Hi a have a V6S manual convertible and had it nearly 3yrs and love it to bits ,I use it a couple of times a week ,it's had a stage 1 to 402bhp. I'm 6'1 and never had a issue with comfort .put it into dynamic mode and it's loud as hell ,makes up for the silent Tessa's.
Sounds a stunner Paul! I’m aiming for the V6s manual too and am researching on tuning capabilities and ways to strengthen the clutch without losing the oem pedal feel. How has the clutch been for you?
You can’t beat a F Type, the soundtrack is incredible and being a manual just tops it off. Some stunning cars in that garage. The red Porsche Cayman is something else 👍👍
I advised my son to buy a convertible in the dead of winter and he got a great car, no leaks sound was minimal in the car he really enjoyed it in the summer. He only got rid of it as someone drove into it while it was parked and drove off. Judging from your drive and it is raining there were no leaks and performance was good. winter is the best time to buy a convertible. Trust me i have allays done this for may a year if i wanted a convertible
Great car, I was fortunate enough to have a track day gift for my birthday, I drove an F Type R 4x4 575 BHP, I was truly astonished how that car drove, bye far the most powerful car I had ever driven, I would love to have one, maybe in a few years fingers crossed. Thanks for this! Its F type all the way for me.
I remember asking a friend who had a VW Beetle Cabrio back in the '70s what it was like to use over winter. He said that with the multi-layered hood it was warmer than the standard car, it too had a glass rear window of course.
Love the F Type. For work I have the Mitsubishi hybrid, so totally auto. For fun, I run a Z4 3 litre manual, loads more fun changing down , blipping the engine round descending corners. The new Z4 is auto, so I won’t be changing this bus, it’s now 10 years old and I’ve owned it for 9 years. Tin roof up for winter, but come the warmer weather ………. Great video.
Great video and exactly why it's so good. Who else would review a convertible during the British winter. Brilliant. For me it's a difficult choice between the Porsche Boxster or the Manual F Type..
Seems like a fantastic car Sir Pete. Great review with crazy conditions lol. Not a convertible fan myself but I appreciate what they are. I’d take the jaguar if I was gonna get one
I saw an article that Jaguar UK only sold 9 manual F types in all of 2019. According to the stats, the auto box is faster at 0-60mph, which might be another reason that the manual doesn’t sell? They are very frisky in the wet, which is why they have a snow/rain setting to calm them down. I bought a 3.0V6 auto and the sound of the engine is almost as exhilarating as the forward propulsion!
V6 F Type has always been the sweet spot. great balance, amazing soundtrack and just great fun. Just need to pack light. on a run it will easily do 33 to 34 MPG. But it never does, because it's such fun to give it a blast! Great to find a manual Pete. Happy New year to you. Great start. I bet if you had got in the 718 S you would have reminded yourself it has a "naf" sounding 4 cylinder engine. Still a great car, but never as exciting or as viseral as the F type.
@@PetrolPed The GTS 4.0 and the GT4 are spot on. The 2.5l 4 cylinder less so in my humble opinion. But then, I drive a Taycan 4S without the electronic sports sound - loving the silent drive. Rather have no sound than something made up - it is the most effortless car in the world with the best ride ever - that car levitates across the road. 911GT3 at 9000 rpm, well that is emotional? I guess you might agree :-)
The Cayman GT4 is the pick of the expensive bunch, the V6 F Type manual is my second option, two fantastic sports car for a middle earning man. Epic content Pete, I enjoyed it a lot.
Less choice but lower prices for a winter purchase but I was looking for 14 months for 'the one'. Winter tyres and hardtop on, Z4 could be dailyd(?) but with 2 4wd available, saved for those dry, sunny winter days. AMG GT C Roadster would be my choice from the showroom if the bank manager was feeling kind 😁.
Very nice manual shifting indeed! I've recently been driving f-pace with 3.0 V6 w/ charger, for a week. It was a lot better than I expected. Loved it. I can imagine f-type would be awesome as it's lighter and w/ manual, so less losses in the tranny.
What a lovely sound it makes, even as it's spinning the wheels. 😁 First rule of purchasing is always buy out of season, no matter what it is. The convertible market just highlights it in BIG numbers.
My 2016 with an aftermarket carplay is great (Harry M. has a video on doing the same unit). Greatest 300 dollars/pounds you can spend on an F type.....imho. Coupe in the F-type is my preference...awd. Done. The reason it has not sold better (manual) is that the ZF8 is so good.
