They write everything, rap everything, and even play their own instruments (they were originally a punk band). They even produce a lot of their own stuff. It’s ALL from them.
"get it together now" is the most slept from Beastie Boys to fcken Hip Hop period, the production alone is one of those ones.....yo I remember back in highschool "get it together now" was being played all over da streets of NY
@@andresarias3178 Yeaj. I’m not the biggest Beastie Boys fan so I won’t know all their song titles correctly lol. But I knew it was something like that lol Thanks
One thing some people don't notice with this song is that in each verse they are rhyming the same vowel over and over again without changing. These guys are great. I'm sure others have recommended songs like "Sure Shot" and "Shake Your Rump". One amazing song of theirs that gets way too overlooked is their collab with Q-Tip called "Get It Together".
Love this song. This video won the 1999 Grammy for best Rap Performance by a duo or group. The Beastie Boys also won the Grammy for Best Alternative Album the same year for ‘Hello Nasty’.
The wop is an old school dance. That's been around since the '70s at least, I think. It was a little before my time, so I didn't see people doing it much in my neighborhood growing up. The running man was popular when I got into hip hop.
Thank you for such a great reaction. I’m so glad you watched the lyric video first (& twice at that!). So many people get distracted by the official video and miss out on the lyrics and music. 2:17 Isn’t this change-up fun?!? 3:17 and this bass. ❤ A note about the video. Before cable, if it was a rainy day and we couldn’t play outside, we watched whatever was on tv. For lots of us, that was Japanese Godzilla movies. This video transported us to nostalgic feels via common culture and playful beats. Thanks again!
They make the beats, the sampling, they shoot the videos and they play the instruments too. RIP MCA. He was the Thunder while Mike D and Ad Rock were the Lightning. You gotta react to "The New Style".
good job. more: high plains drifter, shadrach, pass the mic, sure shot, the new style, brass monkey, root down, looking down the barrel of a gun, get it together, professor booty, and then just keep going, man. they have almost no duds. the kings of rap.
Video was Homage to old Godzilla and Robot movies. Robot scenes were filmed at the old Godzilla studios which is why they're mobbing around Japan and in the subways
I was watching MTV the exact second this came on for the first time in 1993. something no one has ever talked about since is that the point of this whole video was that they were fighting to bring the robot dance back in the video or it was something about bringing the robot dance back I don't know if the entire video was that exact point but that was part of it.
Let's talk about when everything drop out except the drums and an upright bass 3:12 Such a sick contrast and change up but hard not to chase the lyrics. Pretty sure that's MCA instead of a sample

Thats some real talent!
They have a joint with Q Tip called “Get it together” and another with Nas called “Too many MC’s”. React to those if you can

@TheNuyotican lol only reason I knew that was because I'm a huge Nas fan.
Get It Together is by far the best Beastie Boys song.
oh yeah dude and I love how you do the lyrics first and then the actual video. that by itself is worth a subscribe.
Beastie Boys-The New Style

You should definitely check out the lyrics and video for "Alive", these guys really want to change the world and make you think.
I love the jojo references. They clearly watched anime. Also theyre firing shots ar the haters. This is hip hop
Also they didnt have permission to shoot in the Japanese subway. That’s why people have genuine reactions towards them
