I was thinking of making my Perseus like a bladed/NPC crew kind of mess around in the Verse type of ship. I’ve already got a Polaris and that’s going to be my fun with friends ship but both ships look fantastic in concept.
Why does hardly anyone mention one of the two main selling points of the ship? The ARMOR! It will probably be kinda slow, because armor. It will probably take many fighters with heavy hitting weapons like size fives and torps to do significant damage, because armor. It will probably be hard to land and take off on larger planets, because armor.
I believe I did
It might not be as hard as you think to take off from planets, since it has VTOL and is made with a rover in mind.
How do you use a Perseus? Point big guns at enemy. Pull trigger until pretty fireball appears.
Great content- feels like everyone is imagining what they are going to do- hope the game lives up to the expectations. Flying any of these huge ships is going to be a pain in the ass.
I don't know. This ship really hooked me visually, but I just don't think it's going to be useful enough to field. If you think the Redeemer's turrets are too slow, I bet these will be 1/3 to 1/2 the speed. We are a LONG ways away from having ships big enough to need to be attacked with these things, and servers big enough to hold the crews of both fleets. I mean MAYBE if armor comes in and this thing's heavy armor makes it more or less impervious to all guns size4 and lower, but otherwise, it has huge blind spots and will require escorts.
Two words: Crew Efficiency
You can man an awful lot of these with the crew needed for the big boys. If the cannons are comparable to Slayer Cannons on damage, the sheer Alpha Damage they pack will be terrifying even if ammo is limited.
It'll be good for efficiency but this ship may have some drawbacks, but i do intend to get one
If I were you I'd ditch the Nautilus and get a Perseus.
Nautilus is going to wind up Being a huge waste of money unless they really rethink it. And do some serious handwavium to make it work
I think it to be the other way around, since the nautilus can disable other mines and deploy turret mines, I'll end up with both
At 3 minutes that is the original plans which they changed to the second set of pictures of the internals.
I dream that one good day he will arrive in my little fleet 🙂 It is a pity that there is no information when Perseus will go on sale, and also the price bites a little 🙁

I just love the whole concept of the perseus. What I think it just lacks though is customizability. An aftermarket kit to switch one or both of the turrets for a size 8 or 9 gun so that you could fit it to be a specialized anti cap ship for supporting in fleet engagements. Think Ion Cannon frigates from Homeworld if you will. At that point you would have the absolute bare minimum defense vs. small and medium ships with the size 3 turrets, but tangible anti capital firepower (unlike what vague thing they said in the FAQ).
Requiring the single size 8 or 9 gun to be manually operated somehow, either as a very slow turret or like a minigame where you have to coordinate with the captain/pilot to time the firing of the gun correctly (this is something I hope they introduce to other capital ships with fixed large weapons like Idris Railgun).
Ive always wanted an anti capital large ship, and perseus is almost that. Polaris is too capital for me, doesnt tick the right visual flavours for me personally and too torpedo focused. Basically I want the Perseus to be for large ships what Ares is to medium ships, or at least have the option to be.
