Ontario police officers have an exemption because they drive slowly and get in-and-out of the car often.
However, the police officer should have turned on his blue-and-red lights. Failure to do so will result in improper parking (too close to street intersection).

When I was a lad, everyone knew that the LAST people you called for help were the Police! They'd shoot you dead and get rid of the body rather than have to fill out the paperwork for the call. BTB, just how many old unsolved missing persons cases are there? Anyone know?

      I liked your comment but...
      Piggy was 'mad' with anger.
He took "offense", showing a very deep emotional and egoic "investment". Perhaps his greatest perceived value in his life is this "attachment" manifesting his "identity". Rookies typically have not yet developed this much investment into the "social construct" to be this triggered.
Emotions are great to recognize problems, and other than motivation - they are useless, inhibit and even hinder the solving of said problems.
The RCMP are a lot more sneaky and hide behind a "veil of politeness" to scheme, plot and abuse their targets. This clown tried it after he already lost his sh!t, an obvious difference of training and practice.

Good job! I have never audited the police, but I have had multiple contacts and I have found, at least in Toronto, that constables, in general, are ignorant of the law. They are great at projecting power and ego-tripping in uniform. But be careful. I've had guns in my face and innocent bystanders almost killed by police recklessness as they urgently acted on obviously false information from an internationally known criminal organization. Too many cops act mostly to feel powerful. Good luck with the Charter violation. My complaints were not even investigated even tho the incident was caught on security cameras. You are one gutsy guy!

To a Canadian cop, "de-escalation" means something specific. It doesn't mean what it means when we say it. This was underscored at the much delayed inquest into the police shooting of Beau Baker in Kitchener. The inquest heard that to a police officer, "de-escalation" means moving from a more intense use of force to a less intense use of force. For example, going from an asp baton to bare handed strikes. It has nothing to do with interpersonal de-escalation like the term is commonly used.

That's what an over inflated ego does to a thick, dumb cop. The badge makes him feel he's a sherrif in Dodge, "get outta my town". The first words he said after stopping on, and blocking a junction was "what's your name" He refused to give his ID and turn on his body cam. He then issused a false directive of "stop recording and keep walking" (get outta my town) He then waits for another cop to be a witness to a blatent lie of saying you were stood across the street in front of a door. He KNEW you were recording from the moment he pulled up but STILL insisted you were stood somewhere else with all the evidence on YOUR camera How dumb can a cop get ?????? He needs to have a complaint against him (he said to do it) asap to get him brought back to reality and stop him from abusing other peoples rights. Complaining will only compound what his superiors must have told him.

@@darrylkennedy2125 I would say, humans are just human.
Besides the old saying, "to err is human", humans tend to be selfish. Selfishness is fine personally, but socially, not so much.
Same as it ever was throughout human history, we just have recordings to prove it now.

You see how they lie" you were at our door." Then it's " I don't even know"
Be sure he'll be able to get his lies straight if he had to write a report. And that false report would be taken as the gospel. That's the way it would happen in court. The judge would say the fine police officer stated quite clearly here. No accountability for his lies or abusing his authority under the color of law. This kind of stuff, unfortunately, in Canada, will always be sided with when it comes to the courts.

I've been around quite awhile, and my interactions and experiences with police in Canada have almost always been polite, respectful and professional. I say almost, because there are always those few exceptions that taint everyone else.
However, even at their worst, in my experience, Canadian cops do not escalate to physical violence the way American cops do. If this encounter had happened in the US, you would have likely been physically assaulted, tased, handcuffed and worse.
Was this cop out of line? Absolutely! But, in the end, he disengaged and left. There is no way in hell that would have happened south of the 49th. So while we have abuse of authority up here, and it's important to shine a light on it, as you have done here, we should also acknowledge it could be a whole helluva lot worse. Maybe, just maybe, give some credit to this cop for disengaging and leaving the scene. Give him hell for his piss poor performance, but also some credit for disengaging at the end.
Also, fwiw, mad respect for you extending a sincere wish that he stay safe. That was class, brother. Kudos.
    Great channel, good work.
