Just bought this car today! Loving it. Very stylish. We are a married couple in their early 30s with no kids. Feels perfect!
Have kids !
You mean to say with kids this car ain't perfect?
Ditto! We bought ours today. Married, 30s, no kids. It’s absolutely perfect for us. We love it.
I have this car. You don't need visibility in the back. Add a after marker mirror and attach it to see. The back up camera is huge and very clear no distortion. I have no problems great on gas with about 20-25 to fill up the tank is full 👌. And the body kits are amazing this car is awesome and stands out at night with the 2 tone. I get many compliments. Look up CHR tuned to see.
I love my 2020 C-HR Limited. I read the reviews and they were correct. It probably is underpowered but I'm not drag racing, I 'm just going from place to place in style. As far as storage space goes, I knew exactly how big it was when I bought it. I wanted a compact vehicle. It has plenty of trunk space and expands easily when the back seats are down. Rear visibility is poor but I got used to it very quickly. Thats never been a problem. It's great on gas, runs great, looks great, feels very comfortable to drive, fits easily in my garage, I'm very happy with my purchase.
What’s your average mpg?
Just like me all of the things that professional reviewers claim are negatives about this car is the very reason I bought it. Compact, good to drive, good fuel efficiency, hybrid, looks good and reflects my personality. I love my CHR!
@@EONEILL1987 23 mpg. All city miles.
@@jvd6282 Hybrid? (not in USA)
@@EONEILL1987 I average 28.7 consistently around town, I dont do very much highway driving.
I just bought this car for my son and I. He’s 4 years old. This car has been absolutely amazing for us. I love the cup holder on the rear doors. I also find myself having to put the front passenger seat all the way up so give him enough space but it’s not a huge dead since it’s just the two of us.
I just bought a 2021 CH-R nightshade edition supersonic red with the black roof. Yes, it’s not the most powerful vehicle but for what I use it for it’s perfectly fine. Toyota at least has a nice and smooth CVT transmission. It’s an eye catching car. The main reason I bought it is because I know it will be reliable for years to come. Most other cars in this class don’t come with AWD, so not sure why that is a big deal.
Agree
why the hell do i need a powerful car? i just need to go from place to place.
Then go buy this car and then try to merge onto a busy freeway while everyone are doing 15 MPH over the speed limit and you can barely get to 65 MPH in 10 seconds and the come back and talk to us.
@@EJ257IHI lol I do that everyday in my Mitsubishi mirage 75 HP no big deal 🤣
@@gerardoaguirre511 I hope you don't cut across all lanes to get to the passing lane only to do 65 MPH.
@@EJ257IHI lol always 85mph
@@gerardoaguirre511 Careful for those Radar/Laser traps.....happy motoring.
I love my CHR, so fun to drive. I don’t find it’s lacking power, seats are very comfortable, user friendly screen and dash. I’ve gotten a lot of things home in the back. Seats fold perfectly flat. My only complaint is wind noise and no nav.
Does it have apple car play android car play at least
Americans are to over the top. Your not good at reviews mate.
Don’t know why reviewers bang on about it not being an all wheel drive. If you want an all wheel drive go buy a all wheel driver 4x4 it’s made as a front wheel drive for zipping around town not for daily driving on a farm! Boot space is all relative for what you want it for if your single or a couple it’s more than substantial.
As for the door handles don’t buy the car if you have kids, buy a family wagon.
Thank u. These reviews are crazy. If u want power get a sports car and if u want AWD, get a truck. Lol.
nice car for a single adult or small family with kids... good body design futuristic... price is good... i see no problems with using my side mirrors to view the back or even remove the back seats head rests for more visibility...
I think ppl say it’s small cause they view it as an suv.. it’s a compact crossover suv that feels more like a 2 door coupe. If you think of it that way, some of the cons can be understandable
I have a nightshade, I took it from Florida to CO with two large Great Pyrenees!
I love my 2020 CH-R Limited! However, I wish it had remote start. Rear air vents would also be nice. Also adding AWD and perhaps figuring out a way to add a side roof. Passenger seat should also be powered, but I’m happy with mine so far. Hopefully, Toyota will figure it out and add more features in the future.
I got an after market starter.
Make it awd, add the camera rear mirror from the rav4, and add an hybrid option with more power. That should fix most of the issues.
The Corolla Cross hybrid will do all that.
