The clarinet was good. The piano was flawless! This is one of my favourite tunes and they played it beautifully. I could listen to Shaye play the piano for hours.
So much love here for Shaye and I agree that we don't hear enough of her on piano. And Dr. Michael White is such a fabulous clarinetist. He has such a distinct, rich tone. I love many NOLA Traditional Jazz reed players and he's definitely one of my faves.
Agree with everything, David. The only version I have heard of this lovely song which was on a par , was recorded by Monty Sunshine in about 1953 - and then he didn't have Shaye's flawless piano playing with him. This is a gem!
Masters of their art this duo is flawless. The tempo is so soothing. How does Shaye slow it down to let every note be heard with such clarity. And the brief smile to one another at the end is enough to bring on a tear of joy. Thank you both! And again and again I come back to this performance, this time with an edit to add heaps more praise - It's so uplifting to the sole.
Somehow we've been given Shaye Cohn. Somehow someone records some of her music. What wonderful gifts. I can't give back thanks enough, but here's a try.

Shay is a genuine 100% gem and she’ll be remembered as such when she’s gone.

Consider this my nomination of Shaye Cohn for a MacArthur Genius Award.
A Ellington classic , nice and relaxing like a warm down
I love this ❤️ So glad they played it and thank you for posting. ❤️
Very nice 👍🏻
One of the classics played beautifully by two "master's" in a raw recording! What a treat!
Theys ole time souls.
You folks made my sorry day and and I thank you sincerely!
Very nice!
Lionel Darde ???
Chase those blues away.....
What a superb rendition. Previously my favourite version was an old vocal by Adelaide Hall but yours blows me away. Cheers from Down Under
The marvelous Greg Sherman with the imbebe for ya.
Adoro el Jazz de New Orleans.Esta mujer està tocada por el duende,la música le fluye tan natural como la lluvia a la tierra.Congratulations
Weltklasse mit Herz
Тема великолепная ! Исполнение выше всяких похвал!!!
Bello trabajo musical en dúo..
That is a Duke Ellington composition..C 1928.
Sorry, but the Duke stole it from King Oliver...straight lift...
Tom M and Aurora N do NOT have to “eat their hearts out”. They are musical treasures As are Shane C and Dr M. So there
yes, they do. In fact I'll ask if they'd like some ketchup.
Was there ever anyone greater than Duke Ellington? I'll answer that: No, never.
Hello everyone, I was deeply touched by their music. Question: is there a way to write Shaye and Michael ? Many thanks Martin
O-Boy
Good as this is , and boy it's good, it does not match Adelaide Hall and Duke Ellington... from 1927.....

This is probably a sin, but I cranked up the Playback speed to 1.25...
