You are right on spot. I have the same issue when I go for a session and friends are taking smaller kites out in for example 15 to 22 wind, they don't realize they are 50lbs+ lighter then I am. So I take out my larger kite in same conditions and I have just as good a session as they do on their smaller kites and they look at me like im crazy. Its all about your weight, wind and kite size. Just do what works for you in those conditions and not conform to kite to wind ratio and you will have good sessions. Initially, when beginning kiting, It may be a good industry standard practice which I think they use that scale for. but its not always the best for individual results. I guess that's the process and progression of kiting. you find what works for you individually and go with it. Keep up the good vids. Thx
Right? I see it sooo often i had to talk it out. This is therapy, i am not going crazy keeping all this stuff in :) I have so many friends over 190-200 and they very rarely touch a 9 m kite. for them is really 11-14-17 is the range, and that's fine, they are XL guys, who never wanted to wear an M size shirt! OF course, they had a 9m, but after using it like 3 times the last 2 years, they decided to sell it. Gald you enjoyed it!
Haha this is exactly me I am around 90kg I live in gambia midle of senegal the wind is average 12 knots. I lirn kite surf like 4 years ago with very old material that I got for cheap (very difficult no school only youtube to lurn) then I bought a 17m then I enjoy ! First jump first bankroll etc.. now I just bought a 12 m for the 15knot plus and I love it so mush I use it maybe 7 times but it is an other world everything is so easy with it. Any way just to tell you and every one you are completely right, kite size and your own weight is the key. Too bad that kite company don't explain that and do a proper chart with wind and weight it will help a lot of beginners
A day on the water is better than any day in the office. Great video with lots of helpful content! Pick the right kite and board for your size, skill and conditions. If you are a newbie, be careful watching the guys that are really good - they know how to get more of out their gear.
My brother and I share 19,17,14,12,10,9,8,7,5. I don’t like using big kites anymore especially since I got into foiling but I learned so much on those 17m sessions.
Nice quiver! I think you bought them all?! :D GOod for you! I was the same regarding big kites. I bought an 18 back in my landboarding times so i could go in the slightest breeze. Now my biggest is 15 (due i don't really need bigger for my weight) and now i am afraid to sell it as my first foil is on the way :) will see! the 15 gave me the biggest airstyle fun, i could never get on a 12. possibly cos it is a foil kite with that hangtime that a tube cant give. happy kiting Brady!
You should try holding more wind with the kites,I’m the same I’m 15 yrs old but I can hold the 9 until 28 knots and the 7 to 35/38knots and the 6 until 50 knots
I like how 15 years old educate eachother here :D really! Luca - you probably right, but that comes with time, you cant jsut force confidence and experience!
If you get over 30kts regularly where you live that's awesome. I get 20kts and I am cheering🫨 Kites for conditions. Im 95kg and my 13m with extensions is the default where I live.
Besides weight and conditions, I think skill level also plays a big part in it. I started with a 12m (90kg) and felt overpowered pretty often, resulting in not much practice time. I'm now still going for a 9m kite so I can kite more comfortable in harsher weather and maybe one day when I'm experienced enough, I'll just fall back to the 12 completely. We get winds from 8-35 knots on a regular basis and I think a 9 and 12 are still a good combination to have for me. This video is much appreciated though, way too few people talk about this subject in their instruction videos.
