- We're back in the Commonwealth, this time more prepared than the last. What's a water tower? A quarry? you're talking nonsense, I'm european.
Anyways, join me for our first (of hopefully man) Fallout 4 cut content dive. This one is all about a secret unused safehouse above Diamond city's entrance.

i wish the entire stadium was used as a city, i get half of it is flooded and farmland but there is still generic boxes up near kellog's house that dont have doors or anything
I remember back in 2015, people were upset how small diamond city actually turned out to be. It’s a real tell tale sign of old gen consoles when you compare DC to some locations in Starfield
akila is diamond city if consoles could run games
@@SirMZKI thought they sacrifice the size of Diamond City in favor of the settlement building thing that the game allows, so the map is filled with "small cities" instead of just one or two big ones
The Diamond City Expansion mod fixes that. It uses all of the stands for housing, and really makes it feel like a city.
@@dmytro732 I've installed that mod. The only thing I don't like about it is the NCP's the author put in it are bland and boring.
Fallout games are a treasure trove of cut content, specifically New Vegas. Theres almost more cut content than whats actually in the game. The Vault 21 escape tunnel is still accessible in game also.
damn fallout 4 coverage now this will be good
now this is based
You can get up there without any exploits or a jetpack. Bethesda has been leaving gems like this for those of us who explore since Arena back in the 90's. You want your head to explode? Go explore the under water and the islands just out of bounds in Far Harbor!
How do you climb
@@itdobelikedattho8112 access is from building across street.
Requires some jet or buffjet.
@@brianmcmeat1306 nope.
@@SecretlySeven ive actually done it myself, like many others without console commands. pa jetpack makes it easy but ultimately jet/ buffjet helps a lot as when it slows time down its also making the physics engine do weird stuff like making jumps last about 4x longer than normal.
I wish that area would be turned into a buyable penthouse so you could actually get to it and build the room out in your own way. The mural is so cool and it feels like such a waste of a cool space.
Mods
It's not unreachable. As you yourself mentioned, there is a way to climb through the building across the street and jump across. Very easy to get to with power armour that has a jet pack. I always assumed it was a bar or cafe of the stadium, perhaps for people who had private booths or something. But since the entrances have been blocked by collapse, the residents of Diamond City don't make use of it. It's more of a little hidden easter egg or secret than a cut content. In my opinion at any rate.
Imagine if it was for the battle of diamond city.
Okay hear me out, let's say one of the factions was completely bad guys and you had to help defend it and as your on the roof you get to help shut the gate as you can open it again.
But then you gotta get down a different way cause the roof has been blown up and stairs destroyed.
It would have been a cool idea to defend diamond city
@@alexanderstewart5162 and they do talk about how it was attacked at some point. Super mutants I think it was.
its based on a real place at fenway plaza
@@Rigel_Chiokis interesting...
If I could have one bit of Fo4 cut content restored it would definitely be the vault 120 questline. An underwater vault would have been so cool.
Totally. But really, ANY sea-based content would have been good. Considering how much of the map is water, the lack of sea creatures, usable boats, and underwater areas is so conspicuous.
There is a mod for that one.
The original entrance (according to a developer) is that corner that has a store with a broken upper floor, in the final version it is difficult to reach the upper floor, and impossible to reach the stairs, but there were fire escapes from the upper floor that allow the player to reach the roof.
If only that window to the flat textured fire escape stairs was not blocked.
1:05 "there's literally no entrance" except the massive gaping holes in the wall that you came in through
Man, this takes me back, I remember watching a tutorial of a guy promoting this location as a 100% safe home, showing that you had to do some parkour to get there and I thought "It's a shame it isn't a full location as to tp there with fast travel"
I can’t believe this game is ten years old next year…. 🤯
Feels like yesterday I was watching the reveal trailer with tears in my eyes
And the engine is twice as old!
My theory is that it was the original location the Home Plate player home was to be. But because it sits on the edge of the loading area for Diamond City proper it was probably too glitchy so they wound up giving us the one inside which was....underwhelming to say the least. I don't think they completely scrapped the concept, however, as you see something quite similar in the Nuka World dlc with the restaurant that overlooks Main Street. And having worked with the CK personally, adding stuff is far easier than removing it once you've started laying navmesh and doing previs so they likely left it in there as an easter egg and threw a dead settler in as a hint it was to be a home of some sort at one time.
