I've got an '04 also, and until now had no intentions of retiring the most fun bike kawi ever made. They don't call it the widow maker for nothing. Now I'm seriously considering the 2011. What a fun bike.
Best looking kawasaki ninja till date,notice after every iteration ,modern sports bikes are getting compact & smaller.At 1.56 zx-10r is is of same size as the zx-6r,SWEET
@ArchiteuthisDux The entire point of leaning your body is so you don't lean the bike. You want the bike upright for more traction. More traction means more speed in the turn. More leaning meaning less traction and therefore slower turns. Of course the faster you go the more you have to lean the bike as well, so you have to consider how sharp the turn is and how fast the rider is going.
We have decided to hold off on posting the dyno numbers for the time being. There was an anomaly in the power graph and we suspect that there are pre break-in power limiting electronics built into the ECM. Our test bike only had 400 km's on it. We don't want to post incorrect numbers so we will wait for another chance to dyno the ZX10r when we can get a bike that has at least 1,500 km's on it. Sorry Kawi Nuts. The full review video is still coming, but without the dyno numbers.
@Scorpiusza Hi, I was riding my friend's Husaberg FE 610 and it was big fun, wheelies from 0 etc, but on 4 lines fast ways in big city, my friend who has my ZX10 flew away with front wheel up, then I wanted my ZX back :D I love ZX10, it's so universal, I can enjoy wheelies, take it to circuit, to dragstrip, to long holiday trip, everything and I don't get enough riding it :)
@Bikeland I know the guys in this video personally from years of track time, and it is exactly what they say it is. INDEPENDENT VIDEO. Haters gonna hate.
good vid. would of liked to hear the engine/exhaust a little more...1st thing i would do with that beast is custom exhaust and power commander....love the new body work and the display
@RedlineMS501 I had to sub you guys simply getting your hands on one so quickly! I can't wait until they hit stores! Too bad we here in the US are getting watered down versions of this bike while the Euro's get to enjoy it's full potential. But good vid, I can't wait to see the US spec numbers from you guys. Go team Green!
@srsc23 the difference is huge. The 07 feels so much bigger and heavier than the 2011. Compared to your bike the 2011 feels like a 600 on steroids. It's a completely different bike. Suspensoin is much better, both front and rear. The 07 rear is quite soft and while the 2011 feels stiffer, the bike still feels very planted. The dash is simply amazing compared to the 07 - way more data and a gear indicator, finally.
Bike looks really small, and still looks a bit twitchy, but then again it wouldn't be a ninja if it wasn't. Still prefer the blade myself. Hopefully Kawasaki will be able to be in the hunt come WSB this year and make things interesting
Now this is the work of talented guys..but Redline though u r right about hw Kawasaki's promo video sucked but I think they made one of the best videos where SYKES is testing the bike...I understand thts nt promo video...but I like Kawasaki's work as well as urs..keep rolling :-)
We'll post up as soon as we have the true results. We have no preference for brand and think the S1000rr is a fantastic bike but surely you wouldn't want to compare your bikes power with something that someone pretty much made up. Sort of like winning when the score keeper cheats for you.
Helmut, a gsxr1000 K7 and a K9 have diferent bore and stroke, the K9 has bigger bore and SAME real red line, BUT the K9 has a bit more mid, and same top. So in the big picture bore and stroke tell us one part but TB size, combustion chamber, cams tell us the rest of the story.
@RedlineMS501 Yea I remember US has to follow EPA and Noise dB regulations...I heard the Euro models get their full potential. Can't wait to see what the "unleashed" power version shows! I already have a deposit on mine, but dam, how did you get yours so quick!
The comment about using 165bhp on the road will result in it flipping?? Are you on this planet?? Nice bike just hope it lives upto the hype as its about time Kawasaki had some success!
@sith49 In my opinion you wont even get to enjoy the peak output of 120bhp a 600 gives... its not about peak power, its about TORQUE!!!!! its about twisting the throttle and lofting the front wheel and having a big fat grin on your face...the higher the power then the more torque its going to have....low down torque is what you use on the street!
Sadly the new zx is not the bike of the year. The new rsv4 is the bike of year for 2011. The max power on it was 162. Reason why it won was because of the electronics on it. The way it felt on track was great also. The aprilia scored a 10 on it. That 160hp weak though. To me it is anyway cause my zzr puts more power than it.
I see people on here saying this new ninja can't touch the s1000rr. Well I got news for you people. The new ninja beat it. On the track, both bikes scored a 9. On a fast road, the zx got a 9, s1rr got a 8. On desirability, the zx got a 9 while the s1rr got a 8. Zx beat it in a lot of things.
