I thank my lord for Shaye. what a talent, she has it all, looks, style and talent. Oh mad props to Dr. White, top tier playing, but Shaye....can I get an amen?
I love your traditional New Orleands jazz stylized as the 1930s, I feel like being moved back in time, your performance is brilliant, thank you for playing and putting your music in to internet, congratulations, good wishes for Tuba Skinny and musicians who used to play with them and those who played with them as a guest . Your great fan - Kazimierz from Gdańsk (Poland).
Shaye is amazing on piano. She plays with great rhythm, power, and control. To think that she thinks fast enough to improvise at that speed is incredible. How fortunate are we who get to witness such art created on the fly, the product of years of practice and perseverance!
And how fortunate we all are that Shaye Cohn felt the age-old lure of New Orleans and decided to come South and join the mix of the all-time greats, and add her touch to the Legacy music of the Crescent City. I would like to urge all the preservation society types,, some still heralding from the Garden District, to actively support the rare talent like this, and encourage future generations to pass on the torch.
Everytime i listen to TS, i find it easy to get into day dream mode, that takes me back to gentler, happier times. Watching Shaye 's elbows, tapping out musical bliss, then the music stops, ------------ And i'm back to reality
During the performance, I was looking at Sarah Peterson. She was sincerely enjoying. At some moment I caught myself responding to Sarah's smile. It was a great feeling. Thank you, Raoul, for posting this.
Listening in to this number just one more time - and then another and another. Each seems to reveal a brilliance I know never in any other way. The beautiful beat so strong is from the very heart of both these talented players. The listeners in the background know it too with spontaneouse applause so well deserved.
Sublime! And you caught Shaye's sister in the background, as well as the woman in the red coat texting throughout the performance. She cannot know what she missed, yes? Well done. As usual! DOUGout
Earling Garvie Absolutely. He’s also one of the greatest New Orleans Jazz historians around. And a professor at Xavier University. Just an impressive person all around.

Awesome clarinet. A master class in how it's done. Shaye provides great support on piano. I love this performance by two talented people..
Truly ... beautiful.
Two brilliant musicians from different times playing together - pure enjoyment!!

That's not improv. It only sounds that way because of many-many rehearsals.
And how fortunate we all are that Shaye Cohn

Shaye Cohn! Wow! Thank you for renewing my interest in N.O jazz!
I am happy when I hear these two. make music with my örgeli myself. But it touches me a lot. World class
Both are highly talented and the two just sound great together. Their timing is right on‼️
Beautiful!
I love that Salon style piano playing . Thank you Miss Shaye.
Thank you for the gift of Shaye Cohn and Dr Michael White .... The very SOUL of the South .

Both, lovely Shaye and impressing Dr. White, really true masters. And characters to admire. Thanks so much to both!
Pure genius!
Magnificent!! Bless you both!
I enjoy the way the local musicians seem to circulate the area supporting each other. Maybe we can all learn from this!
They make it seem so easy...truly power duo, two great musicians and fantastic good old NO delightful Jazz! Music at its best!!!

That is truly awesome. Only wish I had been there to see and hear it.
Thanks!
I wish I knew these two people. Sign me, Dixieland fan for 70 years.
This piece is just dripping with the blues!
My ChihuaRat & I are movin' into this piano.
That way we'll have front-row seats every time these two incredibly-talented humans play!!!

Oh. .... Hell ..... Yes!!
Excellent !
...woowwww....!!!!! Great and amazing talent this two musician.... Congratulations....and.... THANKSSSS
Those folks just hanging out are fortunate to be in such great company.
The lady sitting to the right is Smokin Times Jazz Club singer.
That’s Greg from Tuba Skinny standing there!
BRAVO !!! 👏👏👏
Also Greg Sherman from Tuba Skinny! The previous saw Todd Burdick walk through, TS hanging out.
Sarah Peterson beside the door too! Must be a tight community.
Nice work you compliment each other!
Sublime!

Wow... Dr. White!
Love that woman !
ohhhh mis Cohen ....que talento
Cheers 🌬🙏💜🤓😘
Sure we all like Shaye but what about Dr.White's powerful chalumeau ...so in keeping with the early N.O style and hardly heard these days.
Earling Garvie Absolutely. He’s also one of the greatest New Orleans Jazz historians around. And a professor at Xavier University. Just an impressive person all around.
Det er bare dejligt
Found myself in front of my computer screen clapping with everyone at the end!
Shaye, you sure make a piano talk!!
Those are some clean clarinet notes
How to slow down that high speed train racing in your head…. Thanks S C & Dr M W
Hello everyone, I was deeply touched by their music. Question: is there a way to write Shaye and Michael ? Many thanks Martin
Is that Greg with Tuba Skinny standing in the doorway?
Круто!
Dr. White shows a George Lewis influence but in the end he is his own man. One of the Clarinet Greats. Long May it be so!!
Is the singer of the "smoking time jazz club" who sits on right ?
Yes, surely Sarah Peterson. I think someone names her in comments on another part of this performance.
To me it sounds that the clarinet is not quite in in tune with the piano, especially in the low register. The clarinet is a little flat, or ?
Is there anything Shaye can't do?
.....can't play that most popular game of the 20's - 30's .... 3 cushion billiards ......🤔
@@robbinsonhatol1923 Don't bet on it. LOL
No.
She can probably drive a tractor better than me.
How many instruments does she play?
Are the two girls to the right related to Shaye? They have similar facial features.......
Robert Manzke the lady sitting closest to Shaye is Sarah Peterson, singer for Smoking Time Jazz Club. Not sure of the other young lady.
RaoulDuke504 : Alors en tant que chanteuse, elle fait partie de la grande famille des musiciens !!

@@RaoulDuke504RC Thanks for the identification as she looked familiar and I could not place her....
The lady on the far right next to the doorway looks like she could be Shayes sister.
Something tells me Shaye does advanced yoga! As well as advanced musicianship!
squidwards dream
To the left of Dr. White are two womenwho might be Shaye's mother and sister. Take a look.
