Quite clearly the male officer making the pathetic comment does not believe in exercise and particularly for men of 40 and over. He is obviously not very bright either to make such a comment on camera!
Not giving the stop search record because of GDPR reasons is a stupid reason. Because AB didn't give his name there will be no personal identifying details on it so it's safe to release. The law says you are entitled to a stop search form. It cannot be refused on made up reasons.
But the ID doesn’t prove anything anyway. Having AB’s name and address doesn’t help identify if he is the person on the body worn camera. They can just ask the officer to identify him from the CCTV footage.

Which is exactly what they’re required to do the majority of the time, but as we see in these videos, they rarely comply with the law. PACE Code A, Paragraphs 4 states: Recording requirements (a) Searches which do not result in an arrest 4.1 When an officer carries out a search in the exercise of any power to which this Code applies and the search does not result in the person searched or person in charge of the vehicle searched being arrested and taken to a police station, a record must be made of it, electronically or on paper, unless there are exceptional circumstances which make this wholly impracticable (e.g. in situations involving public disorder or when the recording officer's presence is urgently required elsewhere. If a record is to be made, the officer carrying out the search must make the record on the spot unless this is not practicable, in which case, the officer must make the record as soon as practicable after the search is completed. 4.2 If the record is made at the time, the person who has been searched or who is in charge of the vehicle that has been searched must be asked if they want a copy and if they do, they must be given immediately, either: • a copy of the record; or a receipt which explains how they can obtain a copy of the full record or access to an electronic copy of the record. 4.2A An officer is not required to provide a copy of the full record or a receipt at the time if they are called to an incident of higher priority. (Note 21: In situations where it is not practicable to provide a written copy of the record or immediate access to an electronic copy of the record or a receipt of the search at the time (see paragraph 4.2A above), the officer should consider giving the person details of the station which they may attend for a copy of the record. A receipt may take the form of a simple business card which includes sufficient information to locate the record should the person ask for copy, for example, the date and place of the search, and a reference number or the name of the officer who carried out the search (unless paragraph 4.4 applies).)
@@nocommentuk they will just say they have complied ref ; or a receipt which explains how they can obtain a copy of the full record or access to an electronic copy of the record. Exactly. Their failure to comply with PACE Code A makes it so difficult for people to get search records, although most people probably don’t even realise that they’re entitled to a record of the search as police usually fail to inform them. I also believe most searches go unrecorded, unless something illegal is actually found, which skews the search statistics.

PACE Code A, Paragraphs 4 states:
Recording requirements
(a) Searches which do not result in an arrest
4.1
When an officer carries out a search in the exercise of any power to which this Code applies and the search does not result in the person searched or person in charge of the vehicle searched being arrested and taken to a police station, a record must be made of it, electronically or on paper, unless there are exceptional circumstances which make this wholly impracticable (e.g. in situations involving public disorder or when the recording officer's presence is urgently required elsewhere. If a record is to be made, the officer carrying out the search must make the record on the spot unless this is not practicable, in which case, the officer must make the record as soon as practicable after the search is completed.
4.2
If the record is made at the time, the person who has been searched or who is in charge of the vehicle that has been searched must be asked if they want a copy and if they do, they must be given immediately, either:
• a copy of the record; or
a receipt which explains how they can obtain a copy of the full record or access to an electronic copy of the record.
@@nocommentuk they will just say they have complied ref ; or
a receipt which explains how they can obtain a copy of the full record or access to an electronic copy of the record. Even though this method then seems to require 24hrs and the subject of the search losing their right to privacy not to mention the inconvenience caused to them
The incompetence is bottomless! This station needs more visits.... epic 🤣

Imagine being so arrogant that you have no introspection to understand how stupid it is as a concept that some random person would arrive with the correct reference number on police paper looking for someone else's record. It is 100 percent against police policy to demand ID for those requests and might actually be illegal. It should be a nice civil claim against them.
Why cant the officers come down and verify that he was the one searched. How does ID prove it

I live in St Helens, moved here 10yrs ago from Bootle, went to Tesco 1 evening & was arrested for trying to steal my own bike, I asked for video evidence to show me "stealing" my own bike, to which the security guard was very abusive & replied to me 'do not tell me how to do my job' after 30 or so mins of public humiliation I was free to go with my "stolen" bike after me initially telling them & showing them the key for lock to which they chose to ignore, I went to that station next day to put a complaint in about officer, the officer in station with tattoo on her neck was the duty officer at time, when I informed about complaint, she replied 'so what?' Had no interest in what happened, how it happened, or where it happened, her words to me in so many words were 'so what? Exactly. Their failure to comply with PACE Code A makes it so difficult for people to get search records, although most people probably don’t even realise that they’re entitled to a record of the search as police usually fail to inform them. I also believe most searches go unrecorded, unless something illegal is actually found, which skews the search statistics.

The two women at the desk annoyed me more than the officers. Not a brain cell between them. Wanting you to bring in ID to prove you're the person who didn't originally identify yourself? 🤔🙄
It’s quite simple, they need ID (full name, photo, address) to guess the photo looks similar enough to the video camera.
If it was his twin brother, it doesn’t matter, because they have the ID personal information and then can send the GDPR protected information to the twin brother.
@@koopa2k not a fan of irony i see
@@koopa2k the joke was, sending GDPR protected information to the wrong person is a big no no. Put in that claim against being expected to compromise your rights in having to give ID for something you have a right to obtain (the search record). That way, the more it’s done, the greater chance they’ll HAVE TO start giving on-the-spot search records again.
