    At the end of the day, Yildiz will have more impact on the shooting sports than Perazzi. A quality gun and an affordable price will impact more people and bring them into the sport.

    For me, the Perazzi is about as aspirational as Elizabeth Hurley. Never going to happen.
    Unfortunately, you can't get into a Yildiz Prostar in the US for under $4k. And it's not all about the exchange rate, as Academy sells the SPZ ME for less than $500. So, that puts the Prostar in a sticky spot. You're talking Caesar Guerini or very nice Beretta money. I just don't see them taking off here with that pricing structure.

    Brand snobbery is big in shooting as witnessed here. The funny part is when Johnny asks floyd "what's the difference between the two?" Lloyd is stumped "the metal work". I would say the name is the only difference at the end of the day your swinging a lump of wood and two metal tubes through the air. Yildiz give a 5 year warranty with their guns perazzi 1 or two years depending on place of purchase. Perazzi obviously don't have much faith in the longevity of their guns for good reason.

      Agreed, even in his own review of one it came across like a spoiled kid.
      I've compared a pro to an mx12, mx8, 2000 and hitech several times
      The differences are in the degree of finishing- as expected, but you are talking finished twice as well at best in wood oiling, barrel polishing etc and chequering is nicer. In terms of machining and actual components and geometry it is near impossible to split them, again as expected given its the same materials, on the same tooling to same spec.
      Snobbery at its finest.

  • @stuartwelford7562

    For that one could likely find a masterpiece of a well-known gunmaker's art, cherished for generations and which might well feel much better in your hands. I really like it when strangers approach to ask about a gun I happen to be using. Then, when I ask whether they would like to try a few shots, their eyes light up and I know I've made their days. Sometimes new is just new, not better.

    Having done the Perrazi experience & owning a HT, Yes I would agree that you can spec exactly what you want. However would I do it again if money allowed No! Even though Perrazi do offer a great service, Value for money isn't one of them. My personal experience was with stock & chequering finish, below what you would expect for the price of a Perrazi. If I ever change the HT then I would by an action that I like best & have a custom stock from Manuel Ricardo.

    Both great guns, dollar for dollar the yildiz is a clear winner, it is 95% of a perazzi and 1/10th the price.
    It lacks some extremes of hand finishing that you get with the P gun, but mechanically and material wise its a close as you can get.
    That being said even though its the price of a silver pigeon/and a far better gun than a 686, like lloyd said not many will walk past a browning, berretta etc to buy a turkish gun.
    Perazzi is the ferrari of shotguns, you buy the name and the experience/support. Honestly no shotgun is worth 10,000 pounds plus when you are talking mechanical advantage, but if you have the money to they are one hell of a gun and the experience and pride of ownership is what you buy

    When I look at you two shooting, the real Perazzi seems to have less muzzle jump. Mabie its just the way Lloyd is down on his gun more.. Are the bores the same diameter?
    From what I understand, the two companies use the same quality metal. Use the same machines to cut and bore the metal. Have the same action. Yildiz Has good access to the Turkish walnut because they are in Turkey.
    From what I also understand , a lot of the difference in price is that labor costs in Italy are higher than in Turkey.. Am I wrong?

    • @fullchoke01
      @fullchoke01 2 роки тому

      Yildiz own majority of walnut groves in Turkey, so paying nothing for wood, cheaper labour costs, and probably selling the guns for minimal profit, similar to how audi sells lambos for cost price etc, like you said same materials, machined on same cnc machines to exact same pattern, and from hat info ia out there the yildiz has silver soldered barrel sets which should be an improvement on perazzi soft solder technique. Higher labour costs and pay for the name, i'd say its easier to ask how is the perazzi worth 10x the yildiz

    I love this channel. Best on UA-cam in it class. However, as a Perazzi MX-8 owner since 2006, I am still waiting for someone to really explain why "a Perazzi is a Perazzi" and the Yildiz "just is not". Assumptions that the quality in a Yildiz is "just not there" are just that, assumptions. They may be right, but when is a REAL REVIEW going to give the detail that backs this statement up? I haven't seen it. One might ASSUME that a $16,000 Perazzi is of higher quality than a $5000 Yildiz, but that is an assumption. I'll tell you this, the wood on m 2006 Perazzi was, shall we say, plain. Furthermore, I shot 26,000 round of light loads through it over 10 years and although I cleaned and lubed it quite often, it needed to be tightened up as the action had become more loose than it should have. I've seen Brownings and Berettas go 50,000 to 75,000 rounds before they needed such work. So I'm left asking myself, how can Perazzi cost $10,000 more that a Yildiz Pro and claim there's that much difference. Waiting for a VALID answer, not an opinion.

    It is same like Beretta vs ATA, ATA Sporter is the best value for money, but it is still not Beretta in terms of balance handling and trigger....
    Perazzi triggers are the best, can not believe Yldiz could achieve that on CNC ;-)))

    • @fullchoke01
      @fullchoke01 3 роки тому +1

      The yildiz balanaces near neutral. Trigger is very good- runs off coils so pulls aren't as crisp as most p guns but it is still very good trigger. Have shot an mx8 and pro side by side number of times and honestly they are much of a muchness to shoot. P guns obviously can be made to suit which is where they win. it is not like 686 vs ata as an ata is a gun made to look like a 686 and shares some design patterns. The pro is as near as it an mx12, for the money it is unbeatable. 10k vs 1.6k with basically identical engineering, the pro will never be a p gun and as lloyd says people will never not buy a p gun for one.

    The action that Perazzi uses is how old? It's not cutting-edge. Modern machining is rediculously good and intrest rates (in AMerica, at least) are basically zero, making up-dating factories not as expensive. We know hot to mill a good O/U stock. The more accurate and precisely the monoblock, recievers and barrels are made, the easier it is to regulate the pattern. So I don't see why a faithful copy, when made with the right intent, couldn't put much more expensive guns to shame. (for their cost, at least) It won't stroke your ego as much, though.