Love my CH-R for running around on the island,,,,,not for 4-wheel driving...Mine had a little wind noise
Wind noise here too
CHR with the GR power plant and AWD would be awesome
I love the STYLE AND LOOK. I wish the rav4 look as good
I love my chr. Strange they would remove the extra usb ports. My 2020 has two usb ports in the back. I have the xle. For wireless charging pad, aliexpress has one you can attach to where the dash usb is, it hardwires in. I got the ebay one that is a tray that sits in the center console and plugs into the 12 volt. For those that don't know, your chr can be programmed to have all the windows roll down with the key fob. Toyota charges like $80 to program it. There is a $30 obd device you can get on Amazon with a 1 month free trial to the service (no need to keep after you adjust your settings) that's lets you program it yourself plus adjust all kinds of settings, like which doors auto lock/unlock, how long the lights stay on. It of course has the standard diagnostic features like most and works with many apps like torque. I HATE the piano black though, constantly dusting the interior
This vehicle seems to be an attempt at attracting what formerly would have been the Scion buying demographic. One of the things that makes this vehicle a hard sell is Kia/Hyundai has really stepped up to the plate since the early Scion days when they had yet to offer any really competitive products.
Lol kia
This was suppose to be a scion branded car
Kia/Hyundai…not even in the same realm
@@revilsdr Meaning what exactly?
I’m thinking of getting this but not sure if my Labrador will fit in the boot/trunk with seats up?
Thanks!

I like the styling but they went overboard on some things, it’s a Corolla pretty much, which is what I was thinking of getting my mother, but she likes to drive high, so it’s perfect for her.
Me too ! I like to drive high because my hip hurts when I get up from a low car. Do you feel you have enough visibility from the smaller windows,
I think it’s geared to the younger crowd to be funky and cool looking
All CH-R's have no sunroof? Also, is it in the talks about making them AWD?
If toyota wanted the sales to sky rocket this is what they should add... I just wonder how dumb some exec's at @Toyota are to market feedback.
When the price of gas becomes an issue American's will rethink whether they need monster trucks or compact SUVs with Hybrid engines. In Europe 2.0l and 1.8l Hybrids decimated the petrol only version. We don't have the roads, and we can't afford the petrol. In Europe the 1.8l Hybrid can travel 50% further on a tank than the US 2.0l and petrol costs 130% more.
So my dad has had the Ch-r for like 2.5 years now and the lease is ending. I am so damn happy because it’s so small and I get leg cramps in the back seat. Oh yeah one more thing, the rear windows are so depressing but you do get more privacy.
My question is can I tow a small utility trailer? I’m trying to go back to CO again. This time, trailer needs to go too:/
My Mom bought a 2020 CHR and last winter Toyota had a recall on the block heater. They asked people to come in so service can disconnect the block heat. It was -35 C when they told people in Winnipeg to stop using the block heater. Today Toyota has not replaced the block heater and winter is coming. I am done with Toyota and am telling people Toyota has nose dived in quality and are not fixing warranty issues in an appropriate time frame. I will never buy Toyota. Bought a new 2022 Mazda CX 5 GT Sport and I am very happy with it. Toyota is terrible.
I’ll agree it needs a turbo and all wheel drive option. Then they’ll have a car lots of people want . I like the car but want more .
Absolutely, If It this car had more power and have the all wheel option, I'd already bought it. I like the car too, love Its smallness, yet It does not seem like a car that will help me travel cross country and be performant off road.
is it fast enough when accelerating to merge into lanes when merging into the highway?
144 horsepower and you're asking if it's fast enough to merge onto a freeway.............maybe if it was a go-cart.
I mean I have a 2015 corolla with 133 horsepower. It's fine. It's slow don't get me wrong but it's not completely useless
Yes of course it is, I have no problem accelerating
Nice review... good that you pointed out the poor "over the right shoulder" visibility with that huge "C" pillar. BTW - It appears that each segment started out with a higher audio level and then slowly tappers off where I was turning the volume down at the beginning only to turn it up a few seconds later. :-)
Thanks for the info!
OK if you can afford the cheap petrol in the States... I have the hybrid version UK, 60 to the gallon if you aren't Stirling Moss... Nice motor to drive and look smart...
God review Dave! Love your dog. Funky little car with serious blind spots but ultimately a Toyota which apparently missed the mark this time. Nice looking and sharp car or whatever one chooses ro call it, the CHR maybe a Corolla wannabe as the Corolla moves up and becomes the Cross. But as you mention, Toyota needs to put a lot of work to make it competitive.
the project mpg is 27/31 not 29. looks awesome however i would like the all wheel drive
Thanks for the Highlights.
To be fair, if this had the 2.0 and 6-speed from the Corolla hatch, there would be no need for that hatch. This would be better in every way.
It looks very very nice! Wish they make a hybrid version
Is that colour graphite?