Thanks mate! Appreciated! being 90 kg and covering the sub 15kn with an awg board (like 138-145) you will need something bigger then 12. I would go for 15 or 18! Depending how light can it get in your area. If often light take 18m. YOu can hold that till 16 knots easy. Then between 15 know till 22 you will be ok on a 12-13 m kite. above 20 know you can pick something like a 9 or 10. This sizes wold be determined by the size of the board. If you have something over 150cm board, you can undersize a bit. That will give you a loads of confidence. About the topic overpowered - the misconception is here: people often determine the power of a kite, standing steady on 12oclock and pulling the bar. if you feel a lot of power at this moment you are overpowered. Power should come with speed and in the power zone. Enjoy the powerzoone :))
@@EpicGust You're totally right... of course with the current heat wave going on, there only so little wind I find myself stuck at home, wishing I had an 18m kite (or even bigger!). I can't wait to build up more experience! Hopefully soon we get some fresh wind that'll blow the heat away and keep me standing up on the water. If I'm going to buy a 3rd kite now my wife will probably kill me anyways 😐
I have 7 9 12 and 14 and weigh 100kg, i believe you should add one m2 per 10kg over average so from 75kg I can take 2or 3 sizes over the rest of the group I carry 9 and 12 because as they are Very popular sizes you can buy and sell them much more easily so they are still part of my quiver. But you are right learning with too small kites is a big issue for heavier guys like me as in schools they tend to pair you with the closest size or weights to you but i often end up 20kg heavier and the instructors rightfully choose for safety for the lightweight guy so...you can also combine board sizes to cover the kite sizes you miss. If I would have “Ideally needed a 10m “ i can take the 9 with bigger board or if gusts are limited i take the 12
you summed it up quite well! :) for me the point was to make peeps thinking a bit less generalized as weight/wind strength / and skill level variations are just too specific. cheers mate!
well thanks man as a newcomer to the sport this helped (i m actually doing winging) ,kinda knew I need a bigger wing ,I weigh 90 kg ,from New Zealand .Quite alot of 10 knot days lately ,I dont really care as long as there is enough wind to have some fun.
Also check the size of your board for lightwinds.. better to increase the board size at some points than to spend fortunes in huge kites.. or switch to surfboard which provides floatation.. 15plus kites are less fun to fly..it’s a bit like driving a bus instead of a car in responsiveness..
@@jcva8270 Very true! For a beginner or a newbie, the board size is a key factor! With the turning speed, you are also right, bigger kites are slow. - however the slow turning speed is a bonus in several disciplines in kitesurfing, starting from beginners that tend to oversteer, then to unhooked riders, and even those who want to do airstyle tricks with good hangtime. if one can ride with 75 kg weight a 12m kite in 12 knots, another person close to 100 kg will need an 18m kite, if he wants to be on the water. Maybe less fun than flying a 10 m kite, but still fun, still kiting! :)
Im 95-100kg and have 9 11 13. 2x orbits and an ozone edge. I go for 30-50ft jumps, so I will use the edge up to 25kts sometimes and the 9 in 25-40kts. Over 40kts is... I need a smaller kite. In 12-18kts I get out with 27-30m lines. Bit more power. Huge swinging jumps in waves on the long lines is super fun if you haven't tried it!
Sounds basic but it's actually a really helpful video. I was hesitating between a 15m and 17m contra. I'm 90 kg and most of my sessions will happen in 10 to 17 knots. I already have a 12m switchblade for 17+ kn winds. I was fighting the 17 a lot because a lot of people call them not fun and way oversized but the more I research the more I'm confident it's what I need. Pick something for conditions and not what people think is right/cool
I started with 10 and 12, based on what I used most during lessons. Got a 14 later and now just bought an 8... It works well, only in really light wind it's a bit hard.
You are right about checking your weight compared to your kite size. I am flying Ventum too, 9 and 12m 90-95 kg. Sebastiaan offers a weight/kitesize chart with different weights on his page. And yeah they are amazing kites. I have the Xplore. Here in Holland i ride from 15-25knt with 12 and above I ride 9m.
For the first day learning flying the kit a 5-7 m would be all right so even in mistakes you won't get hurt. Later on for riding you will need something.in.between 9m to 11m In that wind. And a board minimum 145-160cm. Remember it isn't black and white, wind can change, all this depends on your skill as well and the water.conditions. (flat, shallow , waves , currents?) Stay safe! If you want to try alone get a 1m power kite for that conditions , to learn. The control.
