    Theory:
Blackreach extends beneath all the lands the Dwemer settled from Morrowind to Hammerfell. That's why Dwemer cities seem to pop up out of nowhere, their construction started in Blackreach and they build up to the surface. That's also how the Rourkan Clan was able to travel across Tamriel unmolested by Men (except Shalidor) they were literally underneath their noses.

In regards to the first theory, Sahloknir, the dragon you fight at Kynesgrove, asks Alduin in Dovahzuul, "Has the time come to resurrect our ancient realm?" and Alduin replies, "Yes, my champion." So, I think this theory actually holds a lot of water.

There's almost no way it *isn't* true. Much of Skyrim's plot makes more sense when viewed from the perspective that Alduin is stepping out of line, and the Greybeards even theorize that he may be permitted to return one day to fulfill his rightful destiny. They just leave it ambiguous so that we can have fun theorizing lol

Every time Malacath and Volendrung are brought up people seem to think it’s a coincidence/random that the Orc god king lays claim over an artifact that is Dwemer in origin, I think it’s actually quite fitting if you look at the story of the Rourken Clan.
The creators of Volendrung (Rourken Clan) had left Morrowind for Hammerfell in a self imposed exile since they refused to join the First Council with the Chimer. In doing so they became the outcasts/pariahs of the Dwemer people. Volendrung is pretty integral to the story of the Rourken and could be seen as a symbol for the Dwarven outcasts.
Once the Dwarves disappeared the Hammer was put into Malacaths possession since it had the strongest association with his sphere, giving him a metaphysical “dibs” to the artifact. Also, since Daedric artifacts are supposed to embody the sphere of its respective Daedric Prince I doubt the other 15 princes would have wanted Volendrung anyway.

    Theory:
The Morag Tong are finished. They were first created as a way of preserving the balance of power between the Great Houses. By the time of Skyrim, Hlaalu has been stripped of their status, Dres and Telvanni have been decimated by the Argonians, and Indoril has lost most of their power after the fall of the Tribunal. Redorann, meanwhile, not only stayed strong, but amassed more power and influence by pushing back the Argonians, making them the dominant power in Morrowind. Then in the Dragonborn DLC, Hlaalu hires the Morag Tong to assassinate a Redorann Councillor, and Redorann respond by killing the assassin and the people who hired them, despite the fact that what Hlaalu did was completely legal and literally what the Morag Tong are supposed to be used for. Redorann even say that the Tong are are a evil and disgusting and should never have been used, despite Redorann being the ones who believe the most in local Dunmer traditions; they're only saying this now because they're the ones in control and the Tong are a potential threat, and they now have enough power and sway to convince the rest of the Dunmer to abandon them.
I can't help but draw comparisons between this and the Tribunal and Azura.

I should elaborate on what I said about the Empire collapsing. Basically my thinking is that the events of Morrowind lead to the eruption of Red Mountain and the Red Year, which would cause the Empire to lose all its ebony and glass mines in the region. That loss of income combined with the heightened tensions around the Emperor’s old age (which Caius mentions as the reason he’s being recalled to Cyrodiil) would heighten the already tense relations between the provinces and the Imperial government. You can hear rumors of the Altmer boycotting Imperial goods in Oblivion, and a lot of the Arena and Daggerfall-era lore suggests that the Empire doesn’t really have a very strong hold on the provinces anyways, instead relying on local nobility to remain loyal. So my personal theory is that the Red Year and subsequent shortfall in Imperial mining income (plus the potentially large expenses of trying to rebuild Morrowind) would create an economic crisis that might alienate the provincial ruling classes and lead to many smaller conflicts the Empire would be unable to fully withstand.

Theory: The heart of lorkan is the reason morrowind is so much more alien than the rest of nirn.
1 the heart was shoot into the ocean where red mountain grew, so no other gods had a say in what was created
2 being the personification of chaos, it would make sense that land made by him would be more alien and chaotic
3 the rest of nirn was already made when the heart was shot, with the help of the other gods. So the rest of nirn is more orderly

Sotha Sil has a plan to be "revived".
Sotha set up the Mnemonic Planisphere, the memory storage facility where Sotha Sil stored his memories, so he could download all of his memories into a Factotum. Sotha tested this ability by implanting Saint Olms into a Clockwork Titan (a powerful factotum). This will make a copy of Sotha Sil without his divine power. However, the completed Mechanical Heart could easily return the power to him.

Alduin choosing domination over destruction was Akatosh's plan all along. As the chief deity of multiple pantheons, Akatosh is arguably the most powerful god. In order to keep his place at the top, he purposely fails to end the kalpa for fear it will reduce his power. This would explain why he intervenes in Oblivion to thwart Mehrunes Dagon and in Skyrim by sending a dragonborn to stop Alduin. He wants to keep his place at the top but has to put in a token effort to end the kalpa, so he sabotages himself to keep it going.

I have a theory that Molag Bal was literally a dreugh on/during lig who achieved Chim and became a prince similar to how Tiber Septim became a god after conquering Tameriel. Molag is said to have been chief among the dreugh which doesn’t seem to imply worship but rather literal leadership.

I've got two theories: Maiq the liar is Rajihn or atleast a aspect. He's been around since the second era and always makes fun of the current events happening and the land. Maiq already had different looks in each game he was which could be explained by him taking a new form on in each game. Maiq says that his father is called Maiq too but don't trust a guy that is called Maiq the liar and that in every era.
Second theory: The Night of tears was a lie created by the Atmorans to justify their attack on the Snow Elfs and be seen as the Heroes that took their ancestral home back from the evil elves. The are no Snow Elfs to talk about the Night of tears and the last one only says that the two sides were always on war. History is written by the winners afterall.

