My dad is getting his this Friday, its something he's deserved his entire life and seeing it in person on Sunday was something special. I even had the chance of making it rev, believe me it was incredible.
Having recently looked at the Nissan GTR, Audi RS5, BMW M3, BMW M4, Porsche Cayman and the F-Type V6s, after driving one, the decision was made. Yes the German cars are more refined, but TBH quite boring in their looks (internally more than externally), the GTR would have drained every penny I had on running costs and the RS5, just didn't seem special enough for me. The Jag just stirred my inner 11 year old self, and I haven't had a car for a very long time that did that. If you can afford one, then I would seriously go check them out. They're bigger than you think for a 2-seater; tho not the boot ;) and are just incredibly enjoyable. Every time I get in I have a grin on my face. Every time I get out, after maybe another drive around the block, I have a grin on my face. Just an epic car IMO.
I love Aston Martin until the end and for a long time, thought they had the best looking cars... ... But that F-Type Jag. That is the most beautiful machine on the road.

As the owner of a 2017 F-Type Premium here in the USA I can say Jeremy is correct on a lot of his points like the ride. I thought I had a bad tire or something because of how bad it feels at slow speeds. I got mine used at 42k miles on it. I did the alignment, the trans fluid, the differential fluid and fixed the cheap plastic bits that were going bad. Did the work myself because "Yikes" at Jaguars service and parts cost. Did you need to replace shocks/struts at all? Maybe that could help the ride. And maybe they changed the ride in the later cars.
@@barsaf9989Yes I still do working on my 2nd year. Some things are your typical effort to fix while some are a bit more. Recently had to replace my coolant thermostat. My V6 kept running hot at 80mph then at 75mph and then 70mph. The part is one big housing with what looks like a heat element that plugs in the bottom. Not sure. I had to remove a lot of the intake ducts and disconnect some of the Supercharger lines at the top to get access. Also the small support bracket behind the left headlight. The tiny water pump line that branches off the main hose is easily broken. I found a replacement and fitted the upgraded brass connector. As with most coolant return lines on the F-Type, they are brittle and cheap. I had issues with the battery draining and discovered that the car was not full going into sleep mode. You will know this if you lock the car and after 15 to 20 min you can still see in the window that that the hazard button is glowing and the door LED lock lights are still on. After two days it will make the car say "Low Battery Start engine" I have had all 4 tires replaced and I still detect the wobble. I have checked maybe 4 times all the mounts and drive train. I have inspected the hubs etc etc and see nothing to cause this. My only conclusion if the differential is not very smooth. I have changed the fluid 2 times in 20k miles. First time was to be sure it was good after I bought it. The recent was to see what 20k miles did. It was clean and looked fine. No metal shavings.
@@barsaf9989Forgot, so the MPG has been the same mostly. I can get 29mph all highway and about 22 to 26mpg city driving. Keep in mine I drive casual and rarely really drive aggressively. I did do my spark plugs and used NGK. I had a weird idle where it would seem fine but then drop and shake slightly and recover every few minutes. Even with AC off. Not enough to trip any codes or misfires. So I tried different gaps. First was .032 then .038 then settled at .035. I have the full mechanics repair PDF of like 4000 pages the dealer uses and reading through it, I found a idle speed calibration procedure which seemed to help. You disconnect the negative battery terminal or the entire battery for 20min. Plug back in and start the car. 1. Let it idle, touch nothing till it reaches operating temp. Then shut off car. 2. Restart car and idle for 2 minutes. 3. Hold brake, put in Drive gear and hold it for 2 minutes. 4. Then drive for at least 5 min and varying speeds to allow the ECM to calibrate. That's it. Then of course after, reset the clock and settings. Do the door window recalibration as well. Hope this long reply helps. 😂

But this week Jaguar told me they don't want me to own a Jaguar, they are interested in a different kind of demographic. I will reluctantly comply, RIP Jaguar.
The fact that I watched this when it came out and that I now have the V8s is awesome. I love this car so much. Had it since the beginning of this year.

