Jeff Lynne is an amazing music star and so humble and down to earth, very rare in the music world of big heads and loud mouths who could not keep up with or come close to Lynnes's talent.
Jeff Lynne and ELO has been the closest thing to the Beatles since the Beatles broke up, has been one of the most important musicians, songwriters and producers over the past nearly 50 years. He produced albums for Tom Petty, Roy Orbison, Brian Wilson, Del Shannon the ex Beatles as well, for Paul, George and Ringo. He was in the Traveling Wilburys which he formed with George. Dhani Harrison is opening for his 2019 tour. He produced Free As a Bird and Real Love for The Beatles. John Lennon called ELO the Son of the Beatles. George Martin and Jeff Lynne are the two producers who worked their magic with the Beatles and glad Jeff is starting to get the respect he deserves. "We're gonna play Electric Light Orchestra from last year - "Showdown" - which I thought was a great record and I was expecting it to be number one but I don't think UA got their fingers out and pushed it. And it's a nice group. I call them 'son of Beatles' - although they're doing things that we never did, obviously. But I remember the statement they made when they first formed was to carry on where 'The Beatles' left off with "Walrus" - and they certainly did ..." - John Lennon

@@tejasmohite2651 - I'm aware John Lennon complimented ELO's music. The comment was "Jeff Lynne and ELO has been the closest thing to the Beatles since the Beatles broke up." I'm not attacking ELO and Jeff Lynne and I actually bought a couple of ELO's singles back in 1977. Jeff Lynn and ELO were never that big or important in music, let alone on the level of The Beatles. They didn't even have a No 1 single or album in the UK or USA. Lynne went on to produce albums for a few great artists towards the end of their careers. Fantastic! I'm no knocking the guy. The Beatles comparatively were the most successful band in the world and continue to be so 50 years later. They have outsold every other band and were so popular at the time they coined the term 'Beatlemania.' Their first appearance on U.S. TV was the most-watched TV event after the Moon landing. The Beatles were also massively original, changed popular music forever and still considered the greatest of all time continuing to inspire new artists to this day. They changed, not only popular music forever, but impacted the world arguably more than any artist in any genre in history.

love that Paul was singing along and Ringo air drumming to this awesome tune. well done Dave and Jeff
the ultimate rocker, Jeff Lynne, knowing this is Dave's gig, near the end of the song, looks over to him direction as to where Dave wants the to go. and follows Dave lead.
@@sarahmcpherson3666 Jeff Lynne is one of Dave Grohls hero's in music
Mr. Grohl, like the Fab, can do anything and does everything perfectly. Great seeing Jeff Lynne and Peter Frampton up there! Love this!
Awesome. Grohl is great but Lynn’s harmonies are incredible.
Greg Boyko Jeff Lynne is amazing in what ever he does in Music.
Music Lover No doubt. My buddy who saw him in concert last year said that the sound was incredible. I knew it would be because Lynn is such a talent on both sides of the mixing board.
Greg Boyko We have had the chance to see him 4 times in the last 4 years ...Forbes Magazine and other reviews have mentioned, Jeff Lynne’s Electric Light Orchestra is the best live classic Rock Band in the world. Awesome in concert!
I agree
I am so glad I finally saw Jeff Lynn live in 2018. Did not dissapoint!
Looked like Paul was wanting to run up there and join them!
Well done!
Thomas Bishop he always does. It is the hardest thing for him to just watch. He loves playing and singing. He said: "I would do it for free." He is happy to be paid for it, but he does a lot,of freebies too, because he just loves music.
I agree! He wanted to be up there so bad!!!
Yeah! Where was the bass line? Paul needs to have a thousand lives to receive all the homages he deserves!
3:03 paul: “if you’re lonely you can talk to me” **proceeds to an epic air drum solo**
Ringo: “where tf am I
LOL
Paul, he's more than air drummer!! he is a good drummer, by the way he is playing drum on Concrete and Gold from the Foo Figthers! for me Paul he's the best from the beattles (writting, playing lot of instruments, still on stage and always open for new fun) Ringo... he's...Ringo... he's (for me) still the guy was going to knock on the Mc Cartney house for give the letter from ''The Beattles" who ask to Paul to postpone the release of his own album.

Ye i am a Beatles Fan too. Nice tribute to John's voice. Could John Fogerty produce that kind of voice -like Lennon in Twist and Shout ?
It's an underrated song. It's dark, heavy and rock 'n' roll. It's the Beatles song that I've listened to most in the past 10 years.
Jeff Lynne (ELO, Traveling Wilburys, The Move and The Idle Race) is the most talented-best overall musician and producer ever, at the same time he is such a humble down to earth man with kindness. Please Tour with Jeff Lynne's ELO in 2022!!!
Every Beatles song was a winner to me.. I never heard a bad one in the entire catalog…. Thanks to the Beatles for existing in my lifetime….

Jeff Lynne rules! Still making great music and still touring at 72. Stay young Jeff we need your music. Very nice cover.
It's a travesty he hasn't been inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in his own right! He has done so much more for Rock & Roll than just being the founder ELO!
@@robertmcaree7016 Yes he should have been in the RRHOF as Jeff Lynne years ago. At least he is in as a member of ELO. We need a petition. Jeff deserves recognition as one of the greatest musicians, songwriters and producers ever in the Music industry.
Folks, if this cover doesn’t give you chills and a happy memory of the greatest band in history, nothing will…..it just doesn’t get any cooler than this……enjoy !!!!
I would have gotten chills if they added the barking. The fact that they didn't tells me they felt above reenacting the playfulness that the Beatles displayed. Making an original your own is one thing, omitting the signature effect within the song is slightly disrespectful IMO
Dave and Jeff's vocal fit together perfectly in this song
Jeff Lynne and Dave Grohl are 2 of the coolest gentlemen in rock n roll! 🕶🎸
How can match the Beatles??? They are the Beatles...great job...love both

Bulldog was huge, but the songs also included Harrison's oft overlooked "It's All Too Much" and I also liked the sly simplicity of McCartney's, "....can I take my friend to bed?" Beatles were the best, even in their minor masterpieces.

I just love watching Paul and Ringo having the most fun of all.
"Jeff Lynne and ELO has been the closest thing to the Beatles since the Beatles broke up"
Based on what body of work?
Most people would recognise maybe two songs he wrote. Give me a break. How the hell is he even close to The Beatles? Do you even like music?

@@tejasmohite2651 - I'm aware John Lennon complimented ELO's music.
The comment was "Jeff Lynne and ELO has been the closest thing to the Beatles since the Beatles broke up."
I'm not attacking ELO and Jeff Lynne and I actually bought a couple of ELO's singles back in 1977.
Well said Jeff Lynne and John are my 2 heros.

I also love the Fanny´s cover version. This is Beatles´ best hard rock grunge tune. A true masterpiece. The way the piano walks up the scale in staccato fashion during the chorus followed by the heavy guitar riff on the bridge is...genius. So is the lyrics. True poetry.
