My Honest Review Of The 2023 TRIUMPH STREET TRIPLE 765 RS!
Вставка
- Опубліковано 18 гру 2024
- In this video I try and give an honest opinion on the Triumph STREET TRIPLE 765 RS. This is simple an awesome awesome awesome machine (YES I SAID IT 3 TIMES!) I think it’s one of the most stunning looking bikes available on the market particularly in that beautiful COSMIC YELLOW COLOUR. The engine in this thing sings the most beautiful note and has bags of power at its disposal. It loves to work in the mid to high range of the revs. Super flickable and very planted - this bike gives you confidence in the corners and you feel connected with everything that’s going on.
I give it a 10/10 and I would genuinely have one tomorrow. It’s also very comfortable which is nice considering its super sporty characteristics.

Just a heads up; the factory 2 pc matching fly screen is absolutely beautiful and helps bit with the wind too! I also added cruise.
hey thanks for joining the journey - have some exciting stuff coming up so possibly see you around soon ... have a great weekend :-)
I got a 2024 st rs and can confirm it’s one helluva piece of British engineering. Amazing bike.
Immediate thumbs up for starting your video with the sound of this wonderful machine.

I've had mine since September. Absolutely love it. My single complaint is that the mirrors are practically useless over 70mph.
Didn’t notice the mirror issue- what’s going on with them ? Vibrating ?
Yes. Starts at about 60 and gets progressively worse. Its a common problem with end mountings.@@marksgaragestuff
and the display..
I’ve had mine since August. I don’t really have problems with mine even at 100mph. I did tighten the bolts.
I'm considering the the R. I'm 6ft, did you not find the bike cramped?
I've had mine since February and absolutely love it! I just put an exhaust on it a couple of days ago, and I couldn't be happier with it.
I was looking for something new and didnt think about coming down in engine size till i saw reviews of this, went and got a test ride in july and instantly ordered one, i could have had it in oct/ nov but opted to hold on and now its just a few weeks away and i cant wait.
hey thanks for joining the journey - have some exciting stuff coming up so possibly see you around soon ... have a great weekend :-)
I’ve had one since Jan ‘21 and it still is quite simply the best bike I’ve had. Still smooth and still has the same power characteristics. One big grin! And I have had 3, yes, 3 new front wheels because they seem to be prone when hitting potholes to bend the rim edges over. Not so tough. I’m guessing it’s to keep weight down. Bummer. Still the best though.
On my 2nd Street triple, the perfect road bike light flickable great fun to ride and that wonderful engine. Great review.
Thanks mate! I'm glad you liked it
Got mine in July, broke it in in one week and have it at 5.4k km at the moment.
It‘s my first bike and after riding a 675 R to Croatia and back from Austria I do not feel overwhelmed in any situation on the 765 rs.
I‘m very happy with the bike overall and can‘t wait for spring to take it for some longer rides.
I‘m 6 foot 4 btw and feel comfortable on it.