The reason Alduin emerged in 4E 201 was because of the Eye of Magnus. All we really know about the Eye is it creates anomalies and is dangerous enough the Psijics paid attention to it. Alduin must be present at the end of the world.
It seems likely the Eye has some effects on reality. If it was serious enough to threaten all of Nirn, that could answer the "why now" question of Skyrim.
Why hadn't it happened before? Because most calamitous events in Elder Scrolls wouldn't actually threaten the fact that the world exists, just threaten fundamentally changing it. The Eye, on the other hand, might be able to genuinely harm existence itself.
And in that way, Alduin is more than the Godhead's alarm clock, but actually protects the dream by resetting the kalpic cycle when something that could threaten the dream itself emerges.
Alduin didn't seem interested in ending the world. A previous theory you discussed saw that as a bug - corruption for the Dragonborn to cleanse. In this concept, Alduin's behavior is a feature - he creates his empire to give him a connection to the world, that he would then only destroy it to save it.
This would also explain why the Thalmor seemed ahead of the curve on the matter, because if their goal is really dismantling the Towers then getting a tool that threatens reality would be a huge victory for them.
Also, this all would make the College of Winterhold quests actually impactful instead of unsatisfying.

    • @pedigreeann
      @pedigreeann 2 роки тому +1

Problem is, many players don't join the college and the Eye of Magnus remains undiscovered, yet Alduin is flying around waking up other dragons just the same. In fact, Alduin's first appearance is always before the Eye becomes known and becomes a hazard. It clearly wasn't a hazard before it was found - it took Ancano messing with it, drawing power from it, to become a hazard.

    • @dmkatelyn
      @dmkatelyn 2 роки тому +5

@@pedigreeann Presumably the moment Ancano was at the College the Eye was going to be found. Events were already underway. That being Ancano's entire purpose for being there makes sense given the amount of preparation he seems to have done on the matter. As for player involvement, we have to also assume the Psijics wouldn't just let the risk go because you aren't there. In most ways, your a pawn in the College questline and are readily and easily replaceable.

Here is my theory: Malacath's Code outlines the way to mantle Malacath. Per the code, the son must kill the father in order to take his place as chief. Malacath is known as the "Orc father," so if an orc, Malacath's children, became powerful enough to challenge him, they could mantle Malacath and be the new Malauch.
Here's a part two: Malacath WANTS to be mantled. When Trinimac was eaten and defeated by Boethiah, his followers changed to being Orcs as well. The reason Malacath is so devoted to his orcs is not out of selfishness or love, but out of guilt as it was his failure that led to their transformation. For that reason, he gave the orcs Malacath's Code not just to help them survive in a world that hates them but to purposefully get them strong enough to overcome and defeat him, freeing his soul from being Malacath and allowing a new stronger Malacath to lead the Orcs to glory.
Last part, and a bit wild : Boethiah used to have the mantle of the pariah daedra along with his other spheres. He was alone in praising Lorkhan and despised Trinimac's popularity and sought to undo him by passing the pariah mantle to him. When Boethiah and Trinimac fought, one version states Trinimac almost made the finishing blow before he was stopped. What if Boethiah wanted Trinimac to defeat him so that the Pariah mantle will be passed on. With Trinimac having mantled it, Boethiah turned the tables with Mephala's help to further humiliate him. It was then this precedent that set Malacath's mantle to having to be fought over and won, thus making Malacath set his Code to get the Orcs to be strong enough to defeat him and claim the pariah mantle for themselves.

    Ok so, my Dwemer/Lorkhan theory
I remember someone giving a theory that dwemer actually managed to activate the numidium. The main part of the theory was that the heart needed a body to operate and numidium became lorkhan's body and he erased the dwarves. Now my theory injected was, the first war where Lorkhan and Auriel and all fought. When he tried to destroy the heart it laughed at them, it couldn't be destroyed by them. Lorkhan doesn't have a body, he is just the heart that needs a body to manifest himself. Backed up by redguards myths that Sep is not the big deal. Sep's hunger is, it's is source of power and hunger. Sep's hunger is of course reference to Heart. The most important reason I believe this is, in secret song of King Wulfharth, there is a point where Lorkhan says "dwarves will die by my hand". When a god says that it must be a big deal. So if something else took the dwarves how can this prophecy come about. But the theory puts that into place too. He got numidium as a body and erased the dwemer with its power.

So, you've spoken of the ideas for the main story of TESVI, and I personally bide with the thalmor being the main antagonists. I do believe that the Adamantine/Direnni tower is going to play a massive portion of the game. This is where I get into my theory which I just made up on the spot:
It is that: By the time of TESVI most of Tamriel would have been taken by the thalmor. With maybe pockets of the empire in cyrodill etc. I feel the only places stranding without the Thalmor ruling could be Hammerfell and (High Rock?), and there is a fully fledged war of the thalmor coming to invade these places.
The adamantine tower contains all of the powers of the aedra.
But something that the main protagonist does releases this power into mundus itself.
It will create an unbelievable situation where powerful beings from the past , and pretty much almost anything (Mainly creating references to the old games so people like Ysgramor, The Old Blades, Pelinal, Aspects of Shor, Ulfric, Tullius, Martin septim, the tribunal, etc) will pour out into Nirn from all sorts of realms.
These beings help with taking on the thalmor in an all out war. Which given that it's been 10 years since the last release, hopefully the game is MASSIVE.
Hopefully it may last a while with many quests and a lot of map space relating to these people and fighting the thalmor (Picking off generals, fighting armies, destroying supplies) all those sorts of things. Hearing Canon stories about plaines of Aetherius, Oblivion, and the old protagonists.