I have a 22 highlander limited and I’m just looking for a smaller daily car and this car would be excellent. I want a car to run errands or out to eat with friends easy to find parking w/o the hassle of pulling out a big SUV all the time like the highlander. (It’s a big suv to me). So this cat seems like the perfect fit for me and what I need it for. Now I just have to locate one. That’s the hard part
The best way to find out which dealer is offering the lowest prices, regardless of make and model, is search your zip code and comparison shop by visiting this free site: quotes.everymandriver.com/ - Everyman Driver Approved!
@@everymandriver That sounds great.....but I usually check my zip code as well as several of the surrounding areas and then compare. Right now MOST of everyone is doing a big mark up on vehicles..not everyone, but most...so yeah I'll be fine whichever way I decide to go on my second vehicle....
Thinking of getting my mom this car or the Honda HRC 🤔 like you said looks great, it’s a Toyota but some concerns
Hrv?
Get her 2020 Mazda cx-30 much premium
honda hr-v is the way to go. it has the 1.8L engine that’s in my 06 civic. most reliable engine you can get.
Go for the HRV. It's much better than the C-HR. I would wait for the 2022 HRV if you can. It'll be out in the fall.
@@thundergato84 Is it as cool and sporty looking?
His cute Bernard is as big as the car and he has all paws drive
the man is 🔥 though
My only fans think so!
Whats exactly wrong with the engine? I want to get one but if the engine is not so great then....
I own a 2021 CH-R and the engine is perfectly fine. Its an incredibly reliable engine Toyota has used for a long time. Its not the most powerful, but perfectly adequate for what it is.
Night shade but the ca is gray
If Toyota reinstalled hydraulic handbrakes, then we're talking
Too bad America wont get the awd turbo manual version that's available overseas.
I love that dog
Honestly this car is awesome with 2.0L engine, in Asia our cars are 1.5L... sucks
Im in love with this dude he is such a got daddy
No all wheel drive is a bummer.
Toyota's #1 candidate to get discontinued...
You make us laugh 😂😂 , thanks buddy ❤️❤️
Really? Ask the Europeans if they agree. Unlikely
This seems low like a car to me.
@@AngelFish007 He says in the video that he is 5' 11"
Listen babe no one cares about AWD. Especially us down here in the south so that’s not a negative.
Babe?
@@everymandriver BABE......
Well I'm in the frigid north so I care 🤣
This is a super SUV ❤️❤️
We'll be right back after these words...words...words..........
This looks more like a Honda product from the outside. Toyota desperately needs an engine that makes at least 180hp. I feel like anything other than cars under $20k should make at least 180hp nowadays. It just doesn't make sense how weak this thing is for its price, not to mention the lack of AWD.
Well I'm 6'5 so this vehicle is a non starter 🤣
Its a good looking car. But I wonder how comfortable it is for a 350 lb, 6 foot person. I used to drive a sentra, and jetta and they were fine
Really comfortable, I have test drive it during the weekend and I weight 337 5’10”. Everywhere I read, the only thing I read is that the corolla hatchback is better, but for big guys like me it is not the case. The corolla hatchback felt cramped and tiny. With the CHR I felt like if I was in an actual SUV and the performance wasn’t as bad as here in youtube want you to think. If you really need a car that goes faster then you will have to pay $5,000 to $10,000 more.
I like the design, but that's it. It's slow, underpowered, has poor gas mileage, and the blind spots are terrible.
Thank you for this information it looks awesome!! But…
When Toyota realized they've made a huge mistake with the C-HR ...
How funny you are😂😂
@@Liyanaarachchilla or not.
The Hyundai Venue is cheaper and faster, while only having slightly less cargo volume. The Hyundai Kona is priced similarly, but outclasses the C-HR in every way: faster, larger cargo volume, and available in AWD.
but it looks boxy..
@@sherrymdsrn The Venue is about as boxy as the classic Mini Cooper. It’s fairly conservative but still stylish. The Kona is anything but boxy. My neighbor thought it was a BMW at first glance.
The C-HR looks aggressive and fast sitting still, but unfortunately the style is not backed up by performance.
Ur right but chr looks alot better
So yeah no. Dont want my new driver in something with so many blind spots.
Far from. Blind spot monitoring and mirrors help. Not an issue.
26$T. - ? Hell no!!
interior is lacking to me
Needs a TURBO....! or at least 200hp
Very bad car. I don't see nothing positive on that
True story: I beat a lady on one of these with a 1999 Jetta Mk4 2.0 4 Cylinder with 110hp. When I gapped her from a stop light she then gave me the finger kid you not.
Looks like my grandmas C-HR lol
ru for real? I am a grandma but I thought this looks cool/sporty ?
You forgot cvt, terrible
Come on bro it isn't that bad at all.
I'm not interested in this car, f*ck it ill watch it anyway.
Good to hear!
Have you made a C-HR-V joke yet?
This video is like a person with ADHD
What if that were true?
