- You spoke and we listened! Your excellent feedback on our video series helped create this video to answer some of the most common questions about parking. Join Jeremy as he provides some key visual tips on how to safely park, including how to back your vehicle into a parking space. Parking whether you are pulling in or backing into the parking spot is as easy as following these steps. These parking tips can work in Australia, India, England, or South Africa.
Parking in a lot with cones or other cars will be beneficial to perfecting your ability to park a car.
OK the next step is to practice you want to practice parking in a parking lot consistently because like the old saying goes practice makes perfect but that’s not actually true statement perfect practice makes perfect so you need to be practicing perfectly had a park in this video will show you exactly how to practice and how to park in a parking space for beginners. Parking in a parking lot is pretty simple using the steps Jeremy gives you lining up the car and taking the angle and lining up with the mirror and then making the turn. These tips will help new drivers, drivers practicing parking, old drivers, and even mature drivers in becoming better drivers by parking in angle parking lots and shopping malls.
I have struggled with a fear of driving. Its prevented me from even trying to learn. Now I'm 27 and I feel confident because of these videos
Don’t worry you’re not alone! I have my drivers license and I rarely drive because i get anxious.
I feel that but as soon as you get behind the wheel and go down your first road you realize it's super simple
@@thespaniard977 I'm an adult with severe driving anxiety as well. Unfortunately it's not always like that. I've been down plenty of roads and I still have that fear and it's very difficult to get past.
Same here, I’m terrified of learning to drive at the age of 17
@@bottombagfrenchfry7127 same 😢
"for new drivers" who else is here and already have their license 😭
For 20 years😂
Thank god im not the only one
I’ve had it since 2019😭
I’ve been driving for soo many years lol still afraid to back up parking !!
My goodness I needed this! I am pretty good with driving but absolutely cannot park in between cars at all, I can only park on a huge empty parking lot and would still have to take 3 or 4 tries until I can get myself inside the line :D This helps so much! I'm a pretty methodical person, I need numbers, angles, etc., otherwise I wouldn't get it. So this is very very helpful!! The mirror thing is exactly the kind of info I need. Thank you so much!
I have the same case. I can drive but I suck at parking.
Me too same Problem 😅
I'm totally different when I got to park between 2 cars I nail it when I have an open parking alot I fail it makes no sense.
Learn to make small adjustments(like backing up and aligning the front wheels parallel to parking lines if the front wheels are not parallel to parking spot during first approach). There are some assumptions in this video, the cars already parked are parked in centre of parking spot(which you will not see often in busy parking lot esp apartment complex).secondly, the width of the parking spot is very large compared to car(small width will cause trouble for you to exit the car, or drivers/passengers to enter cars parked on eitherside), thirdly the length of cars already parked in parking spot(large trucks extended out slightly on the road, this will impact the timing of turning during intital approach to parking spot) fourthly, the distance between the opposite parking spots(important if there is good room to make adjustments without hitting car behind you). All these points need to be factored before safe parking.

better then having your parents literally yell at you to "CUT IT CUT IT!"

36 and just started to learn driving. Been having a phobia of driving. Still practicing parking this was very helpful! Ty

