Welcome back to the Tricks of the Trade instructional series, going back over a few clips to look at some lessons learned over my time on the water. Kiteboarding big air is the latest big thing, so the most important trick in the big air game is the Kite Loop. You need your mega'z sorted. So first thing's first... understand the parameters. The kite loop is all about the details, the best big air day is just as much about timing as it is about balls... but you need both to do a solid mega loop!!! ;) Hope this breakdown helps...

Thanks Tom - great instructional video, more please! You mention Heli loop also before landing but didn’t expand or show this on the video, Q1… is this a backhand kite loop again just before landing with kite above your head? Q2… And for learners like me who can jump quite high now but never looped during a jump maybe try a Heli loop just before landing initially? Appreciate your really great videos, as always! :)
hi mate, stoked you like the vid. So the heli loop can either be forward or backwards, depends a little on where the kite is and what you are comfortable doing. Yes I would say if you have never tried a loop before then its definitely worth trying some on landing first (warm up heli loops) I will do a video on that too!! 👍👍
it also doesn't need to be a 'loop' it can also just be a big dive... but I will go into that in a separate video!!
@@tomcourtkite I'd like to see a video on this, I think its a pretty underrated skill to land high jumps and loops with just a dive

Yours looked like CTI customs but I couldn't really tell...
Yea I am using the CTI customs at the moment, I used to use Ortema from Germany which are next level too!!

Hey Tom, Nice video as always! I'm just starting to learn kiteloops but I keep getting pulled Sideways when I try to go higher. Got any tips?
When you say pulled sideways, what do you mean? Rotating under the kite? Landing on your side?
@@tomcourtkite Yes, so I rotate while swinging under the kite and land sideways or on my back.
@@jackdehert1159 I would say that may be because you need to keep your core engaged, lean your upper body back a bit and don't let your legs drop into the landing too soon!!... hard to say without seeing it tho!
