      Just so you know From what i've seen in a Multiplayer playthrough is that A Normal Screamer has a chance to spawn a Feral or Rad screamer, This means That Each screamer CAN Possibly Spawn Either or but can only scream x3 TImes This means that If you're building a screamer farm base you will need to remember they only scream 3x for z's to spawn If a screamer is left alive after the 3rd scream they will not spawn Anymore Zombies Until another screamer Spawns and screams 3x again This means That if a screamer see's you They scream 3x And the type of screamer Dpeends on person in party with Highest GS. Also Gunfire from Guns like The M60 Auto shotgun Desert vulture SMG can also Trigger Screamer spawns Even if they're silenced, Explosives also Trigger screamer spawns as well

      i got a question here. If zombie block damage is set to 300% and blood moon damage is set to 300% does that stack? So is it 3x damage all around regardless of bloodmoon or not or 6x damage because 300% + 300% or 9x damage because 300% bloodmoon multiplied by the standard 300%? I also posted this on Jawoodle to see if anyone knows.

      @@ZZ-qn1bo Yes it does, I wouldn't recommend anything Above 150 Your base will be in absolute shambles if you go anything Above 200 on both. 300 is overkill But From what i read in the XML's This is how Gamestage works
      / Starting spawn stage is in this first entry.
      // It will spawn up to 300 zombies, but only 8 can be alive at any one time due to performance reasons.
      // Zombies will be spawned from the ZombiesNight spawn group defined in entitygroups.xml
      // (Optional) The duration of this stage is 1 game hour, after that game hour the next spawn will start OR the spawning will complete
      // if there are no more spawns.
      // (Optional) Interval is a delay in seconds between the end of a spawn group and the next one
      // If we have a use for it this could also trigger a stinger sound.
      // After 300 zombies have been killed this defines a kind of "station keeping" mode
      // where there will be one zombie sent to harass the players until sunrise.
      maxAlive is now per player, not per party

    Even me who has played the game over 350h+ I am still amazed how the AI works and how you can build stuff to prevent zombies getting to you etc. I myself mostly play casually and find a church with a wall. Reinforce it, make it double the thickness. Take away all the doors and leave one entrance point for melee killing and shooting with shotgun. IF else fails, I bail to my tower that is just a basic tower that has 3 rows of ladders allowing them to come up and fall down because of *Railing Diagonal* shape. So far so good for day 35 without dying for 35h of gameplay haha.

    Psuedo, I don't know if this is true in Vers 1, but in the Alpha, screamers did have a limit on the number screams they could use to call in other zombies. I think it was 3 screams PER Screamer. They can call in other screamers who also will have 3 screams to call in Zombies. This MAY have changed. I don't know.

    • @tihokhan1937
      @tihokhan1937 20 днів тому +1

    • @b5freak445
      @b5freak445 20 днів тому +1

      I don't know about the 3 screams per screamer thing, but I can confirm that there is a chance a screamer will call in another screamer, as I got gang raped in my latest solo playthrough because a screamer called in another screamer, who called in another screamer. I did manage to kill several zombies before succumbing, though. Oh, that was day 8, on normal settings, btw.

    Have you done any underwater bases for 1.0 yet? I've tried some and here is what I have so far...
    1. I can not break the water plane when building in the coastal/edge of map water. So you can't have a base with connecting rooms above and below the waterline. But the water is deep so you can have a multi-level base underwater.
    2. POI waters like the new bridges over the lakes you can build below and above. A bit shallow so not much for underwater.
    3. Moonpools work. A hole in the floor to enter the base.
    4. Bulletproof Glass (Plates) give you an air pocket and place to stand when removing the water. (Stand in the window while filling the room with building blocks)
    5. When working on the coastal base, I needed to have a ceiling two blocks thick to remove the water. Once the water is removed only one layer is required. So place building blocks on top of the roof then remove them once completed. (Strange one, this one)
    6. Zombies will use stairs/ramps to enter the base, but if they fall or get knocked off they will rage swim instead of returning to the path.
    Number 6 is where I'm stuck. Coming up with a way to fight the horde.