The Heart of Lorkhan was in the Dwemer lockbox just like Septiumus Signus originally thouht. After the events in Morrowind the heart wasn't completely destroyed so it or some remnant was sealed in the lockbox to avoid future conflict. As only dwemer blood could open it and the dwemer was all gone by this point it would have been sealed away forever. It was then blown out to sea when red mountain erupted and then drifted toward skyrim where it eventually froze into the glaciers.
As soon as we unlocked the box, Hermaeus Mora replaced the heart with his book both to reward us and to cover his tracks.
The Heart now resides in Apocrypha where intends to swap the dragonborns heart out with lorkhans heart like the Brairhearts or Neloths old Apprentice after he gains control off us. That could be why we see heart stones as such a common motif in the Dragonborn DLC. It's foreshadowing the dragonborns ultimate fate. And if the theories about the Dragonborn being a Shezarrine or a mortal incarnation of Lorkhan are true maybe that would result in a somewhat resurrected Lorkhan under Hermaeus Moras Control. This could be why we replaced Miraak as Moras dragonborn servant. Mora needed a Shezarrine and Miraak wasn't one so he needed to go. Mora is also the only deadric prince we interact with in any of the main questlines. This could be why.
I don't know how well this holds up or how well I did to explain it I just thought it was cool enough to mention.

Trinimac is the Anticipation of Nerevar. In Orcish myth the fall of Trinimac is made possible when Mephala stabs him in the back. The “foul murder” of Nerevar is depicted as Vivec (who Mephala anticipated) stabbing him in the back with Muatra. Also the Secret Songs depict Nerevar as having acquired the Heart of Lorkhan with Kagrenac’s Tools. In other words using “more than hands” as Trinimac once did at Convention. Nerevar is also referred to as the Son of Boethiah & if he did mantle Trinimac it’s as if Boethiah was once again walking about in Trinimac’s skin & speaking with his voice.

Theory I'm quite proud of: Molag Bal's driving emotion is insecurity and fear that he gained when Mehrunes Dagon brought him low in Lyg, possibly tormenting him as well. Molag Bal is an archetype of the abuser, whose abuse creates more abusers (vampires). This type of personality very typically comes from the contextual nexus of entitlement and insecurity - when one feels, deep down, that they're not as strong as they should be, but also feeling that they can resolve this problem by demonstrating their power over others.

A great example is when you best him, he actually backs down. I think he's afraid of anyone who can actually stand up to him, from the last time he was humbled by an upstart.
In the 36 Lessons of Vivec, we learn that Molag Bal wants love and feels deeply unloved. Vivec then proceeds to seduce Molag Bal, only to insult and casts away Bal after Vivec reveals he was only trying to steal the secret of Chim. It makes me wonder if his theorized relationship with Azura in Lyg had a similar vibe - when Bal was assaulted by Dagon, Azura left him because she is self-centered. Bal may have become the king of rape because he has never had a healthy consensual relationship.

Theory: the Heart of Lorkhan wasn't actually destroyed come the end of the Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind. If my memory serves, the Heart's destruction is never actually shown, but rather it merely falls into the chamber below and out of sight. It seems strange to think that only being stabbed a number of times by Keening could destroy the heart of the world when Auriel and Trinimac couldn't. Come the 4E 201, and the Ghosts of the Tribunal, Dagoth Ur's mask seemingly becomes active again, the Dread Deity who drew his power from the Heart.
This did not appear to be some simple fluke either, as the mask's wearer was able to create real Ash Zombies.. well, that is if you want to take the content introduced by the Anniversary Edition as canon. Even people near the box containing the mask reported the hearing of a drum and whispers inside their head if they remained close for too long, and the box's keeper, the Matriarch's predecessor described how he had to essentially hold onto the it for dear life. "As if to drop it would shatter the world", begging for it never to be opened. The mask itself had no enhancements placed on it, possibly suggesting it was getting its power from an external source?
Nevertheless this all seems a little too weird to me. Was the Heart truly destroyed? I don't think so. Time to take off the tinfoil condom now I think.

My theory is that the eye and staff of Magnus are actually daedric artifacts. I have multiple points in why each of these are dadric artificats and how it makes hermaeus mora the most powerful of all the Daedra. It only makes sense that the prince of knowledge would want to have his artifacts in the hands of mages. Mages are notorious for their pursuit of knowledge and wanting to uncover secrets just like hermaeus mora. Also in Skyrim, each hold has a Daedra that is affiliated with it. This is why you find the Oghma Infinium, the eye, and the college all in Winterhold. Now to get to the Eye itself, the eye of Magnus is covered in strange writing that you only find in one other place, the black books. Why would this be if it was not an artifact of hermaeus mora? Why was it locked under saarthal well that will probably only ever be known to hermaeus mora. But even it being locked there makes it seem like one of his artifacts. Think about all of his books and the eye. They all have something in common, they are locked away in some form of a vault. This is a running theme in all of his artifacts in Skyrim. Now for the staff, just like the eye and all the books, it was also locked away but not only that, it also has multiple characteristics of daedric artifacts. The staff has been known to leave its user and find another just like most other daedric artifacts and it also fits his look quite well. The staff would go to one mage to another so hermaeus mora could learn the mage's secrets and his knowledge. Now if the eye and the staff are artifacts of hermaeus mora it would most likely make him the most powerful of all the Daedra. The staff is incredibly powerful and you need to use it to fully control the eye. If the eye itself has the power to destroy the world just like ancano says if it was to be controlled by a real mage and not some wannabe like ancano it could potentially be a magic nuke. What other Daedra has an artifact that powerful. I do have other ideas that back this up like how eyes are a symbol of hermaeus mora and so on but I do not want to make this comment any longer than it needs to be.