If you look at Fenway Park IRL, that part of it has a street lvl walk way up to it and there is a cafe of sorts on the top floor.
It felt natural to watch a fallout 4 video and a video from sirMZK, it took me a good minute to realise I wasn't in night city. Happy to explore the wasteland.
Hell yeah brotha glad you enjoy it
You can enter this room outside DC. If you go to the junkyard on the left and climb up the two buildings, you can get there with a bit of parkour
i knew i remembered this from a couple years ago. you can climb up a building nearby, take some jet, and jump to it
There is a mod on Nexus mods called "Usable Diamond City House" that lets you use this as a player home. I had that years ago and it was great (you still have to parkour or jet pack up though).
The cut penthouse would be a great starting location for a DLC quest. It could be home to a dead scavenger with a holotape pointing to a unique item such as NCR ranger armor or a fat man that can fire 8 nukes at the same time like in FO3
Maybe they originally meant for the whole stadium to be accessible, possibly part of the overworld.
Maybe, but i think the reason was that bosten already gets pretty bad framerate on console and having all those details would make consoles run like a powerpoint, Ive played it on the Xbox and it gets bad framerates and they probobly did not want to stress the console more than it already is
@@Super_ATI Yeah even on high end PC's at the time, framerates above 30 in downtown Boston were rare.
From the bottom level in the part of the stadium across where the super mutants are there is that collapsed second floor where there is a boarded up doorway and an in-tact window blocking the flat textured stairwell that looks like if it wasn't there would have been the way up. As a window instead of a doorway it makes no sense. I lay money on it that used to be the roof access during the game's development.
I remember watching videos to get into this room back in the day! awesome to see it again
Likewise I remember making tutorials on it nearly 10 years ago lol. Nice to see this game making a comeback
That space is still quite reachable with a jet pack. Discovered it while doing a thorough investigation of all things diamond city. It is not cut from the game it is there and you can access it if you can get to it. I took it as being a safe place if you can get to it. The only thing it lacks is a storage thing like a chest or safe though you can store things in the power armor repair station. There are other places on the exterior roof that if you step into them you will fall right through and wind up down on the street.
5:09 that wall makes me think it might just be a kind of hangout center for guards on the roof or something that maybe got cut out
Some ambience music would add a lot to that new Cinematography, otherwise awesome vid as always 👍
I did have music on this video, but UA-cam decided to copyright claim it… next time
@@SirMZK UA-cam at it's finest...
pretty sure it was intended as a location you would only be able to access using the power armor jetpack as theres a few locations you can only get to by using that and platforming across the rooftops.
2:50 Ambient Occlusion is soft shadow simulation to make 3d object seem more realistic in environments with indirect lighting. I think what you're getting at is collision detection, where the mesh plane (in this case the skylight frame) detects the raindrops hitting it and culls them out, so only the ones that pass through the gaps in the mesh get through.
I think the whole game was supposed to be more vertical, as in a lot of roofs accessible and traversable, so i think this is just remnants of that
I think if changing outdoor cells was easier in terms of compatibility there would maybe be more mods adding and changing to these spaces
If only we'd had that instead of the crappy Home Plate house. In Cyberpunk, very little cut content actually remained in the game in any fashion. I went around with mods and explored very in-depth. There are only two places I can say for certain content was cut. One was in V's apartment building. The broken elevator to the left of his apartment actually DOES work if you can get into it and attempts to take you down to ground level (the courtyard in the middle of the apartment building), but the game kills you mid-descent; this area was clearly meant to be accessible, but they canned it for some unknown reason. The metro system was also clearly meant to be rideable at one time, but that appears to have been cut fairly early in the development as only one or two stations are fully fleshed out. They most likely (correctly) realized it would be a rarely-used feature because it simply lacks fun, so they canned it early on.
I've gotten to it. If you use a jetpack you can get to it. And if you use Jet, you can jump your way over. I believe Oxhorn has video of it that I have seen.