@@thatoneguy8412 Name checks out I guess. Can't you read "Phobia",no?No.
I’m proud of you!! Sooner or later you’ll be so comfortable with driving
Me too 35 and still very afraid.
I'm 42 and just started, gathered enough courage finally 🙏🏻😊
Super useful, got everything down with regular/basic driving but I can't seem to park right 😪😅
same haha
I got into a car accident a while ago, and I've been kind of scared to drive and very nervous as a passenger since, so I haven't driven in over 6 months but know I need to get going on getting my license, I think I'm going to start watching all these videos, even ones I already feel confident with because the extra help can't be bad
How bad was the accident?
I'm 25 years old and I've been terrified of driving but I'm starting to learn now and this video was very helpful. I hate being told "you'll get comfortable" or "you'll know when it feels right." I needed a guide so that I can follow it like instructions and I'm just a little bit more confident now as someone who is just now learning to park
Glad it helped
Also as a reminder to watch out for pedestrians, bicyclists, and inpatient drivers who will try and pass you when you are setting up to pull into your spot .
I’m 28 and I’ve had my license a little over a year now, (scared of driving) I’m still struggling to park in parking lots and this video is helping practice!
Glad that it is helping
For those people that have fear to drive and preventing to start learning, here is a consolation and encouragement: I saw some videos where a driving school was showing 62, 70 years old ladies starting learning first time. The videos show the ladies learning. And the instructor is fabulous, spetacular. And the instructor makes cute and funny approach to the student either young or any age. He says like that: "use your little princess foot, light, gentle and slow." when using the gas, the clutch, etc if manual car. These 62, 70 years old ladies were learning in a manual car shift stick. Now I wonder how the instructor addresses to a grown up dude, of course, no little princess foot. LOL.
Do you have this video

Quarta Aula de Direção - Dona Maria Lucia - 62 anos. The instructor has many videos from lesson 1 up to your test mock. I suggest you learn manual stick that is extra skill, and then you can impress your girls with the sport car with stick shift driving in the hills of San Francisco. I decided to learn manual and I did the test with the manual car. I did very well in the test handling the manual shift, the clutch, etc but I lost few points with a very basic thing backing up the car straight for long distance, I was going straight, then not straight, I guess my eyes were in wrong direction. Even today, I don't like to back up long distance, I avoid at all cost. it's not safe anyway. So learn shift stick, and then for the exam you choose the type of car you want. I suggest you practice with an official reputable school with few classes, practice with the videos, then get a person to start practicing over and over until the day of the test, then choose a DMV place from different city that does not have difficult intersections, too busy road to leave and enter the DMV.
@@moisesibarra The video is in Portuguese teaching the eager elderly ladies manual or automatic cars driving on hills, everywhere. Watch the video, send a comment to the teacher to put legends in the video. Example: "I am from USA, I want to understand your lessons, can you put legends in your video? Translating in Portugues: "Ola Senhor, poderia por legenda em Ingles nos seus videos. Muito grato desde ja." ua-cam.com/video/pDQXmyQ_pNc/v-deo.html