Hermaeus Mora is affecting people through Nirnroot. Justification: Water is memory, tying Hermaeus Mora to its domain, basically making him the "water/sea/ocean god" everyone seems to be missing, and Nirnroots are humming the song of creation whilst feeding on that water, singing the song of the forbidden truth of the beginning of all things. There is no way Hermaeus Mora hasn't got his tentacles firmly into whoever, such as Sinderion, who obsess over the root. The question is why.

I was hoping my theory would have been covered but in a way I'm glad that it wasn't since I've thought of more to add on to the initial premise. The original theory was that the last Dragonborn achieves Dracochrysalis and goes on to mantle Alduin at the end of days. I thought this idea seemed fitting based off the sole premise of acting as balancing force (Ro Fus) to ensure the Kalpa's survival until the time in which you must serve as final push (Dah) that ushers it into the next cycle. It seems common place that the protagonists of at least the recent elder scrolls games go on to attain some form of immortality and this theory may even be hinted at by the canon itself. We know that the last Dragonborn develops their mastery of the Thu'um to the point that it's power surpasses that of any other Dragon, to the point that Odahviing pledges allegiance to you. Given time, more and dragons may come to bow to your power, time the Dovahkiin may have an abundance of thanks to Vampirism. Though the developers have not canonized whether the player sides with the Dawnguard or the Volkihar, we can assume from the promotional material for the DLC that the last Dragonborn was at least intended to contract Vampirism. While this could be chalked up to marketing the power of the Vampire Lord, its worth noting that the choice is given to you twice, something that was not implemented with any other in game choice. Lastly, it seems inevitable that the last Dragonborn will end up lured back into the realm of Apocrypha. There I believe the knowledge to ascend using Dracochrysalis could be learned and then later achieved by a Dragonborn who is likely already immortal and boasts the most powerful Voice of any Thu'um user. From there it would be inevitable that the Dovahkiin would assume the position of World-Eater, as their very existence would come to parallel Alduin's, coupled with the fact there are those who would come to worship you as such, those being mortal and Dovah alike.

Akatosh has played large roles in many mainline elder scrolls games, if not directly or simply wholly-- having much more room to act within the mortal realm than any other daedra and dieties seem to have. this theory is that Akatosh willingly enables and chooses to work together with the Shezzarine in many different situations-- either by lending his power, helpingg things happen by coincidence, stopping Dagon, awakening the shezzarrine in the begginning scenarios of the various games and is a key director of fate and provides the tools that resolve the game's scenario- with the Player character/shezzarine, almost like a duo.

Ey, thanks for looking at my theory! The reason I think Fargrave is a testing ground is that, in the little bit we can see of the landscape, there are no signs that the Celestial Bearers (the skeletons) actually _lived_ there. There are no giant structures, no artifacts, just skeletons in the middle of this featureless expanse of sandy dunes. In my mind, this means that Fargrave was either a burial ground for beings who lived elswhere (think elephant and whale "graveyards" in the real world), a battle ground, or a testing ground.
We know that Magna Ge--at least powerful ones--are able to create realms in Oblivion, as Meridia did according to the Tract of Merid-Nunda. It could explain why no Daedric Prince has been able to claim Fargrave despite the thinness of its borders in relation to other planes. The Ge might have abandoned Fargrave once they were done with it, but their "power signature" still marks the place, leaving the realm in this weird master-less limbo.
The skeletons do kind of look like Dagon as well, with the brow ridges and such. There is one skeleton with arm bones that you can see from Ossa Ascentium, and it appears to only have two arms. But, again, prototypes wouldn't have every feature that the final product has.

Here’s my crazy theory that I’ve come to accept as cannon: The Kalpic cycle is a lie. According to redguard mythology Rupta created Sep from the remnants of dead world skins, and Sep created the Mundus in his own image; an undead god creating an undead world. It’s important to understand that Sep created his skin ball separate from Satakal, no longer beholden to its hunger. It is why the redguards no longer have access to the walkabout, as it was a technique created to traverse Satak’s scales. It’s my understanding then, that; Lorkhan had always intended for the mundus to be the final kalpa. It’s the reason the gods are so adamant on continuing the current cycle and why Alduin refuses his original role. There is no next world to replace this one, once it’s gone. I also believe that mundus’ creation, and, the breaking of the 12 worlds are the same event, as it is referring to the breaking of the cycle, as well as the coalescence of the remains of worlds that came before. The origin of the races may also be a result of them being saved from this breaking. Such as kyne breathing the nords onto the throat of the world, or the aldmer loosing aldmeris and finding themselves on the summerset isles, perhaps this time is also perceived as the ooze by the wood elves.

