I've been using my Ruko GIM2 for a year now and I have NEVER had video wobble or vibrate.
Whilst I'm super-happy that yours is working well, you saw the wobble I had yes? I can only talk about my own personal experiences with the drone

I’ve looked at a lot of reviews on this drone and I think this is very good review for those considering buying it. I bought it during last Cyber Monday for $379 plus tax ( supposedly a deal ). Intuitively I returned it without opening it and got my money back. I bought a mini 2 in December on sale from Sam’s Club.
Glad it helped - it's not a bad quad by any means, but with the price so close to a DJI Mini - it's less attractive
I just got this drone. I got it because Amazon had it on sale for $367 then had a $150 coupon for it so I got it for $217. From the reviews I have be seeing, it seems better than a toy drone but not worth the full price. Glad I found it for what I did.

Good review sir. I just got my drone. I am trying to figure out what is the 4th item left on the app. It is right left of the controller voltage.
Hmm, that's a good question. I flew around seemingly ignoring that completely, and as I'm sure you have discovered, it's not in the manual. I'd hazard a guess it's some kind of DOP (Dilution of precision) value where 0 is excellent, up to 5 is great, 10-20 is fair and above 20 is poor. But that's a bit of a guess. It's certainly worth pinging them an email and asking.

I would just like to confirm your evaluation of this drone.
While this drone is absolutely capable of flying in winds above 40mph or roughly 75-80kmh, the quality of video and picture definitely suffer from the light gimble spring allowing so much additional movement. Perhaps there are aftermarket cameras or camera updates from Ruko? I have not checked, so I don't know. The size and weight are limiting factors for a beginner or novice who wants something to fly for fun because it does require faa registration here in the US.
The odd control limitations are a challenge, but certainly be overcome with enough practice and or previous experience with flying other drones.
The biggest positives of this particular drone are it's ability to actually handle the higher winds and the distances it can actually fly.
I am at 4,600ft/1,400m elevation with substantial wind most of the time and there are few drones that can actually fly up here.
The Mavi is definitely a superior overall drone in comparison, but if it can't fly, is it really better?😉🤣👌

Did you have any trouble getting the footage on the sd card to play on your computer. I have a Mac and I can’t seem to get QuickTime to open it.
I didn't - I just took a look at the original files from the video and Quicktime inspector shows them as h.264, with an mp4 extension. I can't remember if it was with this drone or another (so so many) but I recall having an incomplete file which was unreadable. It is worth formatting your card in the drone as well
Exactly the f11 from 4 year's back with new software of course.
But the same sound i gave it away but a decent drone now even better .
But still no gimbal then you get better video even 1080p would be nice don't expect 4k but it would be decent.
I'm thinking the gimbal mount must have changed. I reviewed the SJRC version and it was pretty rock solid - no shaking there!

I saw a review on this drone last week from a roofer who uses Drones for surveying and inspections. He's not a drone reviewer but made two key observations, the camera shaking (which was even worse in his review) and the gimbal stops short of looking straight down. He estimated it only rotates down 80-85°. He was not impressed and is giving his away. For the money, it's a hard pass.
Yeah, you'd want an absolutely rock solid picture for that sort of inspection. It was hard for me to tell if it would look straight down... but in retrospect I should have inspected the camera itself rather than try and judge it from the camera view :) Too much isn't it - by quite a margin
100 % agree i have all mini series including the mini 3 pro and even the Mavic Mini or and now the Mini 2 S E seems better quality although its only 2.7 K