    • @pseudoposse
      @pseudoposse  19 днів тому

      I haven't done a water base yet in 1.0 but in my testing I did for our 80+ beginner tips video, it seems like it is much the same as alpha 21. As for your issue, zombies will path under water if you give them one. If you give them an underwater path, they will swim along that path rather than swimming through the water so they'll actually travel further then necessary. Point being, you can make a path underwater leading back to your path above water and they'll go back up. Even a simple ladder from lakebed up toward your main path will suffice.

Are there any blocks that you're aware of that zombies will only path over in one direction? Maybe a door or special shape? That could be very useful in a (extra cheesy) base.

    • @pseudoposse
      @pseudoposse  20 днів тому +2

      Haha some things are just universal 🤣. I guess it depends what you mean by pathing over in a single direction. I suppose a zombie dropping shape could fit that definition as they fall before they could move another way.

    I am going to build this, tonight. I suck at building, usually con friends into building, while I in turn become the base monkey, cooking food, manning the forge and do the sorting. I want to learn to build but navigating the menu's is daunting. I usually just give up finding the proper item. After about 2 hours my eyes start to bother me ( stigma on both eyes ) So everything gets fuzzy. I just want to build a base that work and zombies won't destroy it. It took me forever to find the diagonal bars. Anyway I want to give this a try and see how it works.
    Edit It didn't work. They pooled around the base, never one used the stairs. My first attempt failed So I am going to shorted the whole thing or should I raise it So they have no choice but to come find me. I don't know I have succeeded in confusing myself I'm just going to waTch this again again til I get it right.

    Love the tutorial and all the 7 days content you've been making! Actually building this right now, but I wanted to leave a comment that's somewhat of a critique.. When doing your step-by-step tutorial part of the video, I would personally like to see the whole "but I changed this after some testing" parts (9:40 for example). You originally advised we used the slope plate corner filled, and as someone who pauses and does each step, seeing you change the block 10 seconds later meant I had to break all of those to replace with the window plate circle empty. I feel like it would be smoother if you had just originally told us to use the block you intended to use rather than show us what you initially used then what you changed it to..
    I get this could just be a personal preference and it is your videos after all, but I'm sure some others would agree.

    It would be nice to get a video explaining stability. E.g. I rarely see people building a steel block connected to bedrock and then building horizontally with a lighter block. Are there any difference if you mix horizontally and vertically blocks not connected to bedrock?
    How are blocks calculated that are bigger than 1m x 1m?

    • @pseudoposse
      @pseudoposse  16 днів тому

      Mixing vertical blocks doesn't make a difference. But when mixing horizontally, that doesn't really help. In the extreme case, say you connected a wood block to a steel. By itself steel can support a bunch of mass. But the wood cannot. So even though the wood is connected to steel, if you then add more blocks totaling the horizontal mass that wood can support, it will collapse despite steel being the "anchor" point. Though steel could have supported more, wood couldn't.

    At the top of the screamer fence 10:16 You have the double railing on top of the pillars. Yet when I do it, I can’t get the doors to lay flat against them. I’d have to have the double pillar “block area” facing AWAY from the cage. But doing so doesn’t align the doubles with the existing railing at the top.

    Hi Pseudo. I like your 7D2D vids very much 😊 and i learned a lot of them. I tried the thing with the non pathable parts at my base but it didnt work. I dug a Trench around my base and a wall around the trench from the outside and wanted to force the zombies with your tipp to enter the Trench at a certain Position through a gab in the wall. But they still cross it at the Position where the stairs led out of the trench. I hope u understand my Problem and can help me with it. Greetings

      Sorry, not quit following the design. So you have a trench around your base, and outside of the trench is a wall? And in the wall you have a gap but not sure where the stairs are positioned or the forcefield shapes.