Again the numbers that were posted on the net were not correct. Kawasaki has nothing to do with the reason we are not posting them. Kawasaki has no stroke with us- we just have friends with connections. The numbers are incorrect and we will post the hp numbers once we can verify that they are correct. We do not post BS numbers like many people with dyno's do.
Agree with you there. The rider in blue/black needs to learn some things about bodyposition. Has nothing to do with cold asphalt etc etc..BAD ridingposition.
@xninjazx6r Unsure where you are getting your stats from, but the ZX10R has 188hp at the rear wheel, RAM Air edition. Not sure you can get a 2011 without RAM Air.....so
I realy dont understand.... wy the wait for the numbers.... it would be nice to see the curve... From using the same bore and stroke as the 08 I asume that it has like +8hp from the 08 but does not get where the bmw is with its short stroke engine.
scorpiusza: no, you can use all 200hp over 100mph with no risk of flipping back :-) of course it is better to not do throttle off/on wheelie, but if you go smooth then you can use full throttle and top-end RPMs, over 150 it is even safer :-)
@helmut48de Hey thanks for the reply. I have an 05 ZX10R and love it. I dont think I'll ever see 120bhp, and I promise you I ride it but not like a dyno, where its strapped down... I agree, small village = lower speeds.... and YES Supermotard!!!!! Hypermotard or KTM950SM???
Do you think the bike can hit a top speed higher than the BMW? The BMW has got a lot of hype over the BHP and top speed, but it's expensive and German. Go Jap! Cheaper to buy and run!
What's about that recall of the zx10r by Kawasaki??? They talk about engine problems??? Not the best start for this new bike!! Does anybody know something about the problems??
@steveteas LOL... what I meant was my bike allegedly puts out 165bhp....only really proven on a dyno....and never will you be able to see that on the street as it will just flip I would say... being tied down on a dyno helps...
@Scorpiusza i don't like low rev torque i instead enjoy acceleration and wheelies when other vehicles loose their breath, for low rev torque I have a car (or better I would have diesel one) :-) I have 04 ZX10 and definitely can imagine better acceleration in above 150kph, of course in a small village it has no sense, there is supermoto the best
@maogwam I hope you have your tinfoil hat on because kawi is reading your thoughts. The rear indicators for North America are on posts, on the Euro model, they are built into the bodywork. How do I know that, I work for Kawi of course - lol. No really, I don't work for Kawi - lol
@fletchrx7 hi i have 04 too, and it is just the best bike, so big fun factor, i didnt find 06 or 08 that better to buy them, but havent tried bmw, anyway 04 zx10 much more fun than R1 05 I had too, or K5/6 Gixxer, those are so smooth and less unstable/fun factor
Guy sure had to pull on the bars to get that bike to come up (green), My S1000R would of just floated up had I tried that on my bike. It just comes up, any gear above 11K rpm, even in 5th at 150+, it just comes up! I love the all excuses, not ready, US models down on power, maybe theirs a break in limiter, blah, blah, blah. S1000RR is King. No excuses. But if you like vanilla ice cream get the Kawi, I prefer cheeries jubilee, no hate, just put up the numbers or go home.
In fact Kawasaki is rather pissed at us. I think they should fire their marketing department and hire us. The video they made sucked, way to fruity and serious. Come on Kawasaki, "let the good times roll" like we do at Redline Motorsports!
@steveteas My bike allegedly puts out 165bhp....only really proven on a dyno....and never will you be able to see that on the street as it will just flip I would say... being tied down on a dyno helps...
@D61664 ''My stats''? Come on i have nothing to do with the testresults!! There are dyno tests here they say the s1000rr has 180hp on the rear wheel, other tests told us something about 175 or 185!!! So i don't trust any test! I had a zx10r 08 before i got the s1000rr and i know that Kawabikes aren't so strong as Kawa is promising!! BMW (that's fact!!) destroy every s1000rr engine who has not the minimum of 193hp engine power on their own test!! That is german quality that i miss on japanese!
@ArchiteuthisDux Then you can tell us what would u do instead...Stay upright on the bike and stiffer than a bolt and lean the bike untill the pegs touch the ground right :)))WTF is wrong whit your ass man.That's the whole purpose of hanging off the bike...!! keeping the contact patch at it's max by reducing leaning angle..Therefo' a higher cornering speed and reduced lowside risks :)
HAHAHAHA!!!! Where's the quick shifter????? The s1000rr gear's 1,5 seconds!!!!! faster up to 200 km/h than the Ninja!!!!! So it doesn't matter what bike is the strongest!!!
good vid. would of liked to hear the engine/exhaust a little more...1st thing i would do with that beast is custom exhaust and power commander....love the new body work and the display