I just want to say thank you so very much. I struggled with parking and it was really embarrassing but I watch this video last night and practiced today and it was a 👍🏾 everything time. A thousand thank yous💛
Great video!!! I’m in the process of teaching my daughter how to drive and, even though I’ve been driving for 40+ years, I’m finding it difficult at times to translate that experience into instruction. Your visual aids are excellent!!! Keep the videos coming!!!
It's so automatic now, it's practically impossible to explain to my daughter. Lol. Thank you!
Thank you , I’m very new to driving ,but I have a good amount of experience since aging out of foster care. I appreciate the information you shown and I will use it today on my drivers education session. I have 3 two hour sessions today, April 12, & April 19
Great Videos for beginners !!!
I’ve been driving for 10 years now and definitely not perfect at parking my car but now and then I watch videos like this one to re - educate myself.
the tip about aligning the first painted line with your side mirror is so helpful! 🙏
I've been awful at parking, always crooked, so this is very helpful, thank you!
You are so welcome!
This was super helpful, thank you! The image of the mirror as a visual reference was absolutely helpful, and unlike other videos.
Im learning to drive and park now. Its really hard for me to park and now your tips is really helpful. I would love to try this trick
Hello JEREMY, Thanks so much for the wonderful video. What makes you special from others is you directly come to the point without talking unnecessarily. I am just wondering if you please upload two more videos on 1. How to keep steering straight (Keeping the car within the track, Because I am facing problems keeping the car position constant while driving), 2. How visually understand that my cars are 2/3 feets or 1 meter away from the line as you mentioned in this video. Thank you in advance.
Really a great job and indeed very helpful for those who struggle to park
Gosh! When you use the word simple, I totally see what you mean. You made me feel so confident now. Thank you. Wonderful techniques for parking. Appreciate it.
Failed my test last week for a few reasons, but parking was one of them, lol. Nice to know this mirror trick. Will have to use it for my next attempt
Thanks for the video.. I watched this before going for my road test and I thought they would get me a smaller car but I found an SUV ready for me here in Michigan but I was surprised the concept is the same provided the space is enough for the car. I passed even the parallel parking using the same concepts that i watched from Ed Zone. Big ups to you - Ed Zone.
Awesome, i use your TIPS today for my Georgia Road Test and i pass it like a pro. Thank you.
Good luck!
16 n learning; i'm someone that prefers having tricks to do things, and the 'side mirror' tactics help so much! i don't struggle with reverse parking -- normal parking gets me the most..
the instructor is also very calm, and a straight forward teacher. this helps a lot with driving anxiety.
I'm ALMOST 27 and I just FINISHED reading the driving book BUT VISUAL ADDS LIKE THIS WORK BETTER FOR ME.
I just got my license at 33year old l know the basics echos to park this video helped me so much …….thank you!!!!!!!
So great! I have a fear of driving and this helps so much. If you could make on about driving on highways that would be awesome! Thanks again!
Great suggestion. We'll look into it
When I was first practicing, I was terrified at the thought of getting behind the wheel, now I'm way more confident then I was a few months ago
Wow your videos are helping me to see the process more simple
You make it sound so easy! The visual aids you describe are so useful.
Awesome tips that I can surely recommend this to all beginner drivers. I've learned so much here. Thank you 😊✨
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you thank you. I have been looking for someone to teach me the easiest way to reverse park. You have made it so easy. Thank you so much. south africa
Glad to be of assistance
Really nice useful , explained clearly and methodically; really appreciate. Thank you.
One of the best tips to add to this is if the space between the rows are narrow, drive a bit further before turning so you can "slide" in easier. If you don't pull a bit further ahead, you won't get the arch needed and you will be doing backing and driving forward a couple of times.
We have rules but not in parking lots? Oversize back in. Don't park near cars. Forward parking beside handicapped? Are you retarded? Don't park near oversize. We need signs truck parking, car parking, suv parking.
@@adaptercrash are you ok?
@@TheJBronson butthole backed into me f350 versus yaris, 2 other butt trucks boxed me in. Set up on insurance. Oh look a dead body if it was on the street. They just don't care.
Thank you so much for your information. My daughter just did her first perfect park by your explanation. I wish you a beautiful life ❤
This was so helpful for me! I’ve recently started parking at school (literally 2 days ago) and we’re only allowed to back in so I’ve struggled with backing in but having a visual reference is so helpful
Glad it helped
Great demo- keeps it simple and clear.
Glad you like it!
I really needed this. I’m really good at parallel parking and reversing into a parking spot. Ask me to park into a parking spot! I could never.
I work best with visual references this is awesome thank you!
Not sure how I came across this video, I've been driving 20+ years. Backup cameras are great, but I'd say it's very important to know how to use your mirrors. Camera might stop working, or be covered in ice or mud, or you just might not have one.

As a 23yr old with Aspergers, this helped so much! Thank you!
Edit: Ironically, I'm a car enthusiast and I love driving, but when it comes to stuff like this, this is where I need help, especially when trying to find visual cues to make things like this much easier.
Glad it helped! Thank you for sharing.
I will definitely try these tips, I am a newbie driver. Parking is still my struggle, parallel parking particularly. Thanks to this video.
if you follow the steps exactly as outlined each time, you should park extremely well every time. the steps must be done exact or it will not work
I’m a parent teaching my kiddo to drive. It has been overly 35 years since I took drivers Ed, so I was at a loss for tips. This was perfect!!!

DEZ, thank you. Of all the driving, this was my biggest fear. Parking.
You taught better than the people who tried to teach me. All they do is stress me it out. YOU didn't.
Glad we could help you improve your skill as well as your confidence in parking.
