This is a larger version of the EkoBox (ua-cam.com/video/mvx9sxO_FZQ/v-deo.html) and is designed as a dedicated crafting base with a way to modularly add on a horde base! Let me know if you would use this or what you would do differently! For those wondering about the blocks around the door where the cement mixers sit, I put plates oriented on the sides with plate corners above them overlapping with the door frame.
Awesome! It's great to see the evolution of this base. I pretty much started doing this more or less since I like having the all in 1 base too and there just wasn't enough storage mid-game. I'd go up a level for farming; assuming zeds still go after crops. I didn't realize the dew collectors were safe until I saw yours on the ground. Oh, and I'm sure you figured it out, but just in case, there is a plate version of the circle for the horde base. I been using that doubled up. Also the sideways ladder instead of the balustrade; it is just easier to shoot through. I do get the occassional push-through, but this is with the original eko-box overhang. Finally, the empty window frames, are they empty for you, because they aren't for me. I had to watch a few times cause I was like WTAF am I doing wrong, but I am guessing you aren't going past building block stage with them. The smaller pillar blocks are fairly non-obtrusive and will work.
Hey, was playing around with the corners for the "light post" because I really don't like the way the flat piece mates up to the stairs block. While it still isn't perfect, I think "Cube 1/2 Pillar 0.5M" looks a lot better. Also the back next to the ladder, was it an oversight to not go all the way down with the wedge 60 like the front of the base? Once again, it just blends better. I am on my 2nd time building the new one now, so these little details are fresh in my mind.
Awesome! I've been following the build and evolution of this project. I always have my horde base attached or incorporated in to my builds. But this is a work of art. I also love how small it is, which means I won't spend days grinding away materials for the build. Looking forward to the next part!
That was the idea! This is being used in my series where block damage increases by 5% per day and I have to build and survive horde nights in all 4 biomes ... so speed is essential!
Just watched your guest appearance on Guns, Nerds & Steel and I followed you back "here". I am very impressed! Your channel is amazing. And your base-building (and instructions) is unparalleled. Happy to be here 🙂

@@WaywardEko I actually tried this last night haha I spent a good 4 hours trying to find a way to incorporate your other version of this base that has the ramp for motorcycle, it was a pain trying to figure a gate that would work for the truck, I expanded quite a few blocks but I messed up and just went with a double door for the motorcycle with a few blocks in the back of the base as landing with a bridge attachment to connect to the ramp. I have to say I’m very happy with the design and just feels way better to have space to plant a bigger garden on the roof. So thank you!
Awesome design, sir. I love seeing someone build something besides just a square box, and I highly appreciate your detailed tutorials. I am looking forward to building this and the horde base design in my next world.