@Shukur Dadabaev OFFICIAL in very light wind my dad uses the 16 once in a while but I’m kinda lightweight so as soon as there’s any wind I can get away with a twelve and I got better too so I won’t go smaller than a 7 any time soon. Maybe on a directional. Pretty much only using my 7, 9 and 12 (and I’m getting an 8 and a 10 soon)
@@EpicGust yeah also when I posted this I just started kiteboarding, now I’m heavier but I’ll still use a 12 in 15 knots cuz my light-wind riding has gotten much better. Those massive kites aren’t really enjoyable to ride cuz they’re so slow so at a certain size your not better off with going bigger. For 12-18 knots I love my 12 and 14 but I wouldn’t go bigger
@@EpicGust yes definitely, that’s where I mainly use my 14 for! It does depend on the brand and how old the kite is tho. The newer kites are much better and efficient, I have an old Zian 16m which has like no hangtime and jumps like 5 times less high then my brand new Reedin 14m or even 12m in the same wind😂
It gets even more complex. I share kites between 3 people so we have a big selection. I’m 75kg. 30-35knots, I fly 8m evo. 25-30knots is 10m evo. 20-25knots is 10m rebel. 17-20knots is 12 dice. 15-18knots is 12m evo. And 14m evo for anything less. I’ve found that 2m step size of the same model is ideal. Some kites are better over powered, some better under.
The big issue for kite size isn’t so much the average wind but the gust speed! 🤔I often tried to fly my 15m foil kite in a perfect 12/13kts on a lake and suddenly someone opened the fan and pushed up to 30kts during a good quarter, sometimes from another direction. 🥶 I was just happy to come back alive without damaging my gear or myself😥 I would better have picked my 7m but there was no clear sign to tell me that !🥴 Any advise?
Wow that's a nasty change! Sounds like it happens with some strong weather change too, like clouds or even a big storm is coming. Anyway the wind does not.often.do that without warning you In advanced. And besides the clues you can see on the sky and the water behind you, you should check the forecast. This increase must be shown! I'm case your spot is very turbulent and crazy winds and this happens daily rather wait to see how the day plays out or pick a size smaller that you want initially. You will see patterns and you will.be easilyanaging it after some local experience! Enjoy the powerzone 🤩😁
I know I’m late here but I just wanted to say that I live in Brazil in a location with similar conditions. A lake to kitesurf and winds around 12-13knts too with crazy gusts. I’m just deciding the right size of kite to keep practicing after I had classes. My weight is around 170lb and I’m thinking on getting a 14m kite
My weight is 55 kg and i can hold my 9 in 40 knots. I would never pick a 7 or 6 meter kite when the wind is more then 25 knots... But i understand your point, i should ride smaller but most of the people can't affort more then 2 kites (just like me :D).And if i buy a 7 for example i would use it maybe 5 times a year when there is a huge storm. If you walk into a kiteshop as a beginner they would always recommand the 9 and 12 meter. So don't think we are the problem...
I have a 10m and a 14m i guess thats the same..... im 200lbs, wind speed the kites overlap at 20-25 mph top end for the 14 and low for the 10..... my home spot is 10mph to 40mph these two kites have always covered me except for 5mph that gets tough on the twin the foil is good tho.
I'm bout the same sizes as you. I'm around 200lb, so I first bought a 15m. After trying to get out in a 24knot day I realized I was waaay overpowered. So I bought a 10m for those higher knot days. I also bought a 7m foil for land kiting. My quiver is growing 😁
What did we learn from this video? Idea to calculate the proportions of the manufacturer's characteristics to your weight and the average homespot wind. But if you are unable to do this without hints from the video then please do not start kiting at all! )) Big up to author for the positive vibes, aloha, bro!
you would be surprised how many of those kiters I already met! And it is too late to tell them not to kite, they are hooked! so why not educate them! :)
Mikhail, you sound like a snob. I started water sports a couple years back with wingsurfing which, in my opinion is easier to start, harder to master whereas kiting seems to be the opposite. At least to me. After trying kiting in Mexico with a gifted instructor, I'm still skiddish with the whole power of the device. So it is very empowering when an experienced kiter bears with your repeat questions, etc.
