    Thai called
    Rambutan as 'Ngor'
    Durian as "Turian"
    Mangosteen as "Mungkoot"
    Salak as "Sala"
    Jackfruit as "Kanoon"
And "Mon thong" is the most popular gerne of Durian in Thailand.

Hey Donal, I have not eaten durian for 5 years now... There’s a perfectly good reason for it... If you don’t eat durian for a while, you won’t crave it, but once you eat it, you crave it like a crazed marauder on ends. It’s that addictive! So, no thank you! 😂

Hey Donal, Good on ya for trying all the foods I couldn’t think of ever trying. By the way, I saw you do a little Jig next to one of the trees out fruit pickin‘, just wonderin‘ if maybe ya got a bit close to a snake 🐍 or Scorpion 🦂 or something else poisonous ☠️!!! Do ya remember that?
I have seen (I think) the 1st 2 fruits you showed but I am curious if the Durion fruit is shipped to America by freight? There is a market about 20 miles from me that has lots of unusual fruits and vegetables from allover the world and by watching you on here, I am learning how to use them.
Thanks so much and please give your sweet little girl a hug from an Irish Grandmum Of 5 Grandsons!
I wish you and your crew safe travels, both at home and away.
From an Irish traveler that got lost, now a West Coaster, Washington State sw of Seattle. No big cities for me! Would love to go back home again, but my Grans are here so here I have to stay until my heartbeat is taken away.
    Cheers Donal,
    Irish Jilli

You picked the right place for fruit tasting in Thailand, Donal. Chantaburi is one of the best origins. Almost ripe durian smells much better, not too strong and gives you a real bite to it. Try some while it still lasts in the season.

Hi Donal you are the first person not from south east Asia who actually likes durian :D I’m from Singapore and absolutely love it! thanks for trying! I hope the locals also shared some food hacks about durian but in case they didn’t -
    1) Stay well hydrated after eating durian. It tends to warm the body but one can easily become dehydrated if they eat too much.
    2) To get rid of the residual durian smell on your fingers, take the seed of the durian and rub it between your fingers with some soap. Works much better than with soap alone!
    3) not related to durians but there are little wedges at the bottom of a mangosteen. These correspond to the number of fruit pulps you can find in a single mangosteen.

Yes to trying Southeast Asian fruits! Also, it's interesting to see that the Thai salak looks much redder than the ones here we have in Indonesia-or maybe it's the lighting/editing? Honestly, I find mangosteen a lot harder to peel. With rambutan, we usually squeeze them out with both our hands, cracking the peel. It's tiring but I find it much easier. It's so funny to see your durian reaction lol