Nice video man! Those new 10r's look SO much better than the previous style!!
Best looking kawasaki ninja till date,notice after every iteration ,modern sports bikes are getting compact & smaller.At 1.56 zx-10r is is of same size as the zx-6r,SWEET

Freakin Bad Ass bike. Would love to place the 2012 next to my 06!

Nice Ride, Nice Video . . .
@Scorpiusza Hi, I was riding my friend's Husaberg FE 610 and it was big fun, wheelies from 0 etc, but on 4 lines fast ways in big city, my friend who has my ZX10 flew away with front wheel up, then I wanted my ZX back :D I love ZX10, it's so universal, I can enjoy wheelies, take it to circuit, to dragstrip, to long holiday trip, everything and I don't get enough riding it :)
hoping to get this lovely bike next month! :)

@Bikeland you just made my day! I take it, that you like the video.
Bike looks really small, and still looks a bit twitchy, but then again it wouldn't be a ninja if it wasn't.
Still prefer the blade myself.

Did you guys return yours for the "Technical Hold"?
@dcgamma yep, that is absolutely correct. Good test of the suspension though.
We'll post up as soon as we have the true results. We have no preference for brand and think the S1000rr is a fantastic bike but surely you wouldn't want to compare your bikes power with something that someone pretty much made up. Sort of like winning when the score keeper cheats for you.
Can you post the videos of the dyno tests please ? :)

truely amazing!!! awesome bike n gr8 video guys....btw wats the name of the song?
@RedlineMS501 same here :-) it sounds good you say that while you have 2011 already to test :-)
nice one m8
@ArchiteuthisDux with less of a lean, more tire stays in contact with ground, which means higher corner exit speed.
@RedlineMS501 100% agree i would've if it was my call. now we wanna see the full review.
@buddybestor I can't wait either but we may have to actually buy one, Kawi is a little pissed at us for scooping their party.
The comment about using 165bhp on the road will result in it flipping?? Are you on this planet??
Nice bike just hope it lives upto the hype as its about time Kawasaki had some success!
NICE!
NICE !!!
I'm between this and the S1KR, just depends on the ride position and the guys in the shop honestly.
@ArchiteuthisDux street tires and cold asphalt. Better to be safe than smash Kawi's bike they didn't know we had.
The LED tach looks like '80s KITT.
Was the breaking with or without ABS?
@BUZZ50RIDER I agree, that number is going to be a little high
@sith49
In my opinion you wont even get to enjoy the peak output of 120bhp a 600 gives... its not about peak power, its about TORQUE!!!!! its about twisting the throttle and lofting the front wheel and having a big fat grin on your face...the higher the power then the more torque its going to have....low down torque is what you use on the street!
:) good one, arm chair racer lol
Moto-HQ name of the song please
for 15k it will grow roots in dealerships 160hp is more than enough but at 15k its inline with the BMW s1000rr
Sadly the new zx is not the bike of the year. The new rsv4 is the bike of year for 2011. The max power on it was 162. Reason why it won was because of the electronics on it. @BUZZ50RIDER Yea, thats the "restricted" vs though!
i like kawasaki brand bike..bcoz when drag kawasaki have momentum into straight...race
The speedometer is from the Honda s2000!!! OR?
@motoseteo if both bikes do 14k rpm and bmw is shorter stroke I'd say ZX will have more torque so more HP, but we will see
Bikeland, I hope you have your tinfoil hat on bud. You know Kawasaki knows what your doing.
I suspect Mr P now has the horn !!
@xninjazx6r Unsure where you are getting your stats from, but the ZX10R has 188hp at the rear wheel, RAM Air edition.