My 2023 RS is my third consecutive street triple and not only the best ever street triple but as Bike magazine said the best ever Triumph by some distance (and MCNs bike of the year), my single gripe is the TFT, the 2017 TFT was good, the 2020 not so good and the 2023 TFT is terrible but it's a small problem in what is overall a superb bike.
I really did love this bike - I think I would like to take it out again on some dry tarmac... the engine note was just so so so sweet... very nice bit of kit indeed... personally I thought the TFT was cool - But can understand it's not necceseriily the biggest on the market at the moment
Do you have a lease agreement with triumph? New bike every 36 months. What’s your formula? I want it a new bike every 39 months😂
On my third Street triple. 675R, then a 2017 STRS which was a huge leap for mankind in the world of Striples…. 😂 now on a Sept ‘23 cosmic yellow RS - evolution of the 2017 model. I have had super sport bikes, loads of ZX6R’s, gixers, 848 Evo, fireblade, and currently have in my garage this bike, 2010 R1 big bang, Triumph Speed Twin 1200 and a Honda Monkey. By far the best all round, everyday, useable road bike, ever! Well, IMO. And very reliable…. Fully specced up inc. full Zara exhaust. Buy one, or at least try one. Great review. PS - 2010 R1 is always an occasion!
Had a cosmic yellow one since may with cruise and heated grips. It’s a master piece ❤
Looks like a nice balanced bike all around. As someone who is still on their first bike, a Kawasaki KLR 650 with a 35 inch seat height and I stand at 5'9. When I do eventually get a naked bike it will be effortless. I like to think of it like when ball players swing the weighted bats around before stepping to the plate, I started heavy and tall so everything else will feel like child's play afterwards lol.
How are you getting on with the 650?
@@marksgaragestuff Its great man, very versatile. Just wish it were a little faster sometimes ha
Weight, and size wise, you will feel confident on a naked, but don't forget the throttle response of a more powerful bike. You have to be conservative with the throttle, at first, so as not to be caught off guard, with considerably more power.
love these bike reviews dude
This bike looks fantastic mate, really like the yellow on black with sporty decals!
Thank you mate 😀
The decals are only stickers (no paint job) = minor shortcoming.
Where the bike falls short (my personal experience during a test ride) is the lack of torque / punch in 4th and 5th gear at 50 km/h (31 mph) after passing through a village - you as the rider need to downshift whereas my tuned MT09 SP (optimized weight, power / fuelling, brakes,…) virtually “explodes” at that speed in those gears 😅🔥
In summary: the Streety excels on the racetrack and MT09 SP on the serious mountain passes as king of the tight hairpins 🏁
Gosh I want one. I test rode this but for budgetery reasons and a hell of a deal that I found I bought the 2018 model the next day. What a bike. I still want the new one though. It's noticeably better.
I love every single bike I've ridden ... the nice thing is that they are all so different so it gives us tons of choice :-) hope your enjoying your 2 wheels man
Thats 100% my next bike. Cool review. Further reinforcement for my decision. Love that colour too.
hey thanks for joining the journey - have some exciting stuff coming up so possibly see you around soon ... have a great weekend :-)
Watching this video was not just a review it was an experience, thanks a lot
Test road this machine 6 month ago and I felt pretty much the same. Appart from the dash.. second your thoughts and I am 5.7. So considerably shorter , yet felt 100% at home.
I love my Thruxthon R, but I am almost trading for this one.... auchhhh.
Great Review! Loved it. Cheers
Enjoyed this video mate, I had a test ride of this a few months ago too and what a superb bike! Really one of a kind. I just can't believe how much they have refined this platform since my one (2016 675) Way to get you to upgrade! Cheers for the video Mark!
Thanks for tuning in dude - yeah it’s one hell of a bike… really want to give it a good try on a dry day… felt like it would be a beast through the corners
@@marksgaragestuff I was lucky enough to have it on a dry day and you are absolutely right, it's a beast! Those supercorsas are not great in the wet!
I had to have the Cosmic yellow too. After a months ownership, my only 2 gripes are having to pull the clutch in to start it and having to go find my glasses to read the milage. Hopefully i can bypass that clutch thing like i did on my previous bike.
That’s colour is amazing - the whole bike was incredible to be fair…. How are you getting on with it? Will you ride it much in the winter?
Im lovin it but haven't had much time to ride it. Only managed 160k in 4 weeks :-(. Smooth, reminds me of a mates Suzuki GT380. Yeah, im that old, and no, i don't ride in the wet any more. Did enough of that in my younger days :-)@@marksgaragestuff
Don't know if you tried it, but do NOT bypass the clutch switch. The quick shifter uses it to know if you're using the clutch. So if you short it, then the QS will not work.
Great videos would love to see more of the speedo but understand why not ! The instant acceleration is addictive to watch let alone what it must feel like to be on the saddle ! Haven’t ridden since 2017 and can’t wait to get back on 2 wheels in 2024 I’ll be going for a 765 RS hopefully a 2020 if budget allows.
Bought the 2024 in Cosmic yellow. Remember to take it out of Road Mode and put it in track for full power!!!! Even better Rider Mode with track map and ABS
I loved this bike and that colour is awesome … one of the best looking bikes on the market today o think
Looks amazing in that yellow! I had a 2020 RS and absolutely loved the bike my only gripe was the LCD, not necessarily the quality but the garbage themes it had. I just wish Triumph offered an option for 2017 dash graphics... Oh well, maybe on the next model.
hey thanks for joining the journey - have some exciting stuff coming up so possibly see you around soon ... have a great weekend :-)
The most balanced (in a lot of different ways)naked bike in the market.
I’m still riding my daytona 675 every day.. going on 9 years now. Wouldn’t trade it for anything (well, not in the near future anyway)
Hello. Does it need rear fender while riding on wet roads? Does rear wheel splash water to rider back?
Can't decide between this one and a supersport honda cbr600rr, how hard can u tuck this bike on the highway? and whats the most toleratable speed on the highway u can go with? Im pretty sporty myself and I got a Agv K6s helmet, thx for the highway impressions, haven't seen some so far!
I have the 675 2013 model, from new. Put many miles, like 80 or 90k, before I retired, it was my commuter.
The exhaust on this & mine is like music to my ears.
I liked & subscribed.
I own four Triumph-triples, Bay Area, SF CA.
Two 2000 Legend & Sport Triple, red & creamsicle, respectively, both 900 cc. Bought one from a friend & sport from a neighbor.
Other is my 800 Tiger, road version, from new 2014.
That’s cool man - wow dude you’ve covered a lot of miles … what’s your favourite bike at the moment?
I saw this color IRL last week and it is lovely

