1989 sitting in a bar in downtown Calgary, Alberta with my best friend watching Jeff perform a little gig. After the show he walked over to our table with a friend helping him and asked if he could sit down for a drink. We talked with him for a half hour or so and we left thinking it wasn't such a big deal. Years later I still listen to him and play along. Thanks for the inspiration and music Jeff.
I’m not a Calgarian by birth, but by choice(many years later, half my life here now). Wish I’d had such a privilege. Jeff deserves to be recognized more. An amazing Canadian performer.
Abraços do Sul do Brasil.
What a wonderful privilege in retrospect. He draws those hidden emotions out of me. And here doing a Neil Young song... This is such a great cover of one of Neil's best songs. Did they ever perform this one together??
The mere fact that Jeff taught himself to play guitar the way he did was nothing short of amazing. Stevie Ray Vaughn even said he thought Jeff was probably the greatest guitar player he had ever heard. That's pretty damn solid right there. R.I.P. Jeff .
I had the good fortune to see Jeff Healey live at the Long Beach Blues Fesitval might have been like 2007 (whoops it was 2002). He came out playing his guitar on his lap like he did. I swear his guitar sound live was incredible. I kid you not, I had goose bumps all over and for some reason my eyes leaked tears all over my face.. He played as the years go passing by by the great albert king.. He was a legend.... much love to Jeff Healy.....
Jeff Healey is an Icon and if you haven’t experienced his music, we’ll then, you must, if you want to reach the pinnacle of music ! Jeff made us alive. Try it !
This incredible music is for old men like me from days long gone, with my beloved lady in bed and my devoted dog guarding her, as I sit here alone the foothills, drinking my beer and reliving the incredible moments of my younger years! Music is ageless! Time marches on!
If all this guy had was that rich, soulful voice, that would have been enough to front any band. The truth is that he wrote some great song, and played guitar quite unlike anyone else. His "All Along The Watchtower" still makes me tingle from head to toe, though I've heard it a thousand times now. RIP big guy. One of the best of us.
Wow Jeff Healey, he was so underrated even in his prime. I met him about twelve years ago, he was one of the nicest and friendliest people i've ever met. So called musicians today don't have a 50th of the heart and soul or talent he had. RIP buddy
I played in a rock outfit in Houston for yrs. When we weren't playing we were watching other acts & guitarists to the point of boredom. But when I got a backstage pass to watch Jeff Healey it was like something I'd never seen before. It brought tears to my eyes.
Holy...fucking...shit... I watched Jeff rock in Roadhouse but I had no idea how many brass balls this guy was carrying. Fucking awesome!!! Neil Young needs to bow and give praise to this artiste. Healey turned a hurricane into a cyclone.
I saw this guy play in Santa Fe New Mexico. The best concert I have ever been to. He's even better live than on CD. He was playing in a little bar similar to the one in the movie Roadhouse. Fantastic voice and his skills with the guitar are amazing. It's too bad he passed away.
I have Goosebumps as I write this. Rest in peace Jeff Healey. You were never in the same room and you never walked on the same dirt as the rest of us mortals
That is such a moving glimpse into Jeff Healey's life it makes me feel such joy but at the end, His guitar falls silent, & my eyes grow damp, so sad, what an amazing person , God rest your gentle soul Jeff , , you will be missed, , ,
Jeff Healy, may God give you everlasting peace. You filled the world with your beautiful soul & extraordinary musicianship. You are a national treasure for Canada & all people who love music. Thank you for sharing your gift of music, your songs, your voice & incredible guitar playing. Your star shines brightly.
i was shocked when i have heard him first time in my life. it was over 30 years ago and still i love him. one of the most underrated guitarist of all the time.
