sweet should be in the rock & roll hall of fame with what they brought to the table. action, ac-dc, fox on the run, ballroom blitz, love is like oxygen...
Absolutely agree with you-when you think that Kiss, Def Leppard, Motley Crue and Guns & Roses we’re all influenced by this band - their 4 part harmonies were amazing- I hate the fact that they are not given the recognition they truly deserve
"The Ballroom Blitz" was inspired by an incident on 27 January 1973 when the band were performing at the Grand Hall in Kilmarnock, Scotland, and were driven offstage by the audience throwing bottles at them. There is only one original member of Sweet remaining.R I P Brian Connolly lead singer, Steve Priest bass player and Mick Tucker drummer. Andy Scott lead guitarist still performs with Andy Scott's Sweet.
This song was inspired from an event that happened to the band where people started throwing bottles on stage at a show and it basically turned into a riot.
That was so fun watching her reaction when she realized she knew and loved the song. It's so great when we run across songs we love but don't know how to look it up cause we don't the artist or the song name. Fun!
I have never seen your channel before this, but your reactions when listening were perfect - you cannot help yourself when this track comes on. If you want people at a disco or a party to get up and dance, you play this - children LOVE it. BTW I was 13 when Sweet released this
Mick was a beast on those drums. In my opinion one of the greatest rock drummers in music history, and I don't give accomplishments lightly. Guns and Roses would watch SWEET videos over and over until they got the gig down to perfection
Brilliant albums from a band featuring three classically trained musicians and all four with great singing voices. These Glam-Rock offerings were to lead kids into hearing the albums. Too much partying and drugs/alcohol effectively destroyed Brian, the lead singer. This band, more than any other, is the likely epitome of Spinal Tap. Even other extreme bands, such as Black Sabbath and Slade attest to the outrageousness of The Sweet's offstage personas. You should react to their "Love is Like Oxygen". Incredible composition and performance.
Just remember when you think that your grandparents are old and boring, we grew up with this music. We had all the great bands.

hall of fame ?....that can't happen....too busy putting crap like madonna and green day in ! 😡😒
Andy Scott ( The guy in purple ) is the only band member left that's still alive, he still performs with The Sweet.

A local pound shop used to play classic 70s and 80s hits and I often ended up staying just to listen to the music
Early glam rock. Highly versatile range of sounds from this band.