    • @HeikeKocher
      @HeikeKocher 9 днів тому +1

      @@pseudoposse 😅 i knew that with my bad english i couldn't give u a good picture. I should better draw it :) but i will try to explain. So the trench around my base is about 4 Blocks deep and 8 blocks wide. But it isn't fully "open", at one corner it is blocked with a wall. My plan was that they go into the trench at the one side of the wall and have to go through the whole trench to get to the other side of that mentioned wall. At that spot are the stairs that leed out of the trench again and up to my base. Of cource the trench is filled with fenches, shotgunturrets and bladetraps ;-) so to force them this way my idea was a wall around the trench from the outside, on "ground level" so to say. But they keep on trying to break the "outside" wall at the spot where behind the stairs are in the trench and not take the open, unblocked path a bit more left of it to take the way around through the trench. So my question in the first place, is it possible to make them take the open Part through the trench and not "smash" the direct way through the wall? Or is my wohle idea impossible? I tried your idea with the Windows plate and 2 blocks space under it but they just dropped in them and smashed through the wall as mentioned. I hope u got the picture otherwise we could talk again or i would love to invite u to my Server so that u could look at it :) but many thanks for taking the time to help me. Greetings

    • @pseudoposse
      @pseudoposse  7 днів тому +1

      @@HeikeKocher That makes much more sense, thank you! It sounds like you are trying to route the zombies through a large trench that ultimately leads to a set of stairs on the opposite side of the trench which then would lead to your base.
      The problem is if the path is too long, and the wall blocking the stairs is too weak, zombies will prefer to take a shortcut and just beat through the wall to reach the stairs. Zombies generally follow the path of least resistance. To force them along your route, you'll need to make the wall extra thick and/or you could put force field shapes around the outer wall region to prevent them from breaking through. Covering the top of the trench with forcefield shapes might also work though with the stairs below it, not sure if zombies won't still see it as a shortcut.

    • @pseudoposse
      @pseudoposse  7 днів тому +1

      @@HeikeKocher During horde with greater numbers, they will definitely beat threw walls that a single zombie alone wouldn't try. Same principle applies, you want to beef up your defenses and use forcefield shapes to prevent them from reaching. You could dig a small pit (like 3 blocks deep, 2-3 wide from the wall) in front of the stair region and line it with fore fields.
      As far as the thickness, that depends on the material. Are you using cobblestone, concrete or steel? And it also depends on the gamestage. I would say 3 layers of concrete would be more than enough for most cases though that is wildly dependent on your design.

    something I"m confused about is, the screamer's scream mechanics; I swear in older versions the screamer was limited to I think...3 screams that were of any effect? and so to get additional zombies, new screamers would come in, but identifying which were the old ones to cull them after they'd run out of screams became a mechanic....has that been removed, and they can endlessly screm?

    • @pseudoposse

    • @pseudoposse
      @pseudoposse  19 днів тому +1

      You could absolutely use this for a horde base. Though depending on the gamestage, you might want to make the loot bag collection platform wider, and multiple ladders back up for the zombie loop. And if you find you can't kill zombies fast enough before they start to pile too high, you might also consider making the bag collection platform lower so they fall further.

    There seems to be something weird with force field blocks since the last patch, its not the first time i see/read somebody having issues with them. Im using a double row of those oval-rectagle-shaped window empty, with a two block gap under them, and zombies went right over the blocks.
    Unrelated question, but when zombies trace a path to the player, does it counts block distance plus height? how do i calculate the max distance? i have a 10 block high kill corridor with stairs around 30-35 blocks from the shooting position, and every time zombies prefer to attack a five block thick concrete wall than take the path.

    • @pseudoposse
      @pseudoposse  19 днів тому

      I know the closer in height to the player they are, the more likely they will path to you. It is certainly a factor though I am not sure if the distance they see is represented as just x-blocks away from the player or if it is represented as a float and it actually calculates a distance factoring in height/distance/angle to player.