OK, you wanna theories? Here are 3 for you:
    1) elder scrolls are physical leftovers after mending the dragon breaks.
    - the number is in constant flux (dragon breaks keep happening and keep trying to mend themselves)
    - they cannot predict dragon breaks (if they are part of somithing they cannot predict it)
    - once the thing happens it always happens in fixed way (at least as is written in them)
    - as time show truth that is beyond normal comprehension it could lead to madness of Sheogorath and Herma Mora at the same time ;)
    - vision of the past is possible only with the scrolls
Basically elder scrolls are linked to time itself in much deeper way than even dragons are.
    2) Aldmeris was situated on Yokuda (or the continent was named Aldmeris by the elves and Yokuda by men)
    - Yokudans were destroying elves on Tamriel when they first come. Why? Possible because Mer looked exactly like they enemies?
    - Torinaan left Aldmeris in order to escape unspecified crisis (doom oblivious) - either continent sinking or the wipeout of elves
    - same as Aldmeris, the reason for end of Yokuda is unknown
    - it is believed the elves of Yokuda were wiped out. It it believed but it was never stated as fact
    3) Kalpas are not really the period of times of creation, thrive and destruction of Nirn but just a period of cataclysmic change (eg. if Mehrunes Dagon succeded in Oblivion crisi we could have next 'kalpa')
    - Redguards calls it Ending Time, which sounds like just the last period before change or some sort of cataclysm
    - if Nirn is recreated at the start of cycle then how we still got remnants of Yokuda? Did Yokudans move those parts of lands along with them? If yes then why they had to move from those isles?
    - Khajiit supposely call it Pounce (claw) which it sound like some danger, cataclysm
So far of known events that could be the kalpas of this theory are sinking of Yokuda and freezing of Atmora. Possibly also the doom of Lyg. Each time things changes so drastically that it's like new world.
    - Most if not all kalpa references in-games are based on theories, myths and legends (even Paathurnax words about kalpa are tainted with such bias - he answers to dovakiin's statement 'I like this world. I don't want it to end.' , acknowledging the views on kalpas and such... in the end 'There is nothing else but philosophy to a dovah.')
The only week points of this theory I can think of are Paathurnax words about Egg holding next kalpa, time riders cannot see past end of time, etc. Although the egg might be just acknowledging the concept of kalpas in Nirn and Time's end could refer to some hard to resolve and mend dragon break or some event wiping all dragons.
BTW. It seems like I can't find the in-game statement about Peryite replacing Akatosh in next kalpa. Anyone can help?

Reposting from original comment - Always had a theory that the Hero of Kvatch disappeared into the Shivering Isles and was able to mantle Sheogorath because the Hero had nothing left to lose. That grief from losing Martin drove the Hero to insanity which opened the way for Sheogorath’s influence. You can glimpse evidence of this in dialogue during the shivering isles as well as in the themes of certain missions (eg. apathetically helping a desperate man to end his life because he sees no other way out, subjecting others to torture, etc). Cyrodiil, in my opinion, purposefully feels emptier after completion of the main quest. Mania and Dementia are also very prominently co-occuring symptoms of depression. Just my theory though.

It is mentioned by Odahviing I believe that tje other Dragons are jealous of Alduins eating of the souls in Sovangarde and how it is something he guards and holds to himself. It's less of a world eating, prophecy adhering thing and more of a powerful treat kept for the king.