Great video Pete as usual. This idiot bought a convertable F Type V8R last year just after the first lockdown. I bought it from somewhere in Norfolk. Now, its the driest part of the country, at the warmest time of year. On the day it was freezing and raining as hard as in your video. I fell in love with the car and bought it anyway. God I love it. I rarely have the roof up because I have a garage and I will go out on any sunny day with my boy just for fish and chips or to a coffee shop somewhere, as long as it is a ling drive away. Ive had the roof down yo as cold as -1 and as long as the heated seats snd blowers are working ( and a hat on my baldy head ), its an absolute joy to hear that engine grumbling away. ( Im sorry, the V6 may be good, but Im all about the noise, and yhe V8 is always better!!). Keep up the great vids Pete. 😁👍
Bought the first convertible ( Spitfire) in 1968 and we have had one in the family ever since. Even when we lived in Switzerland we drove the BMW 3 series convertible all year round and believe me in the mountains it got quite cold with a little snow!!!!!!!!!! Unfortunately, my old Z3M roadster after 17 years became too difficult for me to get in with the roof up so I sold it to another enthusiast who currently has it in Spain. Out of all the cars I saw the 991 GTS would be my choice but I think I will still keep Erica ( as seen in Porsche Perfection, Peters covid video).
Good film Ped. Shame about the weather. Wetter than an Otter's pocket, Lol! It makes sense as you say to buy a soft top in the off season when it's cheaper. Nice car but you are are about 10-15 too years too young to buy a Jaggg Ped 🙂
It’s the leg room for me as well and head room so until you sit in them it’s hard to choose , all great in their it own right but the Jag V6 looks a good summer run around 😊worthy of a look .
I drove my Audi TT Roadster all winter long when I lived in the Rocky Mountains. The stars at high elevation, particularly where there are little or no city lights, are magnificent. As long as there was neither rain or snow, I would lower the top, turn up the heat and the seat heaters and steering wheel heater and drive. It was delightful. Did others find me odd? Maybe, but watch the Northern Lights, meteor showers or just a clear starry night just once when driving and I bet you too would lower the top.
Not a problem... I have driven an SLK in December with the roof down.... I also used to have a Triumph Spitfire...... Love my P38 but would like a convertible in the Garage.... I would also like a Garage!!!! :-))))

Hi Ped, used to have a V6 Merc CLK cab & it was a daily for over 4 years. Great car & so well insulated that after being covered in snow, the roof stayed covered after driving it when all the tin tops had melted theirs (the insulation in the roof wadding was that good at keeping heat in the car)! Added to that, as soon as the sun came out & the rain stopped, it was always heater, heated seats & shades on.... roof down 😎 As for a 2 seater soft top, @ 6' 3" i have the same issue with leg room. Budget allowing @ that showroom, i'd take the 911 mate. 👍🏻
Lots of big Ped grins driving this Jag. Love the manual, is it a Getrag box? Looked to have a really lovely gate on it. We have had two convertibles, an SLK 200 manual, which had for 5 years, when we lived in Hampshire. Rule was top down as long as it was dry, loved the air-scarf. Second car was a BMW Z4 2.5 six cylinder, lovely motor, but hideous depreciation, had to let it go after a year unfortunately! Sorely tempted by that F Type 😎😍
You know yourself PP People buy with their heart and when summer comes out prices of convertibles are usually high to take advantage but during winter that’s when ur brain goes oh that’s a bargain. Oh and Happy New Year PP 🥃

Evening all and Happy New Year to everyone! Great review as always, bet the detailer loved you ☺️ I do like these and I never knew they did a manual either, was lucky to have a 380bhp AWD V6 Coupe for my honeymoon in Canada. In dynamic the exhaust was amazing and we nicknamed the car ASBO lol Did feel cramped though and just about fitted two cases in.
Evening Peddlerz,Happy New Year.Great review as always Ped,brave pills required for that car in that weather I think.Which would I have? I'm afraid I would have to cast aside the convertibles on this occasion and go for that stunning Quattro.Fabulous car.
That car would look good on our driveway to replace our manual JCW, sitting next to our Black E Pace. It is one car I would consider replacing the Mini with not because it is a Jag necessarily but a V6. My ZS180 MG with its 2.5L V6 sounded awesome and then when fitted with an induction kit took it to a different level. I would love another V6 but if the 5 miles per Litre I got from the MG was replicated across all V6's I would have a hard time justifying that as a purchase with fuel prices at todays level. Guess I will be sticking with the Mini for now.
My V6 f type easily achieves 8 miles/L (36mpg) on motorway or good A road and I have seen 9/L (41mpg) on occasion. However if all your journeys are short on 30mph roads it will be around 6/L.
@@abacusfencing Thanks for the update. If an owner can afford that level of consumption I am sure the experience of an F Pace makes up for the cost of fuel.
You may want to check out the otters pocket definition in the Viz Profanisaurus before using it in polite company 😉😂 Beautiful car, I’ve always like the F-Type.