As a kiter of 18yrs, I'm gonna have to respectfully disagree with you. Yes, kite size does matter when it comes to weight and wind speed but kiters nowadays are doing so much now with this sport. In my case, I do have both a 9m and 12m Naish Pivots and these are bad ass kites btw. Kite size also depends on skills as well. There are many days I can choose to either be on my 9 or 12. I choose which one depending on where I'm at and what tricks I plan on doing at that spot. If I'm on a mission to go BIG and for example, break my highest WOO jumps, then I'll harness up to my 12m and SEND IT! But if I want to have a kitelooping kind of day, then I'll be harnessing up to my 9m and loop it fast. Done, thank you :)
Thanks for your replay mate, disagreeing always something that i look forward as it brings more convo to the topic. Look, for one who kites already for 18 years long (preferably not a week/ year, as many claims that as one year kiting - however i know you dont sound like one like that!) this video has not much new to say, you were there from the early times! I addressed this issue, as I seen this problem amongst riders who kites since 2-3--5 years, they are OK, they learned it somehow they can manage it, even jump and send it, yet they go somewhere (like in this example kenya in this example) to sit on the beach and complain, cos 12 is not enough with their 133 cm board. yet it is windy. Somehow they think with their 85 kg the 12m kite and such board will be enough from 12 knots. And it might will be but skill(just as you mentioned to) is not there yet, so they actually would need a bigger kite in the same condition to ride. And i seen many, who not really understanding the why behind this. For different disciplines i agrre with you. Surely it is a different sesh to have a 9 m or a 12 even in the same wind, lets say 19 knots. 9 is fast, playful, and boosting, 12 is stable and giving a lot of hangtime. Depending if i go for looping or for hangtimeairstyle what will i chose. yet i got something too to respectfully disagree with you ;) . - in that 19-20 knots you will jump higher with your 9 in my opinion, so in case of woo records, you better take that one. Holding the edge, and building up explosive kite power is way more important (thats the 9 m kite) than simply lot of power. With the 12 you woudl lose your edge. (but there is a way to do it - smaller board, but i guess this days you wont have a 125 cm board for this sake! i dont at least!) YOu could jump high, and your hangtime will defenetely beat the 9 s! Let me know what you tghink all about this :)
@@EpicGust Appreciate your reply and good discussions. The big air question between a smaller kite and larger kite is a great topic indeed. Myself, and many of my friends have come to an agreement that bigger kites equal bigger air. I realize the 9m for example moves quicker thru the wind window. But thats not all that it takes. For example, A few years back, I entered a small big air Woo contest without about 10 participants. I really wanted to win this one. Everyone was out on 12's and 13's that day and I decided to throw up either a 17m or it was a 19m XR5. (I cant remember which size it was to be honest but I was lit!!) I had to keep the kite de-powered while mowing the lawn but as soon as I was ready to send it, I powered it up and boosted over and over again!! I won that contest and there was some good kiters out there. I even beat a good kiter who was on a foil kite, Aka: Parachute. So yea, If I want to go big, I'll for sure be harnessing up to my 12 rather than my 9 :)
This is so wrong on so many levels. Why you shouldn’t eat salad -it’s good for you -everyone eats it for dinner -people who eat it have a better bmi As you can see it is clear that buying salad is bad
I take an 11 in those conditions and am 74 kilos with 138cm board so personally I would take the 12 if you choose between 12 and 13. But it also depends on your style of riding
Depends. As you getting better you will be able to use the smaller, if you are more like an easy going you an go on the bigger. also depends on the board as prev comments mentioned. and if it is more often closer to 20 or closer to 14 knots. at 20 kn both will be a bit of a challange to hold on to. but doable. i am up to 22kn with my 12 but that bends my body a lot! :D
false. lets say i am 120 kg. the 12 wont make me going until 20kn +. It is like saying the 9 shoe size is proven the best for most people. just not works this way. And everybody thinks himself being 70 kg. nopee, thats not the case! :)
I have 8 ,10,12and 15 …. I am 90 kg and using a 140 cm LW board … as I am 6 month in capo verde I have lots of fun every day…. The windrange of 9 and 12 is fitting for Mistbeet us Kiter. I do not see a mistaken, sorry
dont be sorry. you probably kite in between 16- 30 knots where those sizes fits your 90 kg ass :) if you watche the video it does not say that it is always a mistake :)
well i bet you in 24 beers - you cant kite in 10 knots with a 12, on your 140 board. DEAL? :D@@chrisduc1 and by kiting means you got to stay upwind :) game on!
