges to persue in life thanx jeff and crew for an awesome tune, almost as good as spirits version but very close PEACE and god bless you guys
SO TRUE... Liked listening to some of his mainstream tracks (radio stuff..) but I just had no idea that he was all that I have discovered.. truely an under appreciated and super talented MASTER.. RIP Jeff
I remember photographing the band in Toronto and seeing those guys on the scene a lot.hey were always low key but excellent guys to hand with. hey somehow made you feel special and welcome. Really brings tears to my eyes now.
you were well worth all the miles we travelled to so many towns and cities to watch you play bud..... truly world class but not only as a musician but as the person you were.. bless buddy!!!

I heard this on the radio by Spirit yesterday morning, and I couldn't place where I knew this song from. I finally came across this video, and it all came back to me. I watched this concert (or another concert from this era) back in '95 or '96 and hadn't heard it since (to my knowledge). It just shows how unforgettable great music can be. Great stuff!

No I believe that he was blind at birth. If not as a child. His successes should be a lesson to all that any and all things are possible no matter were you are in life .
