- If you have ever struggled with parking or are not sure that everything in your car is set up correctly, this video is exactly what you need. You will be amazed at how easy it is if you know what to aim. These simple step-by-step instructions can be equally useful for experienced and new drivers and we wish we knew them when we were taking our driving test.
We're gonna start with the easy stuff. The things you probably take for granted or just fallen into the habit of forgetting to do if you’ve been driving for a while.

SUMMARY:
- You want to adjust the height of the seat so that you can see the dash panel and the road clearly. If you happen to be a bit on the shorter side and can’t see over the dash even after doing everything the seat will allow, get a cushion or wedge to sit on.
- Once your seat is adjusted, lean left and get as close to the side window as you can. Then adjust the mirror until you can see the rear fender. Once you’re sitting correctly, you should just barely see the side of the back bumper.
- Make sure you can clearly see all the instruments on the dash and have at least a foot (30 cm) of space between it and your body. Your hands should be slightly lower than your shoulders and placed on the wheel at 9 and 3.
- You’ll need this trick whenever you pull into a parking lot and the spots are kinda slanted, hence the whole 45° thing. First, make sure you’re going down the aisle the right way! The spots should be slanted down toward you, not away from you. Next, move to your left as far as you can. Keep moving until your right side-view mirror is lined up with the left taillight of the car on your right-hand side.
- The next level up from that is perpendicular parking. Start off by getting as far to the left as you can. Watch out for incoming cars first! The further you are to your left, the easier it’s going to be.
- Locate the spot you’re going to back into and drive 2 spots past it. Then, and this is crucial, make sure drivers around you know what you’re about to do. Flip on your blinker, and before going into reverse, make sure to look out for oncoming vehicles from the front and approaching ones from behind.
- Parallel parking. First thing’s first: make sure the spot you want to park in is one your car will fit into. You want no less than one and a half times the length of the car. Drive forward until your car is next to the one in front of the parking spot.

Paralell parking... That was by far the easiest thing to do back in driving school but when reality kicked in and I was with my own car and there were actual cars around... 😢
ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ Hibi yasss I can definitely relate to dis
I don’t take my car out just cause I’m afraid I might get stuck when I have to park my car
Here in the Uk I had to do it up a hill
@@winclouduk in a manual? 😩
_Depression98 yeah it was. Just do the same as going uphill in a manual, and go in reverse lol

Yikes, I really felt called out when you talked about people who drive miles just to avoid parallel parking 😂
Only learned it with a camera in my lessons so I'll definitely try this
😭😭😭me too
Where I live they took parallel parking off the test, and you can use a backup camera
Same... 😭
I passed today
I know this is from 3 years ago, but congratulations! 🥳

Congratulations 🎉

Another top: most cars even mine which is a 2005, let you adjust the steering wheel up and down! There’s usually a handle which allows you to move it underneath the steering wheel😊
How young does this guy think we are haha, thinking we’ve never seen a clock haha
Right? We’re learning how to drive that should give you an idea of how old

Blame it on gen z
Parallel Parking is way easier in my driving school since the space is enough for my car, but when I started driving and try parallel parking I always doubt myself lol

No joke!
I've always loved the challenge of parallel parking! But it's really a skill that comes with experience. I never thought it was fair to insist kids doing their driving test should be required to know how to parellel park because it takes time to develop that skill.
Amen!!!! I failed my 1st time
It is fair though to expect that when you pass your driving test you know how to parrallel park (or park in any way actually) If you cant you shouldnt get your license. you clearly dont know the mechanics of a car yet.

Well now they don’t have too!
i passed my first time did parallel parking perfectly
I just got my drivers license last week. Already accidentally cut someone off. I'm beyond terrified of driving in town, no idea how to calm my nerves enough to pay attention to everything around me
Bruh I can relate too much but I don’t want to
I'm not even able to handle the accelerator and clutch together and if I don't clear that up I'll never get my driver's license
@@cheryl181 oh wow, sounds complicated. All I had to worry about was my gas, my brakes, and my blinker.
@@Ember1220 that sounds nice!I'm sure with just a bit of practice you'll get better before you know it 😉
I remember reading somewhere to start off slow and then get bigger. Start out just driving around your neighborhood then slowly going to more places
Watching this before my driving lesson today. It’s helping me so much ! Good luck to everybody getting ready to take their road test 😊🙏🏾

I learned the mirrors trick years ago and it really eliminates the blind spots.