This is a common misconception amongst riders! (yet for a full beginner you are right! - but we talking here about an average independent rider) Do you think riding the smallest kite possible in the given wind or getting the biggest and trying to hold the edge without even moving the kite requires more skill? One of this requires proficient kite control, perfect contra leaning, and sheeting in and out the right time. The other one is basically windsurfing. you get the kite to the right, pull the bar, you go, bar out, and you try to hold it. Panicking a beginner trait that we do not discuss here - if you panic, you need lessons, and in a lesson you will get (hopefully) the right size kite, so you can gain confidence. I see more kiters who can jump and all yet they are not that good yet, who chose to have a bigger kite - mostly to compansate the lack of skill. I am mostly on my 7 when some of the peeps here where i am at the moment are on 9 or 10 or even 11. I go twice as high as anyone. Hope it makes sense!
I would say that’s the exact opposite. As I get more experience I tend to choose smaller kite in lighter winds. As I am getting better I am more efficient and can allow my self to use smaller kite in lower winds which is faster and I end up jumping higher + loops are better on smaller kites. I see on my spot that beginners tend to choose kites bigger then needed to compensate for lack of technique.
@@EpicGust talking from my own experience, I used to be on a 7m or 8m when the wind was getting around 30 knots gusting to 40, 3 years later I take my 9m in 30 knots gusting mid 40s and leave the water with a huge smile sending big jumps, yes you don't need to be on the biggest kite to out jump others at the end jumping high relies more on rider skill. I been many times on my 11m (78kg) and seen guys heavier than me going out on 10s or 9s asking how am I holding an 11m being lighter and smaller than then. So yes body weight is very an important factor when choosing a kite but what I'm trying to say is that is not always a perfect formula, it actually may vary the more you progress
@@Cheoz0r86interesting what you say - but for me i am the opposite. I enjoy a smaller kite than most of the people are using in a given’s wind and yet i am still jumping bigger than most of them. But just cos in your and in my case it is might not be the weight so important for 90% of the folks itnis still is.