Maybe, in the early development stage of the game, it was supposed to be a more accessible part, but with this room accessing inside AND outside of Diamond City, they just couldn't figure out how to make it work. So they cut it off from the inside part of Diamond City, and left it for intrepid explorers to find...
They could have had an elevator from inside Diamond City to that bricked off doorway up top. Instead the elevator from outside behind where Danny stands guard going up to the mayor's quarters exists instead.
@@Shunn3d They could, but you still have the problem of trying to see 2 cells at the same time. The Mayor's office only looks out on Diamond city, not the area outside of diamond city.
Nah you can parkour your way to this spot. Just an Easter egg. Could of been lost content potentially but I still think it's just a fun Easter egg
Very interesting stuff. Given the baseball mural, my main thought is that this must have been an early version of what later became 'Home Plate'.
The surrounds suggest some kind of full-on quest was intended to acquire or gain access to this space. Only, for some reason, Bethesda devs decided to relocate Home Plate closer to the market area, in that cramped ghodawful warehouse space, and make it easier to acquire.
Here's hoping a modder out there will take up the challenge. :)
There was a lot of content cut from Fallout 4, so many expansions and DLC promised during the game announcements and launch, then just nothing. What we got wasn't what was promised
Finding cut content is like crack man
Addictive and ruins your life! (Or life as an actual player)
Diamond city was supposed to be twice the size, it was too unstable so they cut alot of intended content
From 2077 to the aftermath of it
I think the developers originally intended Diamond City to be an outside location that was fully part of the main world map. But they quickly discovered that their game engine couldn't handle that, so they had to make Diamond City an inside instance location. I suspect this apartment was meant to be one of the 'bridge' locations that was the developers flexing hey, you can walk from inside to outside without going through an instance. Yeah the city is walled in, but it's part of the main map! And you can live here, between the two.
But then they made Diamond City an instanced spot and cut that lil' wasteland home. Instead giving the player a home in the instanced city.
I explain it away by saying it’s the silver shroud secret lair or the real non synth mayor that got locked away hence the skeleton on the roof
This penthouse has so much potential.
Ever try building an elevator or stairs to it from the upper outside deck of Home Plate?
I got up there and closed the gate to Diamond City on my first run.
It’s called rain occlusion, it’s a graphics setting
I'm strange but, 250+ hours into playing FO4 and i've still not been to Diamond City! :P
??? i've gotten up there by jumping. it's one of the places I usually stop by for a mini nuke.
See this is what I wish they would do, Go back and re-add the cut content when they bring out all these anniversary editions and what-have-you instead of Creation Club, OR have the creation club modders FINISH the cut content and release it in CC.
Pretty sure this isn't cut, its just a secret room since you can get up there in multiple different ways legit, jetpack, jet/buffjet, just regular parkour, etc.
Can you make your visit of that appartment darker please? Switch on your pip boy light for Todd's sake! Also, there are better video out there that not only show the place in a way the viewer can actually see but also shows how easy it is to get there early in the game by using some Jet.
i've been up there before, there is a way but it isn't easy and kinda glitchy. helps to have a jetpack while under jet. part of my explore the rooftops phase years ago lol. more than likely cut content
Populate windows you can see through, it gives life but who would want to make more assets just used the old ones
Wow. did not know that such an area existed.
guess I shoulda looked up.
also that mural was neat.
Sweet. Thank you. I think I may make a mod there if there isn't one already. Also that symbol could be a railroad symbol for a cache.
Tho it has long been lost to an update there was an alternate start mod that could put you in here for your start
Thinking it was going to be something related to Kellogg. Maybe to be used for a flashback or something or a placeholder to model scenes?
If im correct the mod ' diamond city fens restorers this abandoned section of dimond city which is awesome
It's a free penthouse for those who can access it. It isn't impossible at all. I've used it many times
You can get up there with jet pack on power armor
I think I’ve been there before, it does have penthouse vibes!