Ok, this is a theory I have been working on for a while. There are 2 parts. 1st Part I'm confident in, we might need some Skooma and some leaps for 2nd part:
    1. Tosh Raka, the Dragon Emperor of the Ka Po Tun, is not a cat-turned Dragon...but looking through the lens of Skyrim's lore...is actually a Dragonborn Emporer in Akavir.
    2. If this is true, I contend that the player character in Skyrim is NOT actually the Last Dragonborn, like we are lead to believe. The fight with Alduin is only a precursor to the Last Dragonborn coming, and the end of the world will come at his/her hands.
(sorry for the length, try to TL;DR best as I can:
No strong evidence mortals can become dragons...but mortals can clearly have souls of Dragons.
Tosh Raka "becoming a Dragon" is just him unlocking his abilities as Dragonborn...realizing he has soul of Dragon
This would make him Dragonborn Emporer, which clearly parallels Tiber Septim on Tamriel. He may also pass down pacts with Akatosh and his abilities to his children, just as Tiber does.
"Tosh Raka" is said to be divine, so many believe his name and divine title points him to being Akatosh
However, he is quoted in Mysterious Akavir (Aedra don't usually talk) and talks about conquering Tamriel (why would Akatosh do this?)
Instead, he is a Dragonborn with ambitions similar to Tiber Septim, to use his powers to conquer all of Akavir and the Ka Po Tun worship him as a god (just like Cyrodill on Tamriel) this makes a lot more sense than a mortal becoming a Dragon. Part 2 in comments when I get around to it.)
    end TL;DR
    Full Evidence for 1:
Mysterious Akavir (MA) is one of the only sources that give us overall insight into Akavir. I believe that MA isn't just a bunch of lies or wholly true, but hold truths being exagerated by an unreliable narrator.
The Tsaesci aren't serpent-folk...but instead are a human race with lots of Dragon and snake symbolism, for example. The serpent folk rumor is “truth on steroids”, or an exaggeration of a truth. Therefore, Tosh Raka being mortal who has tranformed into a Dragon could easily be an exaggeration for a mortal finally tapping into their Dragonborn gifts, like Skyrim's pc does.
MA talks about Tosh Raka becoming a Dragon, but as Drew pointed out in one of his videos, there isn't a lot of great evidence that this is even possible. There certainly isn't precedent for it. However, there IS precedent of mortals having the souls of dragons (Dragonborn), and using the ultimate power of Dragons (The Thu'um).
If we look at things this way, we see some intersting things that mirror Tamriel on Akavir: MA talks about a war with Dragons, that also happens on Tamriel. The cats try to “become dragons”, which could be interpretted as unlocking the power of Dragons, the Thu'um. Tosh Raka “succeeds”...he uses his inborn ability to shout, and his new found abilities help him become Emporer, like Tiber Septim supposedly did in the 2nd Era.
I have heard people say that “Tosh Raka” being a close anagram of Akatosh is evidence that Tosh Raka is just the embodiment of Akatosh on Akavir. However, if I am right, and Tosh Raka is actually a Dragonborn Emporer, it is still easy to see the link with Akatosh. The Dragonborn emporers on Tamriel made pacts with Akatosh...is it hard to believe ones on Akavir did as well?
They call Tosh Raka a “divine”, which may point to him being Akatosh. However, it sounds like Tosh Raka is a living, breathing person. He actually has a quote at the end of the book.We know that divines rarely manifest themselves the way Daedra often do (talking, appearing, etc). Tosh Raka talks about “conquering”...which seems kind of weird for Akatosh to say. However, this would be right up the alley of many Dragonborn we know from the story, like Tiber Septim. It is possible the Po Tun worship him (and maybe his ancestor) as a god. Humans used to worship dragons, and many on Tamriel worship Tiber Septim as a devine since his death. This could be why they call him a divine.
Finally, his ambition to conquer his continent would be a clear parallel to Tiber Septim. I know there are theories traveling “East or West” is like going forward/backward in time. Though I'm not claming this is true, I would say it makes narrative sense...like Akavir is “behind” Tamriel and haven't had a Dragonborn emporer yet.
We know the Tasesci first invaded Tamriel in search of a “Dragonborn” and that they were Dragon hunters. There may have not been a Dragonborn at that time, but clearly they knew of the Th'um and Dragon power before they came to Tamriel. There must be some way they would know Dragonborn are possible, which I think points to links in Akaviri cultures with the Divines, and therefore may make it possible that Kynareth/Kyne/Akatosh would bestow the Dragonborn gift to those on Akavir, just as on Tamriel.
Finally, I recently saw Michael's video on the ice wraith's of Skyrim. He put forward a theory that Tiber Septim's statue depicts him killing a snake due to Ice Wraith killing being an ancient ritual to prove strenghth in Skyrim. This may be a stretch...but I couldn't help but remember that the Tsaesci are linked with snake imagery. Tiber Septim slaying a snake could be a wink/nod or some magical insight into what is happening on Akavir...Tosh Raka (Dragonborn Emporer) defeating his ulitmate foes, the Tsaesci (Snakes) and ascending to Emporer of Akavir (and maybe godhood, much like Talos).
And yes, I am aware that the book first appears in Morrowind, which would date back to the 3rd Era. So, it may be that Tosh Raka is no longer alive (we have no idea what the life spans are for Ka Po Tun), but there is precedent for Dragonborn abilities (and Dragonborn Emporer titles/pacts with Akatosh) being passed down via bloodline, obviously. So, there could still be Dragonborn on Akavir we don't know about...which leads to Part 2 of my theory (in comments, maybe):

    • @secretagentt3
      @secretagentt3 2 роки тому

Part 2: The PC from Skyrim is not the last Dragonborn. The Last Dragonborn is on Akavir, and will bring about the End of the World.
Basically, IF Tosh Raka is (was) a dragonborn emporer, than there were other dragonborn on Nirn other than the ones on Tamriel.
The only two people that consider the PC the “Last Dragonborn” are Esbern and Mirrak. Esbern believes this based on his interpretation of the Dragonborn Prophesy (more on that in a second). However, he could not possibly know for sure, and he especially wouldn't have any knowledge of any dragonborn on Akavir. Mirrak has been in Apocrapha, so he has had access to lots of knowledge. He may POTENTIALLY have some proof of the Last Dragonborn's identity, but he never shows it. In addition, we know that mortals that go to Apocrapha have a tendency to go mad. This is probably the nexus for what Mirrak is trying to do...so I doubt he can be trusted with ANYTHING.
So, though we have all ASSUMED the Skyrim PC is the last Dragonborn, we are kind of short on evidence for this, even if it is possible any evidence COULD exist. Most is heresay from people with no proof themselves...only interpretation of prophecy.
Which brings me to the Prophecy of the Dragonborn itself. The Prophesy is basically a list of references to major events on Tamriel: The Great War, The Eruption of Red Mountain, The Civil War in Skyrim, and the Death of the Dragonborn Emporers. The last line reads:
The World-Eater wakes, and the Wheel turns upon the Last Dragonborn.
This seems to talk about Alduin coming back and the appearance of the Last Dragonborn. Esbern, and others, clearly think that the Skyrim PC becoming relevant right as Alduin returns to Tamriel points to the PC being the Last Dragonborn. It is worth noting, however, that the prophesy does not talk specifically about any meeting or confrontation between Alduin and the Last Dragonborn.
I would put forth another interpretation of the prophecy: If you take “The World-Eater wakes” and de-couple it from “the Wheel turns upon the Last Dragonborn”, the prophecy also makes a lot of sense...and holds the same purpose. It lists a bunch of important events, INCLUDING the return of Alduin, LEADING UP TO the arrival of the Last Dragonborn...which is the ACTUAL point of the prophecy.
The prophecy may not be trying to get at a confrontation between the Last Dragonborn and Aludin.
The prophecy may be hinting at the Last Dragonborn themselves bringing about the end of the world.
If there is a Dragonborn Emporer in Akavir, whether it is Tosh Raka or his ancestor, than this Emporer presumably has a large army AND an inborn ablity to use the Thu'um. From a lore perspective, the Thu'um is incredibly powerful. It is safe to say somebody who can use this power, understands its potential, and has an Empire under his rule....is a formidable foe for anybody.
At the end of Skyrim's main quest, if Paarthurnax is still alive, the PC comes back to the top of The Throat of the World. They meet Paarthurnax, along with other dragons, and Paarthurnax says that he is taking the remaining dragons to their homeland...Akavir. This could have huge implications if there is still a Dragonborn alive in Akaivr.
Imagine this: After many years, Dragons return to Akavir. When they arrive, they find a united Empire under the rule of a powerful Dragonborn Emporer, Tosh Raka or the ancestor of Tosh Raka (TR). TR hunts down the dragons that have come back...killing them and taking their power. They learn the ablitily to use shouts no mortal has ever used before...maybe even creating their own shouts as the ancient Nord Heroes that fought Alduin did. After this task is done, the decide to fulfill the ambition that many Akaviri have had over the course of time...the conquering of Tamriel. This initiates a cataclysmic war (which we may see in a future game) and bring about the apocalypse.
This is all a little bit of a stretch, but I contend it wouldn't break with any of the established lore, and would not necessarily contradict my interpreation of the Prophesy of the Dragonborn.