It still depends, but something 13-14-15 with a bigger board like 145 or bigger will do for lighter or early days - till you beginner and lacking skill to generate power efficiently, on time. Yet it will be better to know if the wind is more often 9-13 or rather 12-15, since that could help us determine if rather a 15m or a 13m i would pick. Also consider kite shapes. A 15m C kite will pull you similarly than a 13 m hybrid or bow. Anyway as a beginner, stay away from C kites. A shape like the EVO, Rebel, Juice, Neo, Moto, NV, Swithcblade etc etc. If your wind stays at the lower levels of 10-15kn then chose a kite with 3 struts instead of the 5 strut ones. They lighter = likelier relaunc, and better flying abilities in the light. And yeah board def the mentioned size not below, to make your life a lot easier! Cheers dude
@@EpicGust what about :1 x Xplore 12m 1 x tough bar v3 - 51cm wide 1 x 2.5m extensions 1 x Karma V2 145 x …? 1 x Fins 45mm 1 x Pads/Straps L 1 x Grab Handle 1 x freeride leash 1 x pump
@@przemyslavpiotrovski the 12 is a good choiche if you already can handle a kite well so can squeeze the most of the power out of it if needed=lighter winds(active use deep in power zone if needed, nice saves etc) . If you are not there yet no stress , just make your life easier with a bigger size, go up to 13 or 14m kite to cover the lower winds 9-13 knots. Otherwise you might struggle at those conditions. Above that 12-13 kn the 12m kite will serve you well up to 20kn. But since you said you are sub15kn rather pick a bigger one. Board is a good pick! 145x possibly it is 42 or even bigger. Fins and the rest plays small role here. Bar - pick the one recommended with the kite aka the bigger the kite the bigger the bar. Let me know once you tried them
Hi Nice explanation;) I am 66 kilos with the equipment on ! Which number of kite would fits me best for 14-20 knots (I am between Evo 10 and 11). I own also a clickbar (22-24m lines) and a Neo 7m.
On that sizes I prefer flysurfer and soft kites, have you ever tried them? they are pretty damn amazing! Speed 5 second hand is very affordable these days. I fly one and woooo hooo! 😎🤘
Epic Gust last year I want to try soft kite after I had a always leaking bladder. But now I see they break also and here in Thailand used Kites have UV damage from sun expose. I learn to Foil and use Airush Ultra 15 now. Here is a Chinese Foil racing team for training they use Ozone R1 21m and edge Kites. But every day they need to rescue someone can’t relaunch kite with the boat. They need big space on beach for kite setup. Not easy to find someone can help launch and landing. So right now I don’t want a soft kite.
@@andreaspoke8273 I see your point. Back in time i got foil kites as i was landkiting a lot, so bladder was leaking on tubes. foil is not so fragile, smahs it on the ground if you like, no stress. there was no problem with the launching site- there was an endless field, i agree, you need space for that so a narrow beach can be a no go, yet as you get the practice you will be better and better. best thing - you can both self launch and self land the foils. It is a long journey that you wont regret. And the benefits, low wind kiting, still good hangtime are huge. Uv is an enemy I agree. Check the Kitech - kites - small, affordable, very durable foil kites. But your Airrush ultra is really great kite, i love it personally.

TL;DR - 9 and 12 are for average weights, if you're lighter or heavier than that, your two kite's sizes needs to smaller or bigger than 9 and 12.

:) for me the point was to make peeps thinking a bit less generalized as weight/wind strength / and skill level variations are just too specific. cheers mate!
well thanks man as a newcomer to the sport this helped (i m actually doing winging) ,kinda knew I need a bigger wing ,I weigh 90 kg ,from New Zealand .Quite alot of 10 knot days lately ,I dont really care as long as there is enough wind to have some fun.
thats a good attitude :)
Thanks mate!
I'm 135 kg and 65 years young starting with kitesurfing lessons in the near future...prevailing winds 22 knots ,what size kite for me?
For the first day learning flying the kit a 5-7 m would be all right so even in mistakes you won't get hurt. Later on for riding you will need something.in.between 9m to 11m In that wind. And a board minimum 145-160cm. Remember it isn't black and white, wind can change, all this depends on your skill as well and the water.conditions. (flat, shallow , waves , currents?) Stay safe! If you want to try alone get a 1m power kite for that conditions , to learn. The control.
@@EpicGust I'm going to use an instructer from Hermanus South Africa...thanks for response.
Enjoy the power zone 😛
Do your lessons. Then start on a 12m kite in low winds..... Larger kite reacts slower and is easier to learn on than a smaller, faster kite.
"I haven't rolled and then I met you cat" i love these captionsxD
yeah my english is shite. working on it!!
