@@bele28 I think they need to put it over a lighter base. Maybe over the gray or even try it over a blue base. I think it looks good, but I'd love to see it with a more pronounced blue like you see when they pour the mix into the paint canister. That blue looks AMAZING there!
This is a "mature" colour, you can even spot some slight purpling of the blue in certain angles along with the fade to black is really stunning! Well done team!
I think if I was gonna dip my car, this is what I would go with. Im loving it. I want to see you combine ZBR and ZBB sometime, maybe do some speedshapes with different ratios? Throw in some ZBO, why not? I want to see how the black to color and color to black shifts work either against or with each other.
This is just beautiful. Since you went with the lighter pigment load and it turned out so well, would you consider doing a side by side or split paint job showing the differences in too little/correct/too much pigment and what the results are?
Now THIS is the color that I would love to see the rainbow unicorn over/ or in conjunction with...I think- think being the word...that it would be an absolute sparkler!!!That could possibly be a 10..!!
That is beautiful! The deep blue is such a classy color and then shifts to black which makes it a little sinister. It doesn’t jump out like many of the other color shift pearls but I can’t look away. Awesome!
this has to be one of if not the best one you have ever done !!! from black to blue, perfect. most of the hyper shifts have green or red or gold r something in then that just messes up the finished look . this is perfect.
Hey DYC. Of all the paint jobs I've seen you do. This one is subtle but effective. It's there but not. Amazing invisible color shift. Not over the top and in your face.I love this. Good job. Regards Bon 👣
5/5. Glad you guys made this a kit, too! Looks like a paint option you'd pay extra for at the dealership when spec'ing out your own car! Would love to see this done "off the rails" as mentioned and see what happens when you go past the recommended pigment load.
Love the chrome-like effect this has on the finish. It's not too loud, even at the brightest angle, and would complement just about any car looking for the kind of radiance this parades effortlessly. 5/5
Blue is my favorite so I knew from the start, this would be great. You exceeded my expectations, this is stunning! You could even say a show stopper. I love how there's some midnight purple III vibes coming in as well. One of the best in my opinion, as always. ..big thank you for including us on your journey! !
Love this color. I could see the wheels turning when told heavier loads could cause some interesting results. Would love to see what a 10 gram and 15 gram load like. Keep up the great work guys.
This has now become one of my favorite hypershifts! Absolutely blown away, and it almost looks like my factory Midnight Black Pearl on my 03 WRX. Gabe hit it on the head with 5 grams and it's beautiful!
That.. is the SICKEST blue I've ever seen in my life.!!! 5 without a doubt.. I'd love to see this on my 2015 Charger.. but anyways thanks for sharing...
Yo this is 5/5 easy!!! The black to blue back to black is just seemless and the shades of the colors just work together so we’ll!! Definitely my new favorite❤
I love how this looks when done the recommended way.... But the over spraying result sounds interesting too. I'm hoping from the look in Fonzie's eyes and the sigh from Gabe we get to see that eventually.
LOL! There is no negative effect with too much of this pearl you just start losing the black and start introducing more purples and ambers. It will definitely be beautiful with a higher pearl load we just really wanted the black to blue effect for this one.
i was just gonna say the same thing. dip really doesn't have a solid luster like cosmetic PPF has. I just got some samples of flexishield in the other day and my god... its the cats meow... way better than dip, way better than crappy orange peel vinyl wrap...just straight up wow. to the point where you'd almost want to lay it down on a detailed car thats had all of its orange peel smoothed out ( not sure if it would shine through the film or not )
That's a pretty sick combo. The blue is dynamic and the colour change is in good proportion. May even get away with a little more in the mix for a slight darker result.
Feel like this was made for me😂 been searching for a color with this exact effect it’s exactly what I wanted when visualizing it in my mind and now here it is, I love it.
that blue is insane! I was just about to do blue/black candy until this came out! Ordered 10g as soon as I saw the pour! How many coats did you have to spray to get the coverage?
I don't think I've commented on another video but THIS is the color I've been waiting for! Love all of the crazy things y'all try on this channel! Keep at it!
Dope. Make it satin. You guys need to show the matte and satin finishes more love. As stealthy as that RS7 is, turn down the shine. It's still beautiful.
Pretty great. Not sure if the blue really pops or not, maybe the camera isn't picking it up very well or not. A blue to black shift is something I have wanted for almost 30 years. I love the idea.
The entire point of why this is getting better comments than any other one I've ever seen is because it's subtle. MOST of these hypershifts are too "better kick"! They look like something a teenager would love or show. But most adults, prefer something a little more classy and refined, with less zing. Get it?
You seen his equipment? 😂😂😂🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️ Fu..ng RS7 paint in the garage with those equipment 🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️💩💩💩💩💩💩🚮🚮🚮🚮🚮
That is the cleanest hypershift you’ve ever done, this looks like a factory color, I could only imagine doing a pin line accent with this next to a perfect black over a pearl white finish.
Just beautiful! I'm a black and blue person and my photography business that I am starting is "Black and Blue" and my Acura is the Black with some color shifting to blue, but not like this! 5/5 Thanks so much! Cheers!
Back, in 1986, an acquaintance of mine worked at an auto/machine shop. He had a '69 Camaro. He painted it with, a black base coat then a purple that didn't stick to the high spots (like the points on the fenders). It was like the paint was thinner and ran away from any of the high points. It kind of variegated between purple and black, for a half inch, or so. He then topcoated it with a pearl. I'd never seen anything similar to it, before, or since, until now. The only difference was, the black was a bit more pronounced, on the high points. He was an acquaintance because, I only knew him for a few months before I changed duty stations.
Freakin incredible vibe of luxury... A blu velvet comment you wished for I grant it... Seems the big part of future challenges would be to avoid any slightest shift to purple in the gradient. Varablack as a base coat would be priceless ... 🙂
I like the orange better!! I simply can't understand what looks to be the consistency of water turns out to be beautiful paint literally covering the entire surface so thoroughly and beautifully!! My question though is, how does this stand up to weather, polishing etc. compared to a lacquer etc.????
The second the car showed outside it made me think of my 1969 Lincoln Mark III. It had just about the same Blue. But your "Blue to Black" would have been monumentally perfect. 😭
Absolutely gorgeous! You guys are amazing. I wish I could get a kit for my mobility scooter. It reminds me of my 1973 Covette back in the day. Keep the good stuff coming.
In glasswork, that would be called "Cobalt Blue" (Famously used for Milk of Magnesia for many years). It is highly collectable, and as you've demonstrated here, is absolutely stunning on a car.
The color looked way better in the mixing jar. Perhaps try applying it to different base colors on your "mini" models first. White, silver, etc and add some pearl to enhance the blue shades.
*Mind Blown 🤯.. Your thoughts?*
That turned out quite nice! 5 for me...
Beautiful !
You get a 5 from me
5 love it 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Looks almost OEM. Incredible! Subtle but mind blowing at the same time. Super Marine? 💙
Best one yet. I can see why Fonzie was so excited for the results and Gabe was staring down the 5-grams per gallon. Excellent subtlety. 5 out of 5.
But now I want to now want the difference to 10 is! More purple?
5 seems lacking in blue.. should have went with 10 imho