Repost: Besides the Dragonborn, Ulfric Stormcloak is the main character of Skyrim. Everyone in Skyrim has an opinion of him whether good or bad, can shout, has a book written about him and his lore is fleshed out more than any other character in vanilla Skyrim. The fact they willingly put that much effort into his history when world and character building is not as grand as it used to be makes Ulfric the likely champion of the civil war - especially since he commands the Nords of the rebellion whom are zealous warriors fighting for their home vs. soldiers who are given orders. This to me, paves way to a likely cannon stormcloak victory and may hear about him or perhaps even be a recurring character in TES6.

I gotta say, regardless of how one feels about Ulfric, a Stormcloak victory would be more interesting in terms of plot progression.
You can go many different directions with them, vs the Empire which would be more of maintaining the same. Maybe have Ulfric join Hammerfell as allies against the Dominion and Empire like Lu'ah Al-Skaven suggested in her journal. Could lead to an eventual Yoku-Nordic invasion of Highrock with the resurrection of the Nordic Empire. While the erection of such an empire or state would undoubtedly be a wrench in the Dominions plans, the Dominion would be far more likely to focus on the destruction of the Cyrodilic Empire before taking the fight to Skyrim and Hammerfell.

I fully, unironically believe that Dagoth Ur had feelings for Nerevar. The way he talks to your character in game (stuff like calling you "sweet Nerevar") combined with his insistence that you come to him personally at red mountain to fight by his side in the sixth house. It also gives a far more personal reason for his hatred of the tribunal, rather than just hating them for being false gods and for giving Morrowind to the empire, he'd also hate them for killing Nerevar. Obviously they could just be really close friends, but I honestly just find that really unlikely, and lets be honest if one of them were a woman this would be a far more popular theory.

    • @greencrack7671

Tbh, I believe it. They were probably just really close friends because Nerevar was Married to Almalexia. But Dagoth probably could've had hidden romantic feelings for Nerevar and thats why he chose to be his close friend. So as you said he was probably not just mad at the Tribunal for being false diety's, and giving up Morrowind to the Empire, but because they killed the Man he loved in life. Him calling your character "Sweet Nerevar", talking to your character like he does, and making the offers he does. could be him making up for not being honest with his feelings in life, and trying to make up for not asking him to be by his side when the Actual Nerevar was still alive before the battle of Red Mountain.

The lore implies that some of the aedra are parental figures for some of the others. I believe that their spheres of influence intentionally crossover to back this up.
For example; Akatosh who represents time is the father of Arkay, as the cycle of life to death takes time, and his mother is Mara, as love in time creates new life.
Mara is also mother to Stendar, who is full of mercy, but being the apologist of man, his father is Shezzar (which is why mara is associated with both akatosh and shor) who is the forefather of man.
Shezzar is also father to Zenithar (notice his sons carry his namesake) as people are required for crafting and mercantile, just like material components, provided by Kynareth.
Kynareth is associated with Zenithar in his Knights of the Nine quest, which implies that people cannot create anything let alone trade it, if Kynareth doesn't first supply them with materials such as iron and stone.
Unfortunately, Dibella and Julianos don't fit into this as comfortably, with my best link being beauty comes from nature (kyne) and creative intelligence, entering julianos' sphere.
On another note, they way I distinguish Y'ffre and Kyne who both represent nature, is that Kyne represents inanimate nature, like the wind, sea and stone, while Y'ffre represents living nature, such as animals and trees, which both require mating... speaking of, Dibella and Y'ffre both appreciate art and music... what a coincidence.

She refers the Nerivarine to the slaver trader Savile Imayn BY NAME, even though Imayn lives on the island of Tel Aruhn, nowhere near Zainab territory. More interestingly, we don't see any ashlanders using slaves, never mind buying them, only capturing and selling. We know that 3rd era Dunmer will enslave other dunmer, and I imagine a lot of ashlanders go missing in the Grazelands...

I’ll repost mine though it was more of a making an obvious mistake the developers made make sense in lore but basically Ebonarm wasn’t retconned the warp in the west just deleted him from everyone’s memories making him insanely weak due to the complete lack of worshipers.
The two pieces of evidence I have for this is the book you find in the Remnant quest line in Skyrim with a book literally named Ebonarm (which to be fair is very questionable since it’s creation club which is generally considered non-canon) the other piece is the Ebony warrior I believe this is Ebonarm himself but at this point he’s more like a ridiculously powerful mortal instead of a god since everyone forgetting him weakened him that much I believe that him wanting to fight the Dragonborn is actually him trying to get people to remember and his way of doing that is fighting the greatest hero of the age since people would surely talk about that and even possibly remember him.

