Very good, do your driver and iron swing from tee then irons from fairway also nobody talks about the extreme importance of knowing how far your clubs go, its the only way to score well .
with the changes in the loft of the clubs, do you adjust up or down on the club selection to get your normal distances? like on the downhill would you get an 8 iron distance (or flight path) out of a nine iron due to the hill taking off loft?
Great question! There is never an easy answer because everything is soooo situational, so I often say, it depends. I encourage my players to get out and experiment. We have a lot of holes that play off downhill lies with long carries to hard, fast greens. Off a downhill lie, many other factors come into play, like a steeper AoA, lower launch angle, lower land angle, which all result in a shorter carry with a lot more roll out. Those are the factors I take into consideration. If there is not a lot of trouble in front, I encourage a shorter landing point to allow for the ball to run up onto the green, but if it's a 140 carry over water off a downhill lie, take whatever will carry the water, period. If it rolls off the back and stays dry, that's a win.
A lot of good info!!
Thank you so much and thank you for watching!
