Fantastic! As a Sketchup user, these are the in-depth tricks that I did not know and struggle with. These training videos are extremely helpful. I’ll be pulling up Sketchup and this video side by side to practice these techniques. So thankful you are doing these. I suspect a lot of us are not using cut list or cabinet sense (Yet) but are wanting to use more of the Sketchup features that you are showing. My 2 cents 👍👍thank you Alastair.

Sam Rix as usual!! I plan to do more bitesize videos focusing on a single topic in future but thought it would be productive to share a variety of techniques this time.

Great bite sized video mate! I hope you and your family are well! I picked up a few tricks from it. Also I would like to share a few tricks that i thought of while watching it. One is if you goto window, then preferences, shortcuts you can assign actions to keystrokes. I have assigned "delete guides" to N and another helpful one is diamentions to D. Also when you move something that you have copied and would like to rotate 180 degrees. Instead of going through the process of using the rotate tool, you can right click on the item and use the flip along tool on the axis you would like.

@FreebirdInteriors Hello again! I have a question: when you click on an intem you create, where can you see it's mesurements/ dimensions? Even in your videos, when you click on an item, the measurements box in the low right corner it's empty, I can't find where to look for. I have the PRO100 design program for furniture and there I can see it any time I click on an item and it's very helpful. Can you help me, please? I'm still in the one month trial period with the SketchUp pro and it makes me question if I should buy it or not, especially when such an easy and helpful feature is missing...

Ryno Vlad interesting... I can see why you would want that, yet I have never thought of needing it. I use guide lines a lot - the tape measure tool.

@@Alastair_Freebird Yes, I used those too, but if you click on an item and you see it's dimensions straight away, all of them, it helps alot, you don't need to look back on your sketch on paper or phone( I use a Note 10+ for that) , especialy when you do only fitted furniture, where there's no standard dimensions. It helps you save alot of time.
