I’m about to paint a truck with similar two tone tone scheme except it’s red and white. I was hesitant to paint the darker color first but I think doing the red first then the white will make it easier to mask the door jambs. Thanks for this video even though I’m late🤣
Nice job. How much time does a person have to spray the clear coat? Because, on a normal full color paint job you just wait, like what? 20 mins to 30 mins or something like that right, and shoot the clear so that it binds to the base. Well here, you can't do that of course, as you have to wait (or fast forward you're wait, like you can in paint booth by cranking up the heat) for the paint to dry because you need to tape and mask it off. So this means like an hour or so will go by before you can shoot the clear but it will be ok and not peel off of course, as people have been two tone cars for years, but how long is too long before you risk the clear not bonding well, and risking it peeling a few months or a year latter?
Normally you wait around 10-15 minutes before you spray clears you can wait longer but when the paint is flashed off, it’s ready. Some paints take longer depending on what reducer you are using or in this case using water base. As far as how long is TOO long. With most modern base coats you can wait up to 18-20 hours to clear and it will be okay. If you wait longer you will have to give the base a light scuff for proper adhesion.
@@Eric_Kinser Oh wow! I had no idea you had that long! Well, in that case, you might as well just wait overnight, if you are shooting the car at home, DIY, before masking off and shooting th second color, then just clearing the whole thing after your second color has flashed, right? Wouldn't that be the safest way for the DIY'er?

How do you have that 360 set up for clear ?settings”
How come you used the Walcome 360 for clear coat instead of the Iwata
I prefer it to the walcom for clear coat, iwata is great the the walcom gives better results for me!
🤙get it bro