Player home mod here would be great
NGL after playing Cyberpunk, this "penthouse" from a visual standpoint is rather unimpressive. But then again, this game came out 9 years ago
It’s also the nuclear apocalypse
@@Dirty_Dan109 post-apocalypse*, we’re like 210 years after the Great War now
Im liking the fo4 content, nice change from Cyberpunk
Thanks man, used to do this stuff back in 2015 when the game was new. Not quite as exciting as 2077 but still scratches an itch
It would be cool if a Creation Club mod author readded it into the game as a penthouse player home.
They probably intended to use it but cut it off and ignored completing that part of the game as being unessential to meet game release time constraints.
I wish this game didn't introduce settlements. I hate the fact that I'm constantly bombarded. Leave me alone, I don't care 😂
I don't remember being bombarded by any of it if you just ignore them
Did he just call sheets of plywood "cardboard"?
Could of just jumped inside. No clip isn't required or any glitches. Climb up, Jump the little rail and you're in. I really need to create a youtube channel seriously.
Can’t you reach that with a flying power armor?
This could be a nice place for a tiny settlement
Guessing that’s what it was originally intended for
love these vids. I wish this type of content got more views. Maybe it's due to the editing idk
Do you think the editing isn’t good enough? Too much or too little? Genuinely curious for feedback
@@SirMZK Personally, I like the simple nature of this channel. I love home-grown channels. But nowadays everything needs high editing and every second to be intriguing
but idk
Idk if you can cover this but Fallout 4 has so many cut vaults.
It’s on my list, gonna be a big few videos
Seems like it was the original Home Plate but it would have taken 1-2 more loading screens to get there, and was cut as a result.
Alternatively, this is probably Example #47493893929 of Bethesda planning a game beyond their engine's capacity.
any oother games you're going to dive into for changed/cut content?
Fallout cut content lets goooo!!
cant you just build up to it to gain access?
Love your content keep it up
This might’ve been an attempt to create a premium suite like the ones you can rent at Fenway just as a nice detail I always thought they were cool and I wanted to watch a game from one in the fall instead of having my face be cold in the stands or on the wall with a poor view
The channel.. mostly cut content... with the occasional train ride.
I’ve been exiting for this lmao
This area is save storage, I used it on 3 characters as Homebase and you can jump through the window, intow it Just jump over from a nearby roof. You don't even need a Jetpack just some Jet/Buffjet is enough. You can even Jetpack over from other roofs...I do it on Xbox without mods by ingame mechanics... I'm just baffled that you insist so hard that it is unreachable, where it clearly is.
cardboard? you mean plywood
I found it wen the game first came out
Can you access this with a power armor jetpack?
I believe so yeah
With mods you can enter workshop mode and change it
do you know if the furniture like counters and stuff are part of the precombine? I want to delete them if I'm building there
@@murmurghle I don't remember but there are mods that allow you to delete anything you want
@@Redneck_Hero Ohohohoho nooo. Those mods do that by changing (and usually breaking) the precombines. And breaking the precombines is the easiest way to go from 60 to 15 fps.
i honestly kinda feel like it someone who thought there would be less loading screens in the game cause on other other side of the wall it looks into the city itself so maybe at one point diamond city was suppose to be like in the open world not a loading screen ima be real if the next fallout has even more load screens its over bro so many locations that shouldnt be load screens are load screens. like im not expecting much from the company who gives us "next gen" updates re-releases skyrim aton still uses game engine thats held together by bubblegum and duct and doesnt even to fix bugs in there games to not to just add more load screens in the next games they make starfield from what ive seen is the worst of this.
You can get here without console commands
It's a dev room, pretty common in games, usually for testing purposes.
me when i purposefully spread misinformation on the internet
If you don’t cover the underwater vault, you like Bethesda are cutting 1/4 of the map.
My brain can't comprehend hearing your voice, but seeing Fallout. I DON'T LIKE CHANGE!
lol it's only here and there, cyberpunk is still my main love
It's a good video, but I'm baffled at why you keep saying it's "completely unreachable" through conventional means or without console commands. Tons of players get in that room quite easily with parkour and Jet. You even mention parkour at the beginning, but then shift gears to "completely unreachable" for the rest of the video.
All you did was find a dev room just saying
It’s not a dev room homie, they’re very very different
@@SirMZK no you found a former dev room. There are several in the fallout series. Most get moved and deactivated.
