    I've been excited to see this deep dive vid thankyou!!!I'm curious as to which one that you like the best Marcos(old style new style).I ended up ditching the old style paddle for the rocker and that was a game changer for me and in the app I set it up just like the xt shifter that I replaced(up cassette 3 gears at a time and down 2 gears at a time).I've heard the new shifter is a bit to tactile with the button push?Cheers!!!!

    I’m running the new XX T type transmission on my newly built full Sus. Sure isn’t cheap but it’s fantastic. I have XO cable shifting drivetrain on my hard tail which is great too but the way you can change under load is a game changer. The harder you pedal the better it shifts gear, Sram are knocking it out and the park with this. Shimano needs to catch up but tricky as the UDH was a Sram development, paving the way for this progression 👌👍

    • @blinky2035
      @blinky2035 Рік тому

      Have you tried Shimano HG+? It shifts great under load, without the need for any electronic timing. Granted I haven't tried the t-type so I can't compare.
      I don't think the udh is necessary for the electronic shift timing here, just allows for a more rigid mounting interface.

    • @shaneycarter8803
      @shaneycarter8803 Рік тому

      @@blinky2035 Admittedly I haven’t tried the Shimano HG+ so unfortunately can’t compare either.
      The UDH was obviously a Sram development that yes uses this for a stronger direct fitment and allows the cassette to be moved outboard a couple of millimetres, almost butting up to the derailleur therefore removing the need for limit screws and B screw. I’m sure Sram will have some form of patent in this interface which Shimano and others will need to get around.
      Possibly a cable mechanism could be developed but the electronic axs does away with cables and clutter and shifts cleanly due to the cassette mapping.

    • @iffy_too4289
      @iffy_too4289 Рік тому

      Doesn't mean Shimano can't use UDH as the hanger if they can make a similarly solid derailleur without infringing on patents.

    Great review and comparison. I own the original controller and like it. The rocker paddle was poorly designed and has play before it actually clicks.
    The new pods have great functionality but they look kinda toyish looking. The aesthetics might not be for everyone.

    Excellent presentation. Should have watched it before losing the bottom cap after 2 days of using it. It looks like the red tag needs to be removed when the cap off/not installed (came installed from the factory). I have the AXS GX with the old controller, a lot easier to use vs the Pod. Actually I plan to use the old controller with the T-Type. Other than that, the X0 Eagle T-Type AXS that I have works great, changing gears is crisp and very fast, somehow it feels a lot better vs the XX1 with cable and lever.

    Hey I'm getting a new bike soon, it comes with XO Transmission and a wireless seatpost and I never would have picked these things but it was the only spec offered. I don't have money to throw at customization and hate wasting things, but I also never want to have to charge batteries ever for a ride for the groupset or seatpost, so what should I do? I don't want to ever pay the exorbitant prices for replacing the cassette and chain too. Can I break even paying a shop to remove and replace the xo t and axs reverb and selling them, do I even have a good chance of selling a previously installed but not used set, and what should I replace it (SLX with XT shifter the best min/max)? What would yall do in this situation? Most people have just told me they'd be jealous and would just use it, but I don't want to...
    Ah I forgot, still new to this, since my wheels are built with sram drivers? I don't know if that's something that can be easily/cheaply swapped or it'd mean I'd have to get the whole wheels rebuilt to work with shimano and so I'm better off sticking with just wired gx/xo? Still so much to learn about all this stuff

    I'm running the old AXS Controllers on two bikes, one is XX1 Quality, the other is GX. The difference is only the metal casing and the grey shiny look of the XX1. The haptics are exactly the same. With closed eyes, I can't say which one I'm using.
    I have no deeper experience with the Transmission AXS Controllers but had my fingers on a GX and later on a X0 last week at my dealers showroom. The GX casing felt a little hollow, not a high quality feel. The X0 met my expectations, full feeling.
    Now I'm wondering if there's a quality difference between GX and X0 in the latest generation ?

    I have a question about this pod controller. Can it also function as a dropper button if you press both buttons at the same time? On road bike brake levers from sram red or force axs you can press both buttons to drop the saddle, while they individually just shift. That would allow to save weight on the left side dropper controller.