    1. They exist in different kalpic cycles. And I think lorkon won in the fallout one. We don't see any elves or other races and we have confirmation of ancient "alien" races through Lorenzo Cabot. Maybe these alien races are actually the men and mer of the old who fought out against each other and led to the destruction of mer. They can also be the ancient races of gods who fought against armies of lorkon. Also the dunwich monster shares resemblemce with daedra of haermeous mora orr... The story resembles the deep ones from oblivion.
    2. The fallout universe is the 9th or 10th era. Now. Hear me out. There is one theory that dwarves or dwemer were transported forward in time to a moment when machines and automatons (robots) even more advanced than their to the point of having sentience exist. Also there is that story from Michael (a formal bethesda studios writer) about a sentient mining robot from the 9th era being trapped inside the eye of magnus who has been sending distress calls for help. We also know that time travel is possible because of the events of ESO. We can also formed a lot of sweet rolls in fallout and we know that sweet rolls are dissaperaring from skyrim.
    3. A guy from fallout with an extreme multiple personality disorder is the dreamer the God who is thinking the whole elder scrolls universe into existence. And every time he takes a sweet roll he removes one from the es world. Technically not the same universe but close enough.

I’m going to say that Alduin was Skyrim’s tower. It fits some of Paarthunax’s foreboding about defeating Alduin. Also the other towers had some sort of magic “heart”, and the Throat of the World doesn’t. (I suppose you could apply this to Paarthunax, but Alduin makes more sense as the eternal first born of Akatosh). His destruction continued what happened with the eruption of Red Mountain for the destabilization of Nirn. The next game is going to be a direct conflict with the Thalmor to prevent the destruction of Nirn.
I think additionally, if Shorr and Auriel are metaphors for a real conflict between opposed forces every cycle, then the next game will echo that structure with a Shezzarine vs an Auriel avatar. It’ll still have a happy ending so that people will play it forever, but it’ll be another plot about thwarting a prophecy of the end of the world.

I think when the numidium was created Kagrenac, under pressure by the Battle of Red Mountain, foolishly demanded of the Brass Tower that his people be given the God like power (immortality). The Numidium obliged but instead created a new plane of oblivion for the dwemer and immediately transported the whole race there. The other Daedric Princes having learned about the ascension of the dwemer to godhood became enraged that mere mortals would dare elevate them selves to the level of the gods. They they joined in a pact to invade destroy the Dwemer plane. Among the spoils of war was Volendrung and Spellbreaker which are now Daedric Artifacts, and numerous dwemer animunculi which are still summonable from oblivion by mortal conjurerors on Nirn (dwemer spheres and spiders can be summomed in Skyrim by use of spell or stave).

Peryite is the brother of Akitosh, both depicted as dragons, both follow their own natural orders. Maybe Peryite wanted to go with Magnus but stayed because of Auriel, later had a falling out wiht him, and created a plain of Oblivion to get away. Maybe he was the original god of life and death but since there was a falling out the divines had to fine a human to mantle, hence Arkay. Massive Specualtion but has some pieces.

It just seems like too much of a coincidence that they are both dragon gods of order.

It's only impossible for the mortal mind to comprehend the truth because upon knowing you cease to be mortal.
    One way or another.

Aldmeris was a giant super continent on nirn before the sundering of the continent in the dawn era. That’s why the Nords say Kyne created man on the throat of the world and then they migrated north to the atmora landmass and then back south after it split off .

That also explains why the dwemer and snow elves have seemingly always been in northern Tamriel.

    Adding the same one from your previous post;
    Dragonborn can mean one of two things, which is why different Emperors have been able to keep the Dragonfires lit for most of of the time since Alessia;
In the case of a “true” Dragonborn, they are gifted the soul of a dragon by Akatosh before birth because of the significance they will play in Tamriel, such as Tiber Septim and the Last Dragonborn, which would explain why they accomplish so much more than most Emperors.
Those who are chosen to be Emperor are blessed as Dragonborn upon lighting the Dragonfires only in order to keep the pact with Akatosh so that the barrier between Mundus and Oblivion stays established.
This is why different Emperors from different lines are able to do so. They weren’t born true Dragonborn, merely blessed with a fraction of a dragon’s soul by Akatosh when they ascended the throne.
Edit; there are instances where this hasn’t happened, most notably Aquilarios, but maybe Akatosh didn’t bless him because he saw Aquilarios would play a much more important role by aiding the Vestige instead of being Emperor.

Okay final time I'll post this and I'll do my best to support this through evidence.
The Altmer practice infanticide to ensure their children are born under the right birthsign. First and foremost one of my favorite pieces of evidence; using the Apprentice sign as a High Elf (I always try it) even though you become brittle and fragile to all magic (a nice double edged sword build anyways) you still reap some benefits. That being said it got me thinking about how often the guy says they practice this, something like 9 out of every 10? I know there's 13 total signs to be born under so perhaps this allows more wiggle room in the ones the Altmer consider to be "Proper" signs? Would very much like to hear you guys talk about this in further detail, thank you all for the great work!
    P.S. Drew has fire takes!

i was talking about how one god can be 2 entities and both be real and also not at the same time, it’s paradoxical but it works that’s for sure