Nice! Can't go wrong with a Triumph, mate.
Cheers dude - superb bike! And the colour is awesome
Yup, 2k miles in on my Cosmic Yellow now with a full exhaust and custom tune and it's just brilliant. Released that slightly more angry edge in the power delivery so really flies now.
Ive decided its Triumphs comfy version of a GSXR 750, which is praise indeed. It will commute, Tour and more than hold its own on a track day.
I think what it has is usability, soul and character. The engagement of physically riding the bike and how it makes you feel while doing it, is bang on the money.
Dude how you finding it ? I loved it when I tried it… road dried out a bit in the day and put it through some corners… it handles superbly - brilliant bike… and it looks so so so good 😊
@@marksgaragestuff it's brilliant. 2 x track days in now aswell. Now it's tuned it's a fair bit better again, just more responsive and a touch angrier and more urgent off the throttle. It's up around 16bhp over Standard at the rear wheel, I love it.
I've had a lot of bikes over the years and this is probably the best overall package for performance, comfort, usability etc that I've had.
that colour is fire
hey thanks for joining the journey - have some exciting stuff coming up so possibly see you around soon ... have a great weekend :-)
Yellow 😍 Mine is on the way expect it in a couple of weeks. Already have some bits from Evotech-Performance ready for the bike and also added the flyscreen combo and the bobbins.
I like mine but hate the display as there is no usable tachometer in any of the display settings!
The gearing is a bit too deep. On the "23" models the gearing was 16T 46t on this one they went to 15t 48t that's a huge change. I think they should' have left the rear sprocket at 46t.
hey thanks for joining the journey - have some exciting stuff coming up so possibly see you around soon ... have a great weekend :-)
I own the same machine/same color.. It really is a spectacular bike.
I am an aspirational biker. Never been on one and busy negotiating purchasing one now. She's too beautiful not to own. 😂
Great review you need to test bikes in South Africa , no one even wakes up if there are any clouds around 😅
How bent forward / on the wrists is it? I'm looking for something more upright than my CBR650R.
hey thanks for joining the journey - have some exciting stuff coming up so possibly see you around soon ... have a great weekend :-)
Would you say a new rider could start with one of these? Maybe just the R version? Im saying new im 30 now rid dirt bikes all my life etc just never had a road bike. Currently doing my test... Love the review! Beautiful bike.
I wish the 1200 had this color
Is this the metalic yellow that costs extra or the standard? it looks really nice
hey thanks for joining the journey - have some exciting stuff coming up so possibly see you around soon ... have a great weekend :-)
Thanks for an awesome take on the bike. I had a 2014 675r Daytona and this seems very similar, the engine the fit and finish. The 675r was great on real world roads but it was really a race and you felt it after about and hour and a half. I’m liking this bike, probably going to get this yellow in rs. Two questions does the red or silver look just as special or are they not quite pop like the yellow. Meaning do you see the other colors and think you could have been just as happy with those shades. 2nd are the stock rs tires plenty safe in wet conditions when your riding the twisties at close to legal speeds. They say they are not as good if it’s wet but maybe they are taking about not ideal in wet conditions when driving at high speeds
They are a weapon! If you get chance, try a GSX S1000 too.
I’ve heard they are pretty sick!
Other naked options around the 12-13K mark are:
MT-09 SP
Duke R (or new Duke 990)
All great bikes.
And if you are looking for something left field the XSR 900 (GP will be around 13k) is worth a look.
Yep there’s plenty to choose from in the segment. I think this is one of best looking though, I truly love the design of it.
What do you ride mate?
@@marksgaragestuffwow, and I was going to say it's the worst looking. i always had the opinion that if Triumph made better looking bikes, they will sell a whole lot more.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder as they say. Personally, i think the Triumph is better looking than both that you mentioned.@@rogerpriestwell6379
@marksgaragestuff I have the MT 09. But my budget was 10k.
A little less aggressive riding position than the street triples, which suits me.
Agreed that there should always be garage appeal, I love the ultra modern looks of the new Duke 990 and MTs.
MT09 SP is ugly, doesn't ride, and doesn't ride as well as the RS. A little soft.
890R now 990. You'd be stupid to get one. Had one mess than 3 weeks and had no end of trouble with it. Like all KTM's, ticking time bomb.
XSR900, again, suspension is pretty basic, not great for UK roads.
Bought a new Street Triple R and since the beginning facing multiple/random cylinder misfire issue 😭.
Can you change the dash to white theme background? Don’t like black background.
Yeah you can, it's meant to be a day or night mode but you can lock it to what you want.
that is a really really nice colour

yo this looks awesome
Thanks dude - it truly is a great bike and I thoroughly enjoyed it 😀 - what do you ride?
Greeting from Mauritius!

