Don’t know about Borneo, but in Portugal the common mammoth wasp is… common. It feeds on grubs of rhinoceros beetle, and is easy to find in early summer, as the males swarm around waiting for the female to emerge from the nest. Despite the appearance they are quite gentle. It’s a shame that people freak out when they see them and the local council ends up calling the exterminator.
i couldnt help but notice that the thing seems very intelligent with it trying to get out through, well force, but then it tries for the wood, very fascinating
I'm pretty sure that the beetle mark held at 3:05 is a rhinoceros beetle. The Atlas beetle has two horns on the pronotum and is only found in Southeast Asia.

With a yellow head/skull like that, you can call it the Skeletor wasp. Yeah. I'm just being silly. But seriously, this is amazing. This is the first time I've heard of a mammoth wasp! Boss video!
It would not even come close to the silliest name in Science.
It’s been years since i’ve last visited this Channel, got this on my Recommended today and i’m glad to see you guys still mess with Monsters😂
That's one of the prettiest wasps I've seen. I love the fuzz and those gorgeous, giant black wings
This dude a BEAST for taking on this monster lmao shout out him n coyote peterson, real life goats
if Mark has kids they're gonna be immune to everything lmaoo
Scientist searched for 3 years to only find 2 of them and you just happened to find that out there in no time?
Why no time? He didn't just go and decide to look for it and instantly found it. He was just in his house as per usual and it randomly flew by and was spotted. Same rare as scientist thought, just the guy found it near his house.
Editing is magic
Definitely pretended to catch it 😂
@@OfficerCucumber what's so funny? Nobody's laughing bro. I hate people that put emojis everywhere where they can
@@SIJTTY_blueskiYou do? 😮 Oh no! 😢 Better pack it in y'all.
Didn’t even know the carpenter bee came in an all blacked out trim . Fresh to def!
Wow, amazing/beautiful creature, and great video as always
It would seem that Mark is the new King of Stings.
No doubt, he IS the king of stings.
6:09 I mean, what was the plan😂
Yeah i immediately said “wtf are you doing” when that happened. Like obviously put the net over the container then lift the lid lol.
Edit: Omg the continuous fumbling. Jesus.
Heha😂😂😂😂
under huge amounts of stress and pressure, even professionals can make mistakes ❤️
never ceases to amaze me how theyre able to carefully out the bug back into the viewing chamber realtovely calmly
bro you are built different
No - his brain is wired to do anything for money!
Your content is always so educational and entertaining!🙌 Getting stung by a mammoth wasp is next-level bravery. Respect for your commitment to learning and sharing! 👏
EDUCATIONAL - NO NO NO - what has been learned??
ENTERTAINING - Yes - if you enjoy OTHER people taking risks that YOU would not take.
BRAVERY - certainly not - this is potentially life threatening stupidity - just to get the biggest UA-cam payout possible.
RESPECT - just a "buzz-word" to you. Nothing has been "learned" due to the non-scientific, slapdash methodology and the complete absence of any information or data generated by this amateurish faux-macho display.
Choose your heroes more carefully!
Thats a big wasp, also glad to see yall are still posting after a few years, havent been here since late 2020. 👍

"Getting Stung By (Inset Name Of A Wasp)"
That’s one hell of a thumbnail 😳😳
Don’t know about Borneo, but in Portugal the common mammoth wasp is… common. It feeds on grubs of rhinoceros beetle, and is easy to find in early summer, as the males swarm around waiting for the female to emerge from the nest. Despite the appearance they are quite gentle. It’s a shame that people freak out when they see them and the local council ends up calling the exterminator.
Eu vejo muitas delas em Italia igualmente.
8:36 for the trip how old do you have to be??
Most likely 18
Dang
Probably 18 or 21
i couldnt help but notice that the thing seems very intelligent with it trying to get out through, well force, but then it tries for the wood, very fascinating
I'm pretty sure that the beetle mark held at 3:05 is a rhinoceros beetle. The Atlas beetle has two horns on the pronotum and is only found in Southeast Asia.
Its Xylotrupes Gideon, the atlas have more horns and larger
@10:02 bee was looking like it was talking s***

I love the new guy. He seems just as enthusiastic about it as Coyote Peterson :)
This man is literally risking his life for research and stuff
bro is NOT coyote peterson 💀😭🙏
Bro is not cooking
Are you guys like 14?
@@cabriskus4700 No? IM 12 what Are you?
The capacity to hold your tormentor in one hand as it stings you without harming it or letting go is impressive.
What happened to Coyote ?
since he signed with Animal Planet my guess is they're Insurance is protecting "The Talent" (he's signed that's just what they call the in front of the camera people I'm not being sarcastic)
Doctors found that his blood stream is immune to poison after the amount of stings he has received, the CIA currently have detained him and they don't want the truth to go out
He died
Kai cenat bought him lol
sting retirement
*first ever*... *proceeds to find 2y older video of a person stung by a Mammoth Wasp* within 30 seconds... *presses X in doubt*
I’m never going outside again
This is megascolia procer, when i search mammoth wasp i get megascolia maculata, maybe thats worth trying a sting from.
While I also stumbled upon the Megascolia Procer during my (short) research, I personally think the species shown in the video resembles the Megascolia Azurea a lot more, since the former (at least from the pictures I've seen) seems to lack the distinct red colouring on the abdomen.
@@niex277 Yeah you're definitely right, It also seems all the megascolia have adopted the common name Mammoth wasps. From the species I've looked up so far they're all pretty ferocious looking.
I was under the impression that number 1 worst sting on the BSI was an executioner wasp... but what do I know lol
I thought it was the bullet ant
When an insect got mammoth in its name you know damn well you're in for a hell of a time 😭