Turn the steering wheel left. Proceeds to steer right.
Think about it from the bottom. It technically goes left then lol
Nice video! I'm a new driver and have to park in a perpendicular lot at home and still get nervous quite often. A few times it took me at least 10 minutes to park. Any videos on how to drive on the highway?
Maybe it works for some people but personally it's better to learn from practice and feel rather than relying on reference points that will change from car to car and one situation to the next. Just carry out the best observations you can and move at the slowest speed. You can change the angle of the car a lot if you go really slow
Loved the English explanation, learned lots of phrases like flip on, bright spiders etc🤙🤙
I like the tip about adjusting mirrors..
Thanks a lot. Look at the car on our sides helps a lot to avoid crash in the back of the car, mostly in case of missing warning sensors. Thanks again to remind me how to "correctly" park the car in accordance to degree/angles.
Whoever sees this I hope you have a great day today😊

A great teacher. Thanks for the video, clearly stated and sounds easier to drive and park a car. I wish you could teach me in person. Haha i don’t know how to start.
Extremely helpful, thank you! :)
To steer the car in reverse, turn the wheel in the direction you want the rear of the car to go. *Turning the wheel to the right steers the back of the car to the right. Turning the wheel to the left steers to the left.*
No 💩 man!
Good video to brushin up your everyday thing.
That mirror guide saves me!

Wow Sir i really enjoy this practical driving on my computer . thank you very sir.
Awesome video as usual 👍🏼💯
Thanks bro... i enjoyed seeing this tips
I'm definitely in camp backing in. Its easier (and safer) to leave the spot nose first. An easier way to do it is approach the spot as close as you can and when you're sitting directly in front of it turn the wheel hard until you're at a 45 degree angle to the spot, that way you actually see it in your side mirror. Even better if you have enough room to do it is to start turning earlier and just go until you're lined straight with the spot.
Thank you, BRIGHT SIDE. This is rather helpful. I'll keep this in mind when I do parking before my test. Although, I do have one question: why would anyone back in a parking space? It seems superfluous.
Awesome video 👏 , very clear, especially great for new drivers 👍! Thanks for sharing 🌷!
Totally enjoyed this 😁
its always hard for me to park parallel thats why i always avoid parking this way. always nervous, but with this video, you made it so easy. thank you bright side. who is with me, comment down below.

Bright side is a teacher of everything!
Thank you for making my life easy with all those horrifying types of parking
Beautiful lesson
I just got my driver's license last year and I was taught in driving school the 10-2 hand positioning. I'm changing to 9-3 now.
Thank you for the Tips BRIGHT EYES 🙏
😄This is sooo hilarious! I've actually been taking driving classes these last couple of weeks, and parallel parking was the 😫one thing that was giving me trouble. 🤗And just yesterday I finally did it right. What were the odds that BRIGHT SIDE was gonna upload a vid about parallel parking the next day? Coincidences, coincidences. ☺😉👍💜
Thanks it's very useful for parking
Could you give a quick general overview meeting of your own experience
Not only new drivers should train them, experienced drivers should never settle as there is always room for improvement :)
Thank you bro.... It's useful tips only....🤩🤩🤩
Thanks for the video, I like it 👍
No matter how much you'll explain but practically its more important keep practicing.
thanks for this video is very helpful for me 💖💖
Thanks for explanation.
This is helpful for the people who write the driving manual
Ugh go lyyuluibhl
Not sure there was something I hated to learn to do, but there was things I wasn't happy doing. And that was to start again, from a red light. Some road crosses are on a slightly tilted ground in Denmark. So I often were rolling backwards a bit before I got the car driving. I was so afraid of rolling back down in to the one behind me.
I learned the parking box thing pretty well. And I make sure that I am never in too much of a hurry to straight the car up after a parking. Backing far enough out, to see the markings on the ground for the chosen spot out of my windshield
I think I basically know everything but when I was still learning I should've payed more attention to parallel parking and asked the instructor that I do it more often cos we only did it like 2-3 times
Love your challenge
very clearly, thank you !
I love this channel :)

Very nice parking clip thanks lot
I have just completed my driving classes but yet to master this skill of parallel parking. Here in India the classes were only for 12 days with 1 hour each day. May be I require some more time for this. But I just want to keep on driving. I am very much excited to drive and keen about when I will go driving again even though I practice every day. The most dreadful thing is when someone overtakes me and goes driving in front of me immediately requiring me to slow down a bit.
did u get your license ?
Always look on the bright side!!!