Nice review. great style.. but please get a decent microphone.. try a Zoom Go mic. they are cheap and work well wirelessly.
Cheers dude - I’m working on it and learning as I go … need to save some monies up for better equipment
Here in India it’s quite expensive (high taxes and lower salaries), so I was saving up for a used street triple R silver colour from the last gen, but with the new colour scheme damn I wish I could afford to get a yellow one!
Great bikes , but ain’t doing it no justice testing on a motorway 😂need get it in the twisteys , they handle brilliant , the RS1200 is fantastic to , not as sharp cornering but very good considering bigger bike 👍
I know mate - the day was so wet and by the time I was heading back I only had motorway to test as it dried out… think I’ll ask to test this one again in the summer … 1200 must be savage?
Great review. No wind blast on this bike sounds a little far fetched though...
Cheers mate - I think what I mean is it’s like a clean air feeling… on my bmw it seems to cause buffeting in the helmet but on the triumph it feels like it cuts straight through if that makes sense… I’m new to this reviewing thing so doing my best to
Hi, What about vibrations? Are they uncomfortable? Also does vibration make mirrors useless?
Being honest I’ve seen a few comments about that but I personally didn’t pick up on that… thought it was a super bike and for me I had zero complaints … thinking about getting one?
@@marksgaragestuff Yes, but will do a full research before buying one. As I am looking for a long term bike. Thanks for the response. And you made a great video 📹
I test rode one back in October and walked away at the end BECAUSE of the vibes.
The bike seems to have a Jekyll and Hyde character to its engine…
Below around 6000rpm it really is quite smooth and refined. Above that, it starts to buzz through your every contact point with the bike.. footrests, tank, bars and seat. It’s certainly not a bike I could live with.
In almost every other respect, it’s as good as anything I’ve ridden in 40 plus years of riding.
Be sure to test ride one before you consider buying.
@@Maverick-motoyou must off had a Friday one because I get no vibrations what so ever. I have had mine since March and covered 7k miles, it’s by far the best bike I have ever owned.
I also have the moto 2 version #273 absolutely no vibration at all its absolutely superb. And like riding a scalpel………
You need to try the latest 1100 aprilia lol!!
These bikes have been great since the 2017 765 buy anyone you can afford and you will be happy

How tall are you?
Big fan of Yamaha, but looks way better and finished than the new mt 09.
Yeah it’s a beautiful looking machine, particularly in the yellow
Di Indonesia sulit beli motor kaya gini. 😢😢
Can this be a daily ride for 6'3', 90 KGs riders :D
My man why the blur?

@@marksgaragestuff bet ya
U need two things for next vid
1. better mic
2. muffler
Working on it dude 😀
Very nice presentation, i think after my MT-07 this will be the next bike, especially after seeing that ugly new MT-09.
I’m a big fan of the red, but must admit the yellow looks great. 👍🤪🏳️🌈

Bit more go than the Z 650 😆
hey thanks for joining the journey - have some exciting stuff coming up so possibly see you around soon ... have a great weekend :-)
Rear seat looks rough for the passenger lol
Get a room its not just the bike that's wet.
Haha
Good review but why do you say garage like an American?
Dewalt bike, 👌
I'm just to short 😢
There is a reduced height option.
Thanks for the review However its a really ugly looking bike. That front end is only what a mother would love. I suppose if you get over that aspect it might be OK
The only good thing in my eyes is the size of the motor. I have always maintained 750 or so is enough power in a light weight chassis on the road
hey thanks for joining the journey - have some exciting stuff coming up so possibly see you around soon ... have a great weekend :-)
soon as the bike was "leant to you by a dealer" just
ended it
Wind on this bike is fucked up but in general its not a bike for the Highway I would say.
Mt 09 much better reliabilty, they sell a loot more Mt09 then Street triple✊🔥
Both great bikes in my opinion
@@marksgaragestuff thats true🤩
Better reliability based on what? 🤔😂
In price maybe, but that's about it
😅 better reliability because MT-09 owners can skip their maintenance schedule and not go to the shop to have their bike repaired aside from that, Triumph is the evident choice - previous MT09 owner ❤
