Hamilton Khaki Auto - My First Mechanical Watch
I think the black Speedy looks more classic. The white looks great too but I prefer the classic black, more boring as it may be.
Great review. Well done.
Just got the same spec. I’m in love lol
It’s not xviii😂
My favorite 2024 is the Prospex Limited Edition 1965 Recreation European Exclusive in Gradation Island Blue. The dial is stunning and the contrast when on a white strap is to die for. I will get my hands on one from AMZWATCH
Nice to see AMZWATCH show a watch that can be afforded by almost anyone rather than these pieces costing thousands and thousands which are out of reach for so many.
Does minute hand jumping always because mine has that even my omega
Which model is your omega? My smp300 has no issue at all.
IMHO the 43mm version is the ideal one for normal sized wrists. Now, is it a true BP? Yes and No. Yes because it still has the pedigree and character of the original BP and No because it doesn’t have its size. Having said that its clean design (no date or power reserve indication) brings it much closer to original’s origin and makes it a far more attractive choice. But that’s purely personal.
it has NO Micro adjustment at all. so when you're wrist swells up you're not going to be interchanging links when you're out and about.
I like it because of the legibility. There's no date to set and it's the perfect size and weight. Next on my list and I have a Black Bay 41mm blue bezel, 300m and Planet Ocean. This may complete my collection (for a while LOL).
Zenith hands-down. I don’t buy watches for resale. To me, it is the much better looking piece. Quite honestly, all the Omega moon hype marketing nonsense is wearing me out. Will I eventually have an Omega moon watch in my collection, sure.
Can I find somewhere to buy just the NATO strap?
I don’t think they sell it seperately
The iconic moonwatch anyday.
Issue with the Moonwatch is that there are so many variations that it can create choice/hunt paralysis. Lots of not safe choices, but then once you take that plunge then you have to 1) find the variation you want and 2) consider if you are going to pay inflated prices if a particular model has increased in $ on the secondary if you missed getting it at retail.
It will be the perfect watch once they fix the date position.
Lucky man!!!
If you still have the watch, can I suggest you trying it with a double-pass NATO strap, as this might improve the wearability if the watch feels a little large. I had a similar issue on a larger watch than the Big Pilot (but same time of watch) and for years avoided wearing it on its leather strap. One day, I changed it to a NATO and the wearing experience was totally different. It didn’t rotate round my wrist or hang or flop about like it did on its leather strap. It almost felt like a smaller watch - I couldn’t believe the change! Consequently, I wear it far more often now. For the sake of as little as £5/$5/€5, you could test it out.
That’s a great tip! Never thought about that!
@@Philtalkswatchesandmore Would love to know if this works for you…assuming you still have it. As for the crown, perhaps this could be a watch you get used to wearing on your right hand instead? It’d feel odd to begin with for sure…but would be an interesting way to accommodate the wearability.
I love this watch I have big wrist I’m seriously considering it
Go get it!!
Quality
I love both but come on. Zenith hands down. No contest.
I feel cartier and rolex is worth your money
Hahha, Phil, you owned all my target pieces. I choose Pam424 instead of 5002. Um…………no regret too
Come on, me again. The size, movement and size. It’s absolutely my cup of tea, but………
Haha thanks for watching !
Hi Phil, I’m new to your channel. Santos is my always target but…… Anyways good review, thanks
I understand regarding the Moonwatch. There is nothing wrong about the watch. But its not that personal and daring,.. Sold mine a couple of years ago. My most worn watches right now are a Cartier Tank and a titanium Panerai Luminor 44mm
The Moonwatch is intemporal. The Zenith is just another Panda or Reverse Panda condemn to oblivion by the mighty Daytona.
Great review! Very thoughtfully said. You hit the nail on the head: it’s about the safe iconic choice or something different. I’m saving up for a Zenith right now!
Beautiful!
Strap
just do a lot of pull ups and your wrist will grow into it
I was surprised to notice that for all intents and purposes the Speedy is a 40mm watch - mine measures 40mm across the bezel. It definitely wears like a 40mm too. The old versions not so much but that's probably because the lugs and bracelet were trimmed down in the new one and there's no male endlink? Also, isn't the Zenith a 38mm?
Indeed the moonwatch wears like a 40mm! Yes the Zenith has a case diameter of 38mm 🙏🏻
what sort of aircraft is depicted on this watch?
There are articles that says it’s a German plane and there are that say it’s one from RAF lol I’m unsure too
@@Philtalkswatchesandmore I have found that the aircraft depicted on this watch is a JUNKERS JU52. Aircraft that German Nazis used during WW2 invading other countries. This aircraft participated in destruction of Stalingrad in Soviet Union. It would be unacceptable for me to wear something like this on my wrist.
Unfortunately it is a German Junkers Ju-52. IWC used to use one for marketing purpose.
@@vidocq9593 I could not wear a watch on my wrist with a Nazi plane on it
@@janfrosty3392 I feel you. I really do.
Where is the review bro? 😅
Thanks for asking! Life’s been too busy lately I haven’t done any videos 😂 will try get some content back out !
This was one of my early grail watches. Bought one on a cruise excursion many years ago even though i have girly-man wrists. Still find it comfortable and still love wearing it. Sounds like you've come to terms with yours - good for you.
Thank you! Awesome review. And to me, you ended it most appropriately, beautiful thought for a beautiful watch- yes this life brings scratches inside and outside just like the bezel. Scars can reveal character and absolutely be beautiful.
The Pasha is a perfect example of a watch you have to see in person, to make your judgment. I always thought that piece looked ridiculous in photos. Then I saw them in person at the Las Vegas Boutique, and I was impressed! They really are a cool looking watch!
Some poetry in your last sentences. Love it ❤
I think the Zenith EP is an iconic chronograph, and (gimmicky or not) the 10 second sweep feels like something all chronos should have, but how reliable is the calibre movement, please? I have seen comments that Zeniths need more regular servicing?
Frankly I’m rather disappointed with the movement as well. Its accuracy is horrible lol
Great video❤ As a Longines fan, looking forward to their massive heritage watches relaunch.
But the position of the date window is completely NOT logical because 9 doesn't align with 8 and 10. So why is it logical that the date aligns with 2 and 4? Makes no sense at all!
I think if the window was more to the right, it would almost visually merge with the 3 o'clock marker due to its white background. This would detract from readability and just look sloppy.
It’s a beautiful pocket watch
Going for the medium version. Also in the classic white. Without a date. I rather have the roman VI instead. 🙂
Perfectly fair 👌🏻
The Big Pilot is one of my favourite watches based on aesthetics and movement. I just can’t pull it off on my wrist sadly. I loved my Portuguese 7 Day though, I do regret selling it.
if the clock is fully wind, it should point at 72 not 64 since it has 72 hour reserve..
Zenith all day everyday
When people are saying #amzwatch is a better option for buying a watch,I very much agree!
I bought this watch recently and I hate it.
why do you hate it? I'm considering buying this watch.
Lovely watch love Seiko 🔥
nice buy in japan given their weaken currency i paid almost 10k for that piece wish i could have bought it there and avoided tax and enjoy the strong dollar
Okay, misreading women must be why luxury brands are not tapping into the market for automatic watches for women! I am one who is looking for a spring drive Grand Seiko. What year are we in??
STGK009 is automatic with a beautiful mother of pearl dial. Also, women can look great with the larger watches (they don’t have to exclusively be for men). Spring Drive can’t be built to fit a very small case though.
