    Great video. I have the two tone medium. Overall I love the watch. The only thing I really dislike is the fact that they use a synthetic sapphire spinel on a $10k watch. Only the solid gold pieces get the genuine spinel. I would have preferred just a solid steel crown.

    I have the green santos watch and believe me if you have issues with the power reserve, I suggest you getting your watch checked by Cartier’s Service Centre. I faced the same issue and it turns out that the power reserve was the main culprit. My replacement watch works well and ticks on for 48 hrs.

    I have a Cartier Tank XL which I purchased in May 2022 uses the same movement at your Cartier Santos and my piece does NOT have the issues you described. I wld sent it back to Cartier for a warranty issue.

    concerning the movement: when it runs out of power give it first some gentle shaking. Should help. Mine goes +3sec per day, so not bad. When I used to wear it constantly, it lost +1sec in a month, yes you heard right. but at the end of the day it's a Cartier, and one can enjoy the timeless design, wearability without the bling bling. Cheers

    I have a Santos 100 model W20121U2, with the black rubber bezel, lumed hands, and rubber strap, and I love it. I get 42 hours+ from the power reserve if I let it sit after a full wind. I don’t have the jumping minute hand issue, but if I let it run down, I do usually have to pull the crown out to the set position and push it back in to get the watch going after hand winding.

  • @matlindell5022
    @matlindell5022 Рік тому +2

    It’s a tad bit too big for your wrist imho,you should definitely consider the medium.🤔Is it me or the hands look way too skinny ?

    Funny how you mention “having the lume to read the time during a movie”😄 because frankly, that is pretty much the only place I usually need lume to read the time because anywhere else you can usually hold your watch somehow to get just enough ambient light to read it

      Same here. I went to the Cartier center and they told me that my watch "needed maintenance" worth 300 dollars every year. WTF. What kind of "luxury" is this. I have enough things that need "maintenance" already and it's plain foolish to have to add a "luxury" watch to the list.

    I believe that the Santos winding issue is a feature of the watch that disengages the crown from the mechanics of the watch to prevent damage if there is any shock to the crown. On my Santos, after I give it a few turns, winding engages just fine.

    • @Philtalkswatchesandmore
      @Philtalkswatchesandmore  Рік тому +3

      @@Philtalkswatchesandmorenot relevant to the santos, but when I wind up my Rolex Explorer and old Explorer 2, the seconds hand doesn’t start moving until I give the watch a little shake. No big deal, it runs just fine after.

    I believe the minutes hand jumps to match the exact time in accordance with your seconds hand. That's why you get approx half minute jump as your second hand is already at '30.

      That’s interesting. I was going to say that mine does not jump like that when I push in the crown. But I always set the time with the seconds hand hacked at 0 because I’m OCD. So maybe that is it.

    Tried on multiple times in different countries and boutiques. Hand action feels like a 20$ watch. Could never take seriously again and turned me off. Compare to Rolex, Omega even a Tissot and I found it so poor and cheap feel in comparison in relation to this point.

    • @Philtalkswatchesandmore

      People tend to neglect/forgive this aspect since it’s a “Cartier”. But in my eye the brand is a true watch maker, issues like these should be easily fixed.

    My crown was loose straight from the box, didn't notice it until I get home from the boutique. The crown couldn't wind the power, it was just loose. Sent it back to claim warranty, they wouldn't admit their fault, they just wrote "regular servicing" lmao

    Agree with the issues/reliability of the movement. My 1.5yrs old Santos died on me and no longer winds via winding the crown or shaking it. Sent it in today for repairs under warranty. Hope it’s just a QC issue that will be resolved. The saving grace is the watch comes with 8 years warranty. Nonetheless, it’s a beautiful watch with a great history and I will be keeping it in my collection.