I saw Jeff play here in Toronto and was an instant fan. Man he can play that guitar like it was an extension of his body. An awesome talent and truly one of the best guitar players ever, a real Canadian icon and we as Canadians love him and are blessed to have him. When he passed my wife and 2 boys went to the Parklawn Cemetery sought out his resting place and put some flowers by his side. I left him a pic, so he can play on!! Love you buddy Jeff and thank you for just being you!
What an amazing cover. Before hearing this I always thought it was a great song by Neil Young. This gives it a new light. Absolutely Wonderful job Jeff.
It's over a year ago since Jeff Healey left us and this video is a moving tribute to one of the worlds gifted artists whose life was taken way too soon. RIP Jeff Healey
Jeff walked down Minstrel Drive everyday after high school, the street I lived on growing up, to Bonnyview, the street he lived on back then, carrying his guitar with him, every time, cane in the other hand, carefully making his way down the street. I got to see him open a show in Toronto for Jeff Beck and Stevie Ray Vaughan. I thought he was in good company opening for those 2 acts, belonging along with them. If you liked good guitar playing you got it that night!
I listened to Jeff since maybe 88 or 89. My Aunt and Uncle took me to see him at Peabodys pub in Cleveland ohio. It was just before See the light came out. Show was awesome. I am so glad I had a chance to listen, appreciate and soak in the greatness that is Jeff. Still get misty hearing his music. To his wife and his kids. Your husband ,your dad gave me so much joy listening to his stuff. Thankyou God Bless ya
I cant watch this without tears in my eye, it is such a beautiful song & a,perfect tribute, to Jeff, a very , caring, loving gentle soul, & every bit as talented as the best blues guitarist/ singers, BB, Muddy, Hendrix, Vaughn, & Clapton,,& as humble as anybody,,,
He was full of love and as for seeing the light, he was a beacon. An inspiration, a true star. They sometimes fall, this one returned. Love and respect Mr Healy.
My God what a loss losing Jeff Healey was. The only man that could do justice to this song other than Neil Young himself. He gave us so much great music in the short time we knew him.
Silly to compare really, Jeff was a fantastic player, but this tune is not technically demanding. Neil Young, at his best has the gift of being a sublime composer and of choosing exactly the right notes to make a simple tune sound spectacular and emotionally profound, this is what Jeff is celebrating in this piece. Congratulations Jeff,,!!! thanks to your AMAZING. music and your AMAZING widow Christy Healey ,, you are now on Canadas Walk of Fame,,, RIP Jeff,, you are most certainly missed,,, what a great tribute this video is,,,
This gave me the shivers! Jeff had so much feeling flowing out of his guitar like no other! This is the first time I see this video and Jeff was in his prime. I was lucky to meet Jeff several times in my life. The first time was at a Chicago Dinner on Queen street downtown TO. He walked alone and sat right next to my buddy and me and was feeling the table for an ashtray, so we handed it to him, While we are still freaking from the occasion, Alix Antony came down the stage and asked if Jeff would like to jam. So, Jeff said yes and asked if there is a guitar he can play. I was right next to him and I said right away, Jeff take mine. Jeff went up and did three songs and was later was kind enough to sign my pickguard. What an awesome human being he was. He had a cool sense of humor. RIP Jeff thank you!
Mr. Jeff has always been in, " GOAT" territory. Listening him play is beyond sublime. Thank you very much for sharing video. If you haven't, check out Mr. Jeff and SRV go off!
I m just tingling all over listening to this, another brilliant cover by J H. he is without a doubt a hurricane, I m always blown away whenever I listen to his music. miss u still, Jeff. rest in peace in the arms of angels. Janis, Singapore
RIP Jeff. Thank you for the musical and personal inspiration. Watching these videos and hearing his iconic style reminds me of treasured memories listening with my dad. I'm grateful to be able to continue the tradition with my kids.
+Michael Rawlings I love him more because being quite the blues guitarist he brings on another guy that gets his strat? to really bright notes and seems like a younger Gary Moore. Love it. Miss this hero of a man. His big heart reminds me of my sis and my bro.. and I have not been able to say that before. Thanks for this! Jeff is still here, for sure.