This is a "mature" colour, you can even spot some slight purpling of the blue in certain angles along with the fade to black is really stunning!
Well done team!
That purpling could be down to the inconsistencies of the white balance of the camera instead of the paint.
This is 5/5 every day! For me personally, this is the best hypershift you have ever done.
Love it
I think this is probably my most favorite color. It's pretty subtle but gorgeous coloring. You all killed it with this one.
In all of the years I’ve watched this channel this , hands down, is the best dip I’ve seen. Stunning, stunning, stunning ❤
I think if I was gonna dip my car, this is what I would go with. Im loving it. I want to see you combine ZBR and ZBB sometime, maybe do some speedshapes with different ratios? Yes…… came to the comments to say exactly this. A ZBR and ZBB mix has to be attempted at some point.
Same here! So pumped to see more black hypershifts and experiments.
5/5 🤩 Great spray job.

This is freaking amazing. not only is that blue color gorgeous, but with the black highlights, it all just looks sleek. 5 out of 5
I'd love to see this in a black to green or vice versa. This is a definite winner!
This needs to happen
Porsche Dark Olive Metallic is the black to green and is my favorite paint color.
My thoughts exactly. It would be absolutely stunning if they could get it to work
Have you seen Jasper Green?

The shade of blue on its own looks amazing. But the black shift just adds that extra dimension. Well done
Yes amazing. What is that blue color called. I love it
I would like to do a 09 Chevrolet avalanche yes what color is the blue. Well done. I have to get this help me out.
I was blown away at the mixing paddle action.
Stunning colour and very subtle over the black.

Love the way it fades from blue to black y’all have a masterpiece right there…it’s beautiful
Love this pearl, love how dark and vibrant the blue is, would love to see this over a blue base

6/5!
The blue is a gorgeous deep shade and the way it fades to black is awesome.

Blue and black are my favorite paints ... this already gets a 10/10 from me. After seeing the results ... PERFECT!
So much yes! Gentle shifts always look classy but this is next level. Amazing job guys

I thought the blue would have had a stronger chroma as well.
30 years ago (and today, still) a very similar effect could, and can, be achieved by spraying a dark blue candy over a black base.
Looking good!
When do we get a black to white hyper shift?
This is a beautiful color. Blue is one of my favorite colors and I may have to try this on my 2023 Rav4
Gorgeous. Of course with the "you may a few more colors in the mix if you use too much" comment, I really want to see what that would look like!
We need to see it over different base colors. Would love to see a better kick between the blue to black, like the ZBR
It would look good over blue
Or over a dark silver