The 3km range is real. The phone connects to controller via wifi. The controller acts as a bridge and has amazing range. The speeds are controlled via controller. Three speeds available.. Camera, Normal, & Sport. Sport will do 28mph....
I eventually found the speed change after I left the field :). It was breaking up a little at around 1km - just got a bit laggy in the video for me
Hey I was hoping that you could help me with an issue. After using smart audio my switches and what they are supposed to do got mixed up. Have you ever seen anything like that?
Weird video to ask this question on... but no, I've never seen adding a smart audio based VTX causing an issue with switches. I'd suggest you go onto betaflight and test all your switches to see what's happening whilst checking the mix screen on your radio
@@CurryKitten I wasn’t sure if you would see it if it was on an older video. I’m using Inav. Maybe there is some kind of bug there.
@@thatguyblue4811 I've used iNav with SmartAudio without an issue. SmartAudio and the mode switching is really massively far apart from each other - it's really odd to think that they'd ever be linked. Misconfiguration perhaps? Double and triple check everything
@@CurryKitten mid configuration? How do you mean? I didn’t set up the ports tab if that’s what you mean. Just wired it up to TX1 and it worked.
If you didn't do any setup, then how do you know if it's configured correctly or not? Did you go into Betaflight and verify all the mode changing using your switches?
Is there one main company that’s making all these drones or the parts for them? They all seem to have similar looking manuals too. Holy stone, Ruko, SJRC etc
Interesting question - I doubt I'd ever get a true answer from the makers. I've certainly seen the same components. Especially in the cheaper sub $100 wifi quads, there's always this little wifi module attached to the camera which is absolutely the same component on loads of quads.
Most likely. Most companies usually use one manufacturer as they already have the equipment and know how to create what the company wants. It’s easier than hiring some new company that’s never manufactured a drone before. Unless the company has enough money and the time to make their own products in house.
How did you do screen recording?
For iOS and most Android devices you can swipe down and start screen recording - just part of the OS

I have the Ruko U11 and DJI mini 2 se. And DJI runs circles around the Ruko, this isn't a competition at all
I agree - the titles there because if you read the marketing stuff and look at the example pics they give, you'd think it does.
Because of this review I will not buy Holy Stone. I was going to but not now. Any ideas on a replacement in this price range?
Curious as this review is about a Ruko quad?! But, yes - in this price range you can just about get a Mavic Mini. There's a lot of decent models on the 2nd hand market where people have traded up and you can get some real bargains.
If you paid 399 pound you got taken to the cleaners. I am about to pull the trigger on this drone a 216 dollars Canadian from Aliexpress( abt 120 pounds). I have had the previous versions and loved them and as you said at 100 quid it is a no brainer. Also I have had a version with the 2 axis eis gimbal and it was rock steady. I can only assume that you got a dud .
I do normally get the duds if there's any going. Glad you got this for a more reasonable price
I flew mine In a very high wind and got no gimble shake on mine.. 🤷🏽♂️
Good revue... And yes i agree... If in the market for this type of Quad... i would pay the extra for DJI.... Which is also too expensive.. but has the proven ability to do everything well.. And the very reason why they can price there products so high... Shame really as that means they have the monopoly at Hobby level.
I'm still ever hopeful that a brand will come along, be cheap and be decent. It doesn't have to do everything DJI does to make it attractive. Just have decent stability in it's flying and it's picture, come home when you press a button, and manage about 500m of decent video range. Am I asking too much ?

This drone is a badged version of the SJRC F11s 4k, identical app, available for £200 with 2 batteries. Amazon mark up is ridiculous.
It looks identical, but I flew the SJRC F11 and it was really nice. No shake, but the 4k was a bit noisy. Differences in the software and perhaps the wifi module/camera area. £200 seems a more reasonable price
Can You turn Meters into Feet on the Controller??
Your controller and monitor will be opposite each other. That way you get both at the same time.

Exactly the problem. Ruko didn't like my tag line, but I explained that if the price is up there, then you have to make a comparison.
Yes, the purchase cost is certainly too high ( obviously the Mfg doesn’t wish to hear that) for what the manufacturer gives to the buyer. $195.00 USD is certainly the Maximum you would want to expend on this quad otherwise it’s just fiscally unwise. DJI is going to be hard to beat for what they offer.
Yes indeed. If you price is the same, and your performance is nowhere near, then you are over-charging

I'm not fussed .I would be more concerned about attracting attention from people who don't like drones.
SJRC f11 is the same drone and you can get those for £219
It's very similar (I did actually review the SJRC version!) Certainly the quad looked the same, but the video quality is different, the controller is a little different and the SJRC drone didn't have a vibrating gimbal (even though I flew it in higher winds) The SJRC didn't get quite the range though. Perhaps the same shell/electronics with different software?
You want to check out the Flyhal FX1 Pro drone, which is the same as the Bugs 16. Flys just as good as my dji drones

Ruko seem to be running the risky strategy of pretending it's £500 but always discounting it..... it's still too much though