Unfortunately the extraordinarily gifted musicians always seem to leave us too soon. For lots of reasons, but we feel their loss so deep. Lynyrd Skynrd, Michael hutchence from INXS, and all the others. Jeff’s Smokey voice and lyrics were so unique. Sorely missed
Jeff covers so many of my favourite songs and each time not only does them justice, but sometimes does them better. That is such a rare talent to have and duplicate all the time, you sure were something special angel. Missing you.
One of my favorites that Neil wrote....and man, Jeff Healy's style...with how much he shows the music being a part of him, like an extention of his soul. If this doesn't move you, you might want to check your pulse. What an awesome artist. I love the inserted clips of Jeff's free spirit and contagious laugh. We love you Jeff, and you'll always be missed until we see you again, up there.
This version was delivered with fun and conviction.Love it.Miss Jeff.If you are playing with an ear to ear grin,it's all good. For the 21 thumbs down, you have my sympathy.Hope you find happiness.
Always loved Jeff and his band. As most of us know ,The Great ones are never here to long. So sad, but like the song says, if there's a rock and roll heaven you know they got a hell of a band !! RIP Jeff🙏👍 What incredible man
When I see a musician and or hear a musician, not getting the response they truly deserve, I have to tell myself,...the song came out before it's time that's all.' He would with no doubt, see a totally different response to his music if he were doing it right now, in this era. People didn't see his talent for what it truly was. Purely from his heart and soul, and...to hear him to sing his ass off with the passion as real as it gets?! I say,''to the kid's of the future, who don't know this music you're really missing out :( Thank God we have You Tube!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
so moving to watch, , I dont think I will ever be able to watch it without all my emotions being stirred up, but its a great tribute to Jeff, and he most certainly left the world a better place ,, thank you Jeff you are so very missed,!!!
God I miss this man and his music. The only cover I can think of that does justice to my favorite Neil Young song. One of the few that can give Stevie Ray a run for his money. Jeff, may God rest your mighty soul. He gave us a gift of unimaginable value in your music.
I also met him for a brief moment myself. He was very friendly. He also had a great sense of humor. He told us while he was on the stage here in TN, he had to learn 2 new words for Tn folks,"HELL YEAH" and "Y'ALL":) He also stated he could hear us just counld'nt see us we were too damn far. then he said, "well come to think of it I cant see sh**"! He was soooo funny. He kept us laughin. And MY GOD HE JAMMED HIS ASS OFF!!! Sorry my post was so long, I just wanted to share that. RIP Jeff.

Always loved this version. Jeff having a lot of fun and laughs.
The fact that he never gets the credit he deserves is disgusting!!!!
He's in my top 20 for sure.
Jeff covers so many of my favourite songs and each time not only does them justice, but sometimes does them better. That is such a rare talent to have and duplicate all the time, you sure were something special angel. Missing you.
what a musician. Legend
I miss you brother. God takes his favorites first. You and SRV live on through your music. Still making people happy.
Always loved Jeff and his band. As most of us know ,The Great ones are never here to long. So sad, but like the song says, if there's a rock and roll heaven you know they got a hell of a band !! RIP Jeff🙏👍
What incredible man
priceless,,, thank you mr healey..... you and SRV join in a jam in heaven......RIP 2 two of the best!
My thoughts exactly!

Love this always did I'm 67 don't know how I missed this guy my whole life
God I miss this man and his music. The only cover I can think of that does justice to my favorite Neil Young song. One of the few that can give Stevie Ray a run for his money. Jeff, may God rest your mighty soul. He gave us a gift of unimaginable value in your music.
Stephanie B ~ Very nicely written! A fine tribute statement.
Stephanie B when the. night comes falling from the sky by bob dylan.jeff does it better!!!
RIP Jeff.
Loved reading this! Thanks
