My MX8 is 25yrs old and is tighter than my mates Browning Ultra XS which is 3 yrs old! So impressed with the gun I’ve ordered a new one, going to the factory in March 👍👍👍

I just pulled the trigger on a Perazzi MX 2000 used for 7, 800 with no tax. Bought it in Montana US. Barrels are 31.5 in length, has a mid rib. The wood is really nice. The gun was made in 2012 or 2011. The letters are CI OR CL. I have 7 chokes with it. Have 2 new firing pins and trigger springs and a wrench and punch. Have owners manuals. The reciever has just normal wear from handling, no scratches. I think I found a good deal. I fired some ammo through it and it shoots nice and has a natural point when I put it to my shoulder. Well thanks for all your videos. Very good work. Thanks

I have only owned Perazzi's, Never had a problem with solder coming apart. I would suspect the only time it might become an issue is in shooting ATA Trap doubles, where the pace of fire is quite rapid and the barrels could get quite hot. in sporting and skeet and international bunker, never an issue.

I bought a Perazzi exactly like this brand new in 2006 (although mine didn't have this nice a stock). I love the gun but I must say I think I got a "lemon". I say this because after 26,000 rounds of very light loads (1 oz 1150 fps), the locking block needed tightening as evidenced by the thumb lever migrating slightly to the left of center. I've seen Browning Citoris and Beretta Silver Pigeons go 40-50,000 rounds before they needed tightening.

I have shot one for 30 years now, about 300.000 rounds, and the top lever is out to the right nearly on the wood (still). At the end of the day, it is the lubricating of the locking block that matters. I've used red grease with shock test 500Kg/cm2 like they use on heavy machinery.

    Well done video.
The soft soldered rib is usually not an issue on target guns as the loads are usually 1-1/8 oz. (32 grams) or less and under 1350 ft/sec. velocity. At least here in the US.
As you likely saw in the recent Lloyd P. Krieghoff factory tour the Parcours barrels are soft soldered due to thin walls and they are 3" chamber magnum proofed.
My experience is that the soft solder failures occur most often when the gun is in the hands of savages that slam them shut and also "rest" the muzzle end on a hard rubber or plastic pads sometimes found on trap fields or five stand layouts.
For what you paid thats a very nice gun and for 1995 vintage, at 32" it's not at all dated as current sporter trends go.
Looking foreward to your next video, maybe even a comparison of your MX-8 (with the stock length corrected for uou) to modern Hi Tech. The way you and LP compared the Yildiz Pro Perazzi clone a while back.
    Merry Christmas.

It's not the load or shot size that worries soft soldering so much it's volume, some stands in practice putting 25 cartridges down them in a very short period equals lots of heat

Have 3 MX8s. One for my wife and the others are mine. Early 90s mfg. just maintain them and no issues. No idea how many rounds thru them. Fortunate to pick them up at the factory and went thru the fit and maintenance while there. Great Video!

Had two MX8's both ribs came loose and had to be re-soldered however also needed to be re-blued which didn't look good, also had problems with trigger sears with double discharges. Now use a K80 no problems

You have to add in the mix though! Yildiz! Half the price of a 2nd hand Perazzi, with a guarantee and not so much customised!

Interested to hear your comments on soft and hard soldered barrels and the pros and cons. None of this is relevant on Longthorne barrels as they are not
soldered, so no issues about them separating.

Could be a Kemen MK4 which is a carbon copy. Far cheaper too but some would argue better. I have two of them !

Great video as always, loads of information makes great content. Just a quick question, as a large stature human what would you choose to use as a sporting (clay only) gun in 20 ga. Looking at many but most are just too light in weight.

Depending on what someone has to spend and how many miles are on the p gun, used p gun money gets you into some epic new guns which is a much tougher question

Yep but we are just one legislative act away from tanking prices here as well and it will happen sooner or later. Look what having to hunt ducks with steel did to the price of all the amazing old full choke duck guns.
