Just watched Grind (2003) for the first time in over a decade, and got to the scene when Blindside plays at one of the tournaments. I can't believe I forgot all about these guys. Cheers to 2024 boys
Literally what got me into this band and “The Used”. At the end of the movie they use Poetic Tragedy. God man what a great movie. I still think Vince Vieluf is so cool
I've had that movie on repeat all month! One of my favorites. Something so cool and classic about the early 2000s. That last demo/ vert scene scene at Santa Monica is out of this world. That kind of inspired us to start a skate club at Colorado State University and we've been throwing events like that, I'll try to post some on my channel.

I've owned two copies since 2005, hands down my favorite movie from when I was a teenager. This was the time when life was good, and so underappreciated. Seein' red by unwrittwn law from the movie also hits listening to it.

First time I heard this song was from Grind. That movie was awesome back then, but now it's pure nostalgia. That was my life 100% during this time period. Now I'm in my late 30's with 4 daughters. Two of them are teenagers. Man how time flies....
Anybody here not Christian? I never have been, and I don't like Christian music, but back in the day I liked P.O.D. and these guys. I still love these songs. The Christian themes are obvious, but the lyrics are still indirect and neutral enough to allow the listener to interpret them however they wish. Always loved that. The singer, Christian, has such a great, versatile voice.

Definitely NOT a Christian or anything resembling one, but I loved this band and still listen to other bands today that are religious and write similar themes into their music. I am open minded enough to appreciate anyone's art and passion if it isn't trying to preach it's little narrative at me. It's all about connecting as human beings and sharing the common experience of being human. Manchester Orchestra is one of my favorite bands of all time and they are not shy about their faith
I think the greatest thing about Jesus and his teachings. He taught in parables so that it could apply to many different situations, not to be confused with how religion often twists things to fit their lifestyle or narrative. POD is one of my favorites because I see them as truly striving to be christlike, hanging with sinners and just being a light in the darkness and full of love. I have found and lost God and found him again many times and its bands like these that keep me afloat on both sides.

Praise God, Christ did all the work! It’s a tragedy that often when we backslide we fear we can’t come back because we don’t deserve His grace. So we hide ourselves away from Him. But he never saved us because of who we WE are, He saved us because He loves us despite WHAT we are. We can never deserve someone’s sacrifice, we won’t earn our way back into favor. If you’re saved, this should break your heart and at the same time you can rejoice!

Just met Marcus on my vacation near Stockholm... I like metal but I wasn't familiar with Blindside. We talked about other stuff and had a good conversation. He was very down to earth, friendly guy... I had no idea I was chatting with a rock star! Cheers Marcus! These guys really rock!

I think the fact they are a Christain band played a huge part in them not recieving the attention and credit they should have by radio and TV...I did see them one night flipping channels, they were on a religious rock video countdown..I am not personally religious but that has never stopped me from enjoying art from all over..Love these guys.

I met these guys way back when they played a really small show at the Vineyard Church in Wickliffe, OH with then Luti-kriss who would turn into Norma Jean. What a sick show! It was Blindside's first American tour, Gosh it had to be back in 1999 or so...
I forgot about Luti-kriss. I was 11 at the time. I've seen Norma Jean live, never realized that was them.
I saw Luti-Kriss/Norma Jean back in 2001 at Cornerstone festival, Josh was their vocalist. (Found Blindside shortly after that.) I don't know if Blindside was there too, but if they were, I regret having missed them.

Best Christian band... that got my attention in 2020 after seeing them at Spirit West Coast with my teens. I'm 64 and have been around the world..mostly 3rd world countries doing missions work. Meditate on these lyrics n get blown away. Not for the Sunday School Christians. Jesus is looking for the lost.