Love my 2017 F-Type Coupe! Looks beautiful....sounds amazing....drives great! BEST CAR EVER!
Coming back to this to remember Jaguar, before it's funeral in November 2024.
I want it, I want it, I want it!
better start saving up
Need it, need it, need it.
Techla Believe it or not, this baby is almost half as cheap as a GTR or Corvette! It's only double what your average soccer mom SUV costs lol! Hmmm, this or the the GTR....PFFFT THIS OF COURSE.
Getting it, Getting it, Getting it
Getting the v6s coupe
Jim Green Me too! I'm happy to see that Jag is doing well.
Always love coming back to this video, never thought years later there would be one of these sitting in my driveway.
How do you like it? I'm looking at the 2015 year but can't decide between coupe /convertible or v6s or the v8r
@@jamesdempsey5702 sold mine a couple months back. Loved it but super unreliable. I had the V6S, if you can go for the V8
i thought he was going to make a price joke when he bought the miniature food,
he would be like, this is all i could buy, because i couldnt afford anything more with the price of this car.
lol.
Omar Rafik He might as well
Heard the v8 version today. And oh my gosh. Its incredible.
Lucky, even this V6 sounds amazing, the V6 sounds like an average V8!
Words can't describe how much I love this car
1:00 Jeremy's face though :D
1:01 I didn't know Jeremy can smile
He only does that when he's sideways in a car
Waited for 7 years of depreciation while watching this video on repeat (like Most of us). Just put a deposit down for the same spec, and now understand why he was grinning. boy was it worth the wait!
Now that’s a JAGUAR commercial! I might buy that.
And Jeremy's not even trying and he could sell that me that.
The coupe is infinite times more goodlookin
The convertible top down is way better looking
One of my dads friends has the F-Type R convertible and it is amazing and the convertible looks waaaayyyy better with the top down but it looks a bit EH with it up like all soft tops apart from the ones that were meant to be soft tops originally
@@QKvox coupe looks worse but is way more fun I'm sure.
@@jamesdempsey5702 probably because it’d be a bit stiffer and lighter but you don’t get to hear the V8 as well as with the roof down, so if I could get I id get the convertible for sound only but the dynamics are still really good on the convertible
Good god! This is the most beautiful car I've ever seen.
One of the reasons I'm so obsessed with this car right is because of the noise. I could listen to it all day long.
The sound of that exhaust just gives me goosebumps. Man I love this car
Same. You can be sure you’ve found your people by how they respond to the Jag sound.
As long as you skip the dealers pass by noise in latch special operations technical bulletin
In memory of my E-Type.....this is the nicest modern version of a very amazing car, we can buy today.
I love these convertible car with all his ups and downs!👍👍👍👍
Greatings from Berlin to all fans of this beautiful car🙋♂️🍀
"Don't drive slow, just drive fast." That goes nicely with: "Power solves all things. This we know." Ah Jeremy, what would we do without your words of wisdom.
I have what must have been the last 380 R Dynamic V6 RWD off the line. Built 2020. Totally black inside and out, 20in wheels. AWSOME! Still only got 2,500 miles on it. Must use it more, perhaps a run to Diddly Squat Farm. I keep watching this video and cannot believe I now have one.
Jeremy, Richard, James. They are the best of motoring shows
Best car review of all time. Hands down.
My biggest regret in life was when I had to sell my F Type S. 😪. I only had mine for just over a year, and the total cost of ownership was well over 12k for that year. Would happily do it again if I could.
For those who are wondering where that was filmed. It was filmed in Glenshee Scotland!
one of the best reviews on top gear (in my opinion)
This is the same place where Jeremy reviewed the F12 Berlinetta and at 1:50, the same music used in 458 review
hey i have the same car.. in gta
Lol
surano
i think it is a f type/sls mix
Amin Omran yea it is
***** think again C-X16 concept (2011) aka F type concept car which was based on gta 5 Surano :P or they could have added it in? before the release date and The F Type was on 2012 Paris Motor show ..
Clarkson the champion of loud and fast, if it handles well...bonus time.
God in heaven that exhaust sound has a mainline tapped straight to my body. The wild levels of swooning for this cat (and the Aston Vantage, Christ that car is unfair) give me feelings I never thought possible for material objects. 🥰👌
That sound, it's better than any music out there, it's so satisfying to listen.
Go back to 1996 when Jezza reviewed the original XK8 on Top Gear, he moaned that the back end had been spoiled by making the boot too big for idiots who play golf! So if you want a boot Jeremy...
I think he was complaining more about the spare taking up 80% of the boot, than the actual boot itself.
I only have to look out of my window to see this car on the drive.
Only problem is we have to return it to the dealer tomorrow.
I’m here after the “rebrand”. In my mind, this is what jaguar will always be - a snorting hippo
Car reviews by Jeremy are just a masterpiece❤.
And the cinematography by the top gear crew make you forget it is a tv show!
Who’s here after Jaguar announced their shit rebranding?
I bought my current Jaguar (an XFR) because Clarkson gave it a rave review and it's absolutely brilliant and completely unhinged. Now it's time for a replacement, I think it may have to be an F Type R
The most beautiful Jaguar in a long time, I met a stock broker who owned one.. Confirmed that it drives as great as it looks
This video is responsible for me getting an orange F type v8. This is the most exciting car I've ever driven. The V8 is so unnecessary yet endearing. Perfect contrast to my daily driver model S P100D.
Definitely the most beautiful Jag (I prefer the coupe over the roadster), alongside the E-Type.
Just saw this video 10 times and I want to see this later :D :D That sound, design... Best V6 ever made...
This video is so nice to watch now that I've just bought one myself. It's surreal to drive something he loves
My what has Jaguar done to destroy this once beautiful legacy. I was dreaming of finally being able to get a R75 Ftype, even used it as such a desirable car.
I just purchased a 2014 V6 convertible in Sandfire Orange, just like this one, for an obscenely low price, and it is absolutely AMAZING. This is the most beautiful car that's not considered a super/hyper car pretty much that's ever been made. I'm in love. ...where the heck did these emojis come from 😂
1:01 The many faces of Jeremy Clarkson
Number 1 Joy!
LMAO, thanks for the time stamp. THAT'S the face to look for when you want to know if Jeremy approves of a vehicle. After I saw that I was sold lol.
hahahah yeah! so cool
Happy to say that my first and current car is a 2006 Liquid Silver Jaguar XJ8L. 1 Owner from Texas, practically brand new inside and out with only 75,000 miles on it.
Probably the last good Jaguar ever made😔
The very first F-Types were the best looking, all the facelifts took away the beauty, even the new 2020 version doesn’t look as good as this.
STUNNING, best colour combo too.
"In many ways it puts me in mind of a bmw m3... except it's not a bmw, it's a jag" 😢 r.i.p
I have been driving high-end Mercs and Beemers for the last 8 years, and nothing has convinced me to change up more than this F-Type V6 Ouff. The sound alone...
This is one of my dream cars now with the Pagani Huayra. I wouldn't care if it was twice as much, I would still get this because it is perfect.
lol ur dream car list is the same as mine
I work for Carvana, i drive these occasionally. One of the best sounding cars ever next to the Lexus LFA and the Maserati Granturismo
