@RedlineMS501 You are right when you said it's very easy to be fast on this bike as it is well behaved, because i'm a beginner (never owned a bike before), my S1000RR feels totally easy to drive it slow or fast on the road and the electornics on it really works (ABS and the traction system). I think BMW did great job on this bike, I love it.
I dyno'd mine with 4500kms on the clock at track day....175.4hp at the wheel. In Sport Mode rev limited to 14000rpm. This was last week at eastern creek race track in sydney......happy with that, same slip akra is the only mod, the operator said it was 11hp up o the fastest he'd done. A race prep'd GSXR, love it.... :)
Compared to many bikes we have dynoed, this bike has good power and a nice power curve. It makes about 10 hp more than your average liter bike. We are actually going to dyno it again soon because we did the initial runs in 3rd gear and have heard since that 3rd gear may be retarded slightly - we'll run it in 4th gear just to check that out. We've heard it's very easy to be fast on this bike as it is well behaved.
@paul2iceman sounds a bit low from figures ive seen. fast bikes mag did a dyno run on their long term s1000 and had 186 hp at the wheels fresh out the crate. then put a full system and a power comander on it and got 196.

@cellmate454 BMW has nothing to worry about. The new zx10r is down by 10hp on our dyno. We have the video coming up shortly.

RNR cycles ran mine on theirs and got 169.94. I was quite pleased. These numbers are consistent with what they got.. My bike is bone stock.

i hear the new '11 ninja will be making around 190? will bmw have an answer for this?