I have a 5, 7, 9, 12, and 16, I can kite in any winds from 15 to 45 knots🤙
@Shukur Dadabaev OFFICIAL in very light wind my dad uses the 16 once in a while but I’m kinda lightweight so as soon as there’s any wind I can get away with a twelve and I got better too so I won’t go smaller than a 7 any time soon. Maybe on a directional. Pretty much only using my 7, 9 and 12 (and I’m getting an 8 and a 10 soon)
Yeah thats really spot dependent - some spots are having min 15kn when it picks up, and then a 12 is more enjoyable!
@@niekvanwensen you know what they are good for? Learning new stuff like rotation, boardoff or anything where a slow and lofty kite is great help
What if you are 15 years old and weigh 66 kilos. Love to kite and have an 7m 8m and buying a 9 now and selling the 8.
That's nice! I like that you play with kite shapes too not just the sizes! Good job mate 👍👍😊
Usually when I go to a strong spot I get one smaller size but mine smallest right now the 9too. Big airzz in 40kn, if you can hold on! 😎
Well then you cracked the code. Not everyone does this mistake and your kites nicely far apart from each other! That is good for your weight!
Why you shouldn’t eat salad
-it’s good for you
-everyone eats it for dinner
-people who eat it have a better bmi
As you can see it is clear that buying salad is bad
DO you have some salad to share?
Nice bombers! I always go visit Tommy to pick a few pairs up every year.
Love them too, i got to distribute them so i have them ALL 😅
I run 19, 14, 11, might get a 7-8 for strong winds
Nice quiver!
So basically, I'm 73kg, kiting usually at 14-20 knots >> 12 or 13 then?
Well it depend also on board size if u have 140cm than 12m2
I take an 11 in those conditions and am 74 kilos with 138cm board so personally I would take the 12 if you choose between 12 and 13. But it also depends on your style of riding
Depends. As you getting better you will be able to use the smaller, if you are more like an easy going you an go on the bigger. also depends on the board as prev comments mentioned. and if it is more often closer to 20 or closer to 14 knots. at 20 kn both will be a bit of a challange to hold on to. but doable. i am up to 22kn with my 12 but that bends my body a lot! :D
It's a proven size that works for most condition. I have 8, 10, 13 however but before for years I had the two sizes mentioned covering 12-30 knots.
false. lets say i am 120 kg. the 12 wont make me going until 20kn +.
It is like saying the 9 shoe size is proven the best for most people. just not works this way. And everybody thinks himself being 70 kg. nopee, thats not the case! :)

Ok. All good though . I kite with my 90 kg between 10 -30 knots … yes , with my equipment…… so I am happy 😃

Watamu is better!
yes you did! Kenya is awesome!
I missed that, Is that means i have to go back??
Kite size comes down also to level of expertise, the more experience you get, the more power you can hold down without panicking
This is a common misconception amongst riders! (yet for a full beginner you are right! - but we talking here about an average independent rider)
Do you think riding the smallest kite possible in the given wind or getting the biggest and trying to hold the edge without even moving the kite requires more skill?
@@Cheoz0r86 you are right - yet the earlier you try to pick smaller kites the faster will you progress on the right things.
Ok, 75 kg weight, wind - 10-15 knots :beginner : which size is good for me?
Cheers dude

1 x Pads/Straps L
1 x Grab Handle
1 x freeride leash

Hi
Nice explanation;)
I am 66 kilos with the equipment on ! Which number of kite would fits me best for 14-20 knots (I am between Evo 10 and 11). I own also a clickbar (22-24m lines) and a Neo 7m.
11 and 7 good choice.
Pick rateher the 11, so you have a bit extra to cover the low end! enjoy the powerzzone :)
Sadly Ventum doesn’t make 14 or 15 Meter Kites. Zian is gone.
9m evo dlab is all I need
1100 euro for a 10m Kite and bar?? No, thanks. If there's no distribution and marketing chain, why so expensive? If it cost 600 euro would sell a lot.