Thanks so much! Block by block tutorials are super time-consuming so I understand why lot of folks don't do them! I do a combination of base vids as well as the in depth tutorials! Glad this helped!
I always enjoy your instructional videos! It seems so easy versus the live stream when you're trying to get everything just right. Thanks Dr. Eko! This is a really cool design!
haha I spend a lot of time trying to think of how I would build the base if I did it from scratch. I sketch out the outline and build it in the most logical way I would want if I were playing. So for this base ... I build the pillars and platform first, because I could place down my crafting stuff and start using it before building the ramp.
For years and years I've always built my crafting base at bedrock and my horde base above. This behavior goes back to the days when placing things like your forge at bedrock would reduce or eliminate screamer spawns. That hasn't worked for a long time but it was still a habit that I followed. I had to stop doing that in Alpha 21 because there seems to be an increased likelihood of zombies glitching through blocks, especially if you incorporate any sort of drop or fall in your face for managing the zombie hordes. It doesn't happen often, but it does happen and means that building underground like that is dangerous and I've had zombies get glitched under the ground and even glitched into my central tower through multiple layers of blocks into the area in the center where my ladder is leading to bedrock. So now I build my crafting stations within my fighting position but I'm liking what I've seen in a couple of your videos where it's simply an additional structure attached via a walkway that I want to try out for myself. I never waste time making entrances into my base for vehicles because like the vast majority of people I plan custom servers and vehicles have always been glitchy in terms of falling through the world. So whatever vehicle I'm writing gets picked up and put back into buying inventory.
I'm a huge fan of having the fighting position connected to your crafting base ... that means screamers are easy to deal with as your base is already designed to cope with it. The whole reason I like a drive in for vehicles is so I can do easy and quick loot drops without having to run back and forth to my vehicle. It's a quality of life thing for me.
I did on my playthrough an Ekobox but upgraded it to 10x10 on the interior (so I could fit more stuff) and made 4 ( +1 little on the middle for the claim block and the mod autorepairblock)... I have 4 ekoboxes connected by bridges, 1 ekobox for the garage, 1 for crafting, 1 for the kitchen, and the last one to have a bedroom with my expensive stuff. On the roof I have 2 ekoboxes with 100 parcels in total (full of supercorn), and the other 2 are rain collectors. I still have to do the horde base on the side of the 4 ekoboxes, but I'm getting there, I wish I could show you my base haha
Great Base! Made it yesterday in my new Game 😊 Quick Tip for aesthetics: There are inside Corners for those narrow wedges on top of the Ramp at the Doors so you can get rid of that Edge. Greetings from Germany 👋🏼
I would very much like to know which voodoo magic you conjured up to make that frame around your double door. I can’t for the life of me figure that out and still be able to place a box or workbench on either side let alone the mixers. Love your base designs and can’t wait for the horde base addition to this!
@@WaywardEko I tried this as well, but can't make it work. Shows red as the door is in the way obstructing it. You're not using any mods or special permissions of some sorts to allow it?
@WaywardEko Towards the end of your video you frame out a door to form a shelf to support your cement mixers. Curious how this was achieved? I see it's placed upside down but i can't seem to get a plate to place on the frame voxel. The plate instead can only be placed as a lower in the voxel above, thereby taking the space where the mixer would ideally go. I assume I'm using the wrong shape but am at a loss. Love the content and thank you for continued inspiration
Lots of folks wondering this ... added it to pinning comment up top: "For those wondering about the blocks around the door where the cement mixers sit, I put plates oriented on the sides with plate corners above them overlapping with the door frame." Hope that helps! Thanks for the comment!
Can you explain which blocks you used above the door to give you a platform for the cement mixers? Doesn't matter what plate or cube I try. It always wants to either put the "platform" one cube higher, leaving no room for the cement mixer, or if I flip it so that the plate is on the bottom of its orientation, then I can't put the cement mixer on top because of the block's unbuildable void. I followed your video step by step, but this is where I lose the thread every time.
Actively working on it now ... was hoping for tomorrow, but ran into snags on late game horde testing. The version I have is great up through the midgame, but it falls apart on my true test which is 720 GS Insane Nightmare.
Valid risk -- the new version separates everything. Once cops start showing up things can get sketchy ... you could also consider converting it to a double decker and move crafting upstairs.

I'm trying to figure out what bricks were used around the door for the cement mixers? I can't seem to put anything on the door, then if I use the plate above the door the cement mixer wont sit on it
I'm going to add this to the desc. as it is a commonly asked question --- I used plates for the sides and plate corners for the top. The trick is that the corner is actually overlapping with the door frame. That's why you can find the cement mixer on top.
Building this in wood for an early home and I can't seem to get the door bridge to stay in place. Once i put the first layer of cube 0.25 on the wedge narrows after placing the doors down, the bridge structure collapses. Placement looks identical to the vid, am i missing something? I can't imagine the materials would have much to do with it, isn't concrete heavier? Help!
Ok -- 2 bits to this ... 1 - Did you place the sidewalls first as those support the doors 2 - Concrete is heavier but has more horizontal stability. You might need to upgrade at least to cobble as it also has better horizontal stability.
@WaywardEko Found a solution, skipping forward a few steps to placing the "roof" blocks provided overhead support, which kept the structure from collapsing, allowing me to place the doors. Definitely would recommend using cobblestone at least for that span as wood doesn't have enough horizontal stability.
