I bought this drone over a year ago out of curiousity since I heard so many good things about it. I actually enjoy flying my Ruko a little more than my DJI Mavic. It's certainly not perfect, but you really can't beat the amount of features and capabilities of this drone for its affordable price.
Yes, it's obviously NOT a DJI or other fancy drone, so you truly can't compare it between brands. Keep your expectations real to avoid disappointing yourself after buying one by watching and reading as many reviews about the F11 GIM2 as you can. That's what I did, and I am certainly very happy with this drone 👍
That was a very impressive flight. Congrats to Ruko for making a quad with more than decent range capabilities 👏🏻
It’s solid, but still has control weakness. The newest model has added optical flow sensors. If the long range control is ironed out, they could make some waves in the drone world.

Great video showing the range capability. I just bought this same drone a month or so ago and I got it on Amazon on a Lightning deal where I had just like 15 min. to purchase it. I got it with tax for $379.00 and it came with the upgraded controller, 3 batteries, extra propellers, extra cords for charging batteries and hooking up my phone to the controller, and a landing pad. I saved a little over $200.00 of what they are asking now. I am sure glad that I didn't pass it up. On top of all that when I got my drone one of the three batteries would not take a charge so I emailed Ruko and they sent me a brand new battery at no charge so they even have great customer service!
It’s a good bird and has pretty darn good remote connectivity.
So I need to ask you a question. I have the same set up as you with the updated controller and in your video you were hitting about 60 satellites on your screen while flying and I get pretty close to that sometimes but other times I am bouncing back and forth from 0 to 7 or so, am I not connected correctly? @@DadRandom
Beautiful place to fly a drone great footage and that sucker does have a pretty nice camera on it for a budget drone.
Yes, a great performer, great in strong wind, the RUKO F11 GIM2, just a few points. The new controller is not made by RUKO, it’s produced by a supplier. The exact same controller is delivered with the SPIDY HS360S by Holy Stone. Since I own that as well, I can tell that the joysticks do have the same insensitive behaviour as RUKO’s. When moving a joystick slowly, nothing happens initially, then the desired effect is suddenly kicking in, unlike the smooth, sensitive path of DJI and FIMI controller joysticks. That is Ok once high in the air, however, taking off, especially landing, and manoeuvring the drone close to the ground, is a bit of a challenge, due to abrupt moves. One measure to compensate this out a bit, is to select the lowest speed before approaching ground. BTW, there is no optical flow sensor which is making an indoors hovering functional test a bit dangerous since the joysticks must be used in any moment to correct that constant drifting. Another point unknown to most is the fact that the old controller also provided that range because the smartphone connected to the controller - NOT to the drone, NO drone WiFi. (Some drone video bloggers were surprised about that ‘incredible WiFi range of the drone’, different concept). Watch this video at 12:05 ua-cam.com/video/6DAFgInacdw/v-deo.html. Saw your Roku F11 GIM 2 video . Nice flight. You mentioned that if I was to get this drone, which is most likely, how do I know that I will be getting the upgraded controller like yours? If I order from Amazon, not sure if the one will be the upgrade controller.
@@robertbowers2926 make sure the controller and image are the same one you get. If they are not, you can request a refund easily. All of the F11’s now I believe are the newer ones. When I said that, they were switching to the new system.
I'm assuming you figured out that the compass wasn't messing up, it turns with you. That really threw me off at first.
Good starter drone. I really wouldn't call it true 4k. Even with my settings adjusted to 4k on youtube, I could see artifacting and a very flat image. It's no Autel or DJI but it is good to see that other drone companies are trying to get the science right. I hope you didn't pay to much for it. Seems like this is a great drone for someone just getting into the hobby without spending a lot of money.

+@CoreyDS40 the best drone for the money is the DJI Mini 2SE or get a refurbished mini 2 - you won’t regret this advice. Been flying for 6 years! Biggest mistake I ever made was buying budget drones. Now DJI birds are selling for really great value.

Thank you for this video. I’m searching this drone because I have the same one. I just got it. I love except for one thing. The battery only lasts 10 minutes on speed mode, and 13 minutes on normal mode. I have to be doing something wrong. They claim between the 2 batteries that it should be 62 minutes fly time. Any info on this would be very helpful. Again, thank you for the video

I will be flying recreational and have been looking at this drone. It says it's RID compliant?? What is the better drone to have. This one or the DJI mini 2se. I'm thinking I will be adding a skin to the mini2 se if I get it and it may put it overweight so I would need to register it anyways.

It’s ok, i generally had a good experience with this drone. Flys well and has a pretty stable control system. Supervising range.

What you failed to mention was that you were using the updated remote that Ruko puts only in a select few drone kits. None of the F11GIM2 drone kits currently being sold on Amazon have the updated remote and the remote that they do have is the exact same as the F11GIM so the drone has only a 3000ft range. Ruko is a garbage company and purposely is ripping off anyone that buys a F11GIM2 on Amazon