Had a manual F-Type which I purchased from Lloyd Jaguar. Strange noise started as if the timing belt was slipping when I pressed the clutch. The Jag dealer had it in 3 times and the last time the garage had the car for 2 months, eventually stating they were struggling to fix the car as they dont work on manual F-Types. We eventually rejected the car so for me I wouldn't own a manual again!!!!
I'm really not a ragtop type, but it is something best to buy out of season. :) (But I'm just a bit of a fan of the V6 manuals. I'd actually really love the coupe, maybe in that sort of putty-taupe some E-types came in. :) )
@@OllamhDrab There were two Jaguar colours that fit the time and are similar. One was the lavender shade that also appeared on XJ models but the more dramatic “pink/lavender” shade was most often found on V12 E Types and a few Daimler/XJC V12 models with a black vinyl roof . Heather looked unexpectedly nice on an E-Type convertible if cared for and polished but it was one of the less popular choices. 🙂🙂🙂
How does the leg room compare to your Audi TT? Did you have to get the 2 buckets out later to help detail after the review? Made me chuckle after seeing you , T and the dogs on the beach on Insta. Good job Ped.
Hi Peter Omg o yes the v8R all day long what a car mate… If I didn’t have 3 grandchildren I would part X my Audi SQ seven for a new one of these… sound amazing lovely car mate but back to reality I have two amazing granddaughters and one grandson which are not going to fit in this car😎👎😢🤪 lol
Only half the cost of a S/H 911 but only half the car practically. Rear seat space and front boot make them sooo good for trips. Folding roof doesn't compromise boot space either obvs. Boxster would be better than the F! Anthony James have a nice selection of cars.
Manual just adds to the dreamy experience it seems
That F Type sounds so sweet. What a collection of cars in stock. That Audi Quattro looks absolutely beautiful. That’s a rare one.

Yes Yes the Boxster S not the fastest thing but the mid engine and storage both ends and a roof rack for the dogs hm?
They’d love that 😂
You may want to check out the otters pocket definition in the Viz Profanisaurus before using it in polite company 😉😂
Beautiful car, I’ve always like the F-Type.
Oh I know what it means 😜😂😂
Very nice motor. Dealers with them on their forecourts right now will want them to shift so deals to be done!. MPG on those?!
I didn’t check but a believe the V6 isn’t too bad on a run. Late 20s to early 30s 👍
For me it would be the 718 (base not S)
"wetter than an otter's pocket". I live in Seattle. I'm filing that one away in the back of my brain for use...
😂😂😂
Had a manual F-Type which I purchased from Lloyd Jaguar.
Strange noise started as if the timing belt was slipping when I pressed the clutch.
The Jag dealer had it in 3 times and the last time the garage had the car for 2 months, eventually stating they were struggling to fix the car as they dont work on manual F-Types.
We eventually rejected the car so for me I wouldn't own a manual again!!!!
Not good 😢
F Type Definitely. Grand Cabrio or Abarth 124..?
Nothing like a Jag!! (sorry about the legroom hahaha!)
I'm really not a ragtop type, but it is something best to buy out of season. :) (But I'm just a bit of a fan of the V6 manuals. I'd actually really love the coupe, maybe in that sort of putty-taupe some E-types came in. :) )
That colour was “Heather”😃
@@HQBProductions Really. I would not have guessed, usually 'Heather' is kind of a purpley grey to my knowing. :)
Convertible as daily isn't my thing and I like the coupé lines better, especially the F-type. That GT4......wow!
It was lovely 👌
Like the merc nice f type tho ped
I always think that, buy a summer car in winter, folding metal hard tops are decent all rounders
Happy New Year all
And to you 👍
How does the leg room compare to your Audi TT? Did you have to get the 2 buckets out later to help detail after the review? Made me chuckle after seeing you , T and the dogs on the beach on Insta. Good job Ped.
The TT Roadster has plenty of leg room 👍 We’ve finally got dry 😂
For the taller guys it would have to be the XK.
Hi Peter
Omg o yes the v8R all day long what a car mate… If I didn’t have 3 grandchildren I would part X my Audi SQ seven for a new one of these… sound amazing lovely car mate but back to reality I have two amazing granddaughters and one grandson which are not going to fit in this car😎👎😢🤪 lol
I reckon they sold about 10 manual ones
I say go for it!!
👊
I would buy the 718 , I think it would hold its price more than the Ftype
Probably 👍
Jaguar is nicer and has a proper engine not a naf 4 pot
Only half the cost of a S/H 911 but only half the car practically. Rear seat space and front boot make them sooo good for trips. Folding roof doesn't compromise boot space either obvs. Boxster would be better than the F! Anthony James have a nice selection of cars.
They sure do 👍
Great car. I'd have the F-type.