@RedlineMS501 nooooooooo pleaseeee be quick and run 1500km to do dyno test, thank youuuuuuuu :-D
Bike is nasty! Im on an 04 im dying to get on an 11 or 12!
so what were the HP numbers?
@teddydude1 lol....nice!
@Henberry7 not at all..if at all its like the 08 R6
@steveteas
LOL... what I meant was my bike allegedly puts out 165bhp....only really proven on a dyno....and never will you be able to see that on the street as it will just flip I would say... being tied down on a dyno helps...

@buddybestor
its 197hp
for the U.S. it will be round 5hp less
please what about the new video???? :D
Give me that bike for a night, let me open it up and see how it runs against 1Arms S1000RR. ;)
@maogwam I hope you have your tinfoil hat on because kawi is reading your thoughts.

it won't beat the new beemer!
@RedlineMS501
HAH HAHA they did n't know you guys had the bike that just makes it better. Whats up with the second half of the video
Dear santa....
@johnnylongsock You got it!!
Guy sure had to pull on the bars to get that bike to come up (green), My S1000R would of just floated up had I tried that on my bike. It just comes up, any gear above 11K rpm, even in 5th at 150+, it just comes up!

I'll be sure to tell him that, lol
God I want one..........Motherfuckers stole my fireblade, now I'm stuck on a honda hornet :(
This new zx-10 is putting out some crazy hp
In fact Kawasaki is rather pissed at us. I think they should fire their marketing department and hire us. The video they made sucked, way to fruity and serious. Come on Kawasaki, "let the good times roll" like we do at Redline Motorsports!
Soon? Why? (coz the S1kRR outmatched the ZX10R ;)
Nice enough bike but it's not taking out the BMW.
WTF thought it was going to have integrated turn signals
@ArchiteuthisDux That's the great thing about the Internet and UA-cam. You can go jump on your EX500 and post a video yourself.
it looks like a naked bike.
The results are posted, check out our latest video
the bmw s1000rr still has more HP than the new ninja!!!!!!
@xninjazx6r BMW HAS A 172HP and ninja has a 179HP... BMW HAS a SHIFTER...
@steveteas
My bike allegedly puts out 165bhp....only really proven on a dyno....and never will you be able to see that on the street as it will just flip I would say... being tied down on a dyno helps...
@gastongato
Yamaha info site dyno results!!!!
zx10r 2011 - 170hp on the rear wheel!!!!
s1000rr - 176hp on the rear wheel!!!!
Same test!
1:28 fucking beautiful lol
@D61664

i won against the rr s1000......only in the lower agitator Speed im slower but in the upper agitator Speed the bmw is definite slower
the dyno is mathematical and not real, the motor until the wheel!!
HAHAHAHA!!!! Where's the quick shifter????? The s1000rr gear's 1,5 seconds!!!!! faster up to 200 km/h than the Ninja!!!!! So it doesn't matter what bike is the strongest!!!
They are posted. watch?v=Peft3Y7TzRQ
@disliker91 BMW is oil-eater... it's Hungry .. he want oil.. BMW has a shifter.... without shifter is SHIT
5 people dont know how to ride a bike...
good vid. would of liked to hear the engine/exhaust a little more...1st thing i would do with that beast is custom exhaust and power commander....love the new body work and the display
