- Welcome to Star Citizen, I’m Specter, and this is the concept ship analysis of the RSI Perseus. I understand that my previous concept ship analysis videos were very long so I tried to shorten the video this time. Hope you enjoy it, thank you very much.
Due to many things happening and Chinese New Year, I didn't have enough time to make videos about Star Citizen. But now things should be getting better.

The Hammerhead does not have 3 size 3 shield generators. It has 2. The Persus also has far thicker armor than the hammerhead.
Remember the Perseus is heavy armored.
Light fighters can shoot this all day and it will be fine with the armor on this baby. Forget what light fighters are like now, in the future they will be useless against large ships and will only be affective against other fighters. There are many changes yet to come into the game and it will look a lot different when it come to combat in the future.
A perseus in tandem with a mantis will be beautiful
Perseus is that one ship that I really really want for it's looks but can't justify buying for my hangar. It will be a good goal to grind for with credits.
If CIG didn't nerf the size 7 guns, it can be a good ship to fly.
First the size 7s in the game are not Cannons. One is a Gatlin gun the other is a repeater. Additionally the guns currently are dealing with an HP based system which is not where this game will be in a year. Meaning light fighters versus heavily armored large ships will disappear.
This ship size is a perfect military ship for a friend group. I can't imagine I will ever be able to crew a idris or something like that with the large crew requirement but having 3-6 friends to crew this seems very doable!
I think CIG needs to stick with ships like this that 4-6 people can easily crew, as realistically, thats probably the best amount of people that is feasible to gather together to crew. I just dont see how you get 80 people to man a Javelin...Even a Polaris at 24 is a heft "World of Warcraft" sized raid of people...just for ONE ship.
Multi crew ships are great! But keep them to a handful of people. Definitely no more than 6 if you want to see good density.
@@Kyu7 I think that the really big ships do have their place for orgs in the very far future when large orgs will be fighting over territory and resources. However, as you said it would be far smarter if the "smaller" large ships should vastly outnumber those as they are the ones that will actually be used by friend groups.

Well, I will suggest you to buy it after you can fly it in the game, as this ship is still in development, which many things may change time to time. Also, USD675 is not really a small amount of money. But you can purchase whatever you like if you really like it ^ ^

This can be a great End game goal where you’ll have all your memories and experiences of how you got in the captain’s chair to help you when there. You could chain game or grey risk for 500-450 but still way to much for most people even cuu chaining a 120$ lti prospector for max money out of game for max earning in game might be too much money or too boring start . 70 avenger starter no insurance worries no worries . Roughly 300 min/5 hours for a million (basically starter ship minimal skills ) these numbers will change but maybe gives ballpark or ratio to think of how long to go from starter to first industry ship by looking at in game ship prices.
All big ships especially military ships need to have a medical bay on board Polaris has one but I think Perseus should have one even it’s a hole in the wall just needs to have one
But it seems CIG decided not to include it on the Perseus according the Q&A and it seems need to dependent on other ships for medical needs.
I get what you are saying about light fighters being more nimble but How will they Pen my armor?
In theory armor will only be in armored spots, so those three arrows focusing on a gap where the reactor feeds let’s say the starboard thrusters , with a little time and planning will chip through taking pieces out making it easier to take out another part . This Means a Perseus even having a little fighter escort (in this case one hammerhead with two people swooping in and out) will be protected with the armor making it slow and complicated for aggro fighters to take out. (Blind side size ten torp, I feel might the biggest small danger of lone Perseus which for its size has mediocre scanning.) Unfortunately this vid forgotten the whole armor feature , a core defying ship trait, the whole reason it has two size three shields instead of hh three is in theory again the armor will more than cover that gap in an asymmetrical way.
@@BlakedaBull you do understand that the ship is the OLDEST ship in the game? It comes from a time in which there was NO shielding. It is ALL armor & now it has shields. I will out radar whatever fighters are coming my way as I am a large ship to your light fighters. I will turn into the fighters & here comes Torp. & long range S7 gunfire. CIG has been very clear on armor, It will nullify weapons fire that cant pen. it AS IF IT NEVER HAPPENED.
@@jgrizz7943 interesting question, what ships can dodge a size 5 torpedo easily? we could actual test that in game. (my real curiosity is if you could hit a vanguard class ship or not, my guess is maybe at scm speeds, probably not at upper speeds but i never tested myself, and npc ships are smart as sheep.)
@@BlakedaBull I think more likely you will see Ion's & Inferno's & maybe a couple Eclipse's will be the small craft that can take it on & then you should plan on loosing some. I think the more likely things that will be killing Perseus will be of the Cap. class ships & STEALTHY Torp Bombers.

Bad review.
The perseus comes with heavy armour.
It has 2x large shields, and the s5 torpedo is for medium to large, and could be used against subcapitals.
The twin s3 guns should be able to handle a small group of fighters being default of s3 ballistic Gatlings.
The Perseus sits between the Hammerhead and the Polaris.
Polaris is larger and only has an single capital shield, all other components are identical.
Crew wise the Perseus only requires minimum of 3 crew, but ideally 6 crew, which is less than both the Hammerhead and Polaris.
Need to read the lore and read the specs correctly, remember those s7 guns are ballistic cannons with aren't effects like energy weapons by shields.

& FYI per CIG the Perseus is the most heavily armored ship in the Large Ship Bracket
