I disagree, me getting the powerful and game changing overclocks made me enjoy playing the game even more. Like getting sticky flames for CRSPR on driller, carpet bomber for autocannon on Gunner, fat boy hyper propellant for 40 mm, return to sender for breach cutter, explosive chemical rounds for lok1 on engineer and Hipster on m1k, bouncy bullets on drak, special powder on broomstick, cryo minelets and embed detonator on Zhukov's on scout. All of those overclocks it made me have an even better time playing drg, ESPECIALLY the hipster and special powder on scout as he is my main class.

@@ery yeah i am all for having fun I was just stating that its suboptimal which means you wont perform as great as you could in the higher difficulties and the rest of your team may not be able to pickup your slack depending on their own loadouts and skill level. I suspect but cant be sure that this is the reason most people have trouble playing on the higher difficulties.
Advice for anyone who doesn't have an excess of matrix cores lying around- don't do this. You'll find enough machine events for the weekly 3 cores even without going out of your way to find them. Otherwise if you do have excess cores go ahead.
UPDATE! Due to the new cave updates on point extraction missions, I would advise a refinery mission instead. The chances are technically the same but the cave will be easier to clear. Also keep in mind every mission you have a 75% to NOT find an event. If your getting discouraged I understand, at least you also have a chance of finding cargo creates and helmets as well. I just turn on my favorite Spotify list and grind mindlessly, before you know it, you will have overclocks!
If you mean the overclock events, there's this one,a kursite deposit one in which you kill bugs that hold kursite, an ebonite one where you kill bugs infused with ebonite with your pickaxe, and a tritylite deposit one where a bomb pod looking thing comes down and you have to throw bombs at a big rock until it dies. Each one always has a core infuser by it, which is a white box thing. These are all of the events to my knowledge. Hope this helps.

Expend mineral containers at forge is the other way to get OCs asap, since if you've already unlocked everything, the blueprints you will get when forging five things are either mineral containers or OCs of new weapons.
See, Im relativlly new to drg, Ive played about a year at this point. So when I first heard of the new weapons, I knew that I had to save EVERY cheap to forge matrix core I had and got in the future to make sure once the update dropped, I could forge some early overclocks for myself. And thats what I did, the cheap beard and weapon paint jobs piled up, and it all payed of. I managed to start with a grand total of 4 overclocks. Was it worth it? Yes, but while I was stuck in the forging animation for 40 times In a row, it sure didnt feel like it was worth it.
With update 35, mission events have a higher chance to spawn on longer/more complex missions, so finding a CC3 ML3 point extraction would probably be optimal. Another Great tip for the OMEN is that the plasma bullet hell module is always disabled by the pad opposite the Tritilyte key!
Fastest way was to save mineral cores and forge them affer update... Forge mastery levels give one overclock for 10 forged cores... Thath was only about 200 cores needed simple
I tested it extensively - Although it says 25% chance it always felt like it was more 10%-15% :p Maybe it has smth to do with Aquarq mission length, I didnt always have the possibility to do max length
Yeah I've had a few similar comments and it seems like if your on PC, you are more likely to get the NEW event instead of the machine events. For console though, even if you don't find them, it's still is technically the fastest way to find them. Spend 2 minutes hunting and then restart. Unfortunately the way chance works, you could find 0 out of 15 attempts or find 15 out of 15 attempts. Although unlikely, that is the way chance works. I wish it was working out better for you mate✌ I will be doing this in a group video soon. So we will see what our chances are then. Best of luck
I only struggle with the Omen Annihilator when it has the Bot Replicator module. Honestly, Omen is super easy for me otherwise. But as a solo player, I have no fucking clue how you're supposed to: 1) Avoid the ground lasers 2) Damage OMEN weak points 3) Avoid/shoot down Bomb bots ALL at the same time. It already takes up most of my focus just dodging the ground lasers and shooting the OMEN. The other potential modules are honestly not difficult to deal with. But having to deal with the above two AND the bomb bots? Overwhelms me every fucking time. I don't think I've successfully completed an OMEN solo with Bomb Replicators a single time, but I've completed OMEN consistently otherwise. For the record, I'm a Hazard 4 player. I will frequently drop to Haz 3 when I just wanna relax, but while I do find Haz4 to be really tense, I do feel confident enough to reliably complete Haz 4 missions when I'm properly outfitted (I.e. I didn't mess up my loadout somehow). Everything I've said on OMEN applies to both Haz 3 and 4. I have no desire to move up to Hazard 5, and am content with staying on Hazard 4.
Unfortunately, many people do this on online co-op games. They enter an already started game around the 5 minute mark; check to see if crates/equipments/events have been found; find them if it's not the case all while ignoring the objectives; badger the rest of the team to start it immediately and either leave if they don't or even start it if they think they can get away with not getting kicked; leave the second they see that no drops will be acquired. I've had 3 people leave after 3 minutes in a row, only 2 days ago on a Refinery mission, with 1 Driller + 1 Engie already present, and the Engie even asked what the hell was going on.
@@Musewhisperer You can always queue solo or join parties with 3 out of 4 people. Additionally you can also play with your trusted buddies instead od randoms. This "issue" is a non-issue imo.

The omen exterminator isn't difficult with the m1k and that build, I personally choose stun instead of fear since it's a 100% proc if you aim on their mouths or other weak spot and no overclocks because I don't have any yet and if you aim down the shots it takes 2-3 shots per green light, about 1-2 minutes to be done with it. That said I get why people that haven't played many hours of csgo would struggle with it but I have a lot of appreciation for the guys out there that use this gun for the longshots, crits, reliability, and skill it gives and takes to use.
Personally i would reccomend low length egg hunt missions. The main chamber is usually connected to the drop room and its super easy to quickly check and then abort.
My strat is to use the display events mod and keep restarting the same mission until I get a machine event. I play Driller instead of Scout as his Impact Axes work great for Ebonite Glyphids and his Satchel Charges can one hit Omen tanks.
i REALLY hate overclock farming, because the random chance % machine events its a very important things for coop and also need real skill to master, yet they locked behind % and time gated if i can cheat, i will always cheat the overclock, and never touch another things that keep me challenged ingame

God I really wish more of this information was in the game, I've seen those so many times and looked around them for something to interact with or do with them and found absolutely nothing so I thought they were there just for aesthetic purposes...
When you promote a dwarf your account (not just that one dwarf) is given the Tritylite Key to activate Machine Events. Iirc, you are told then and there that's what that's for...
I do the same, however I tend to only run morkite refinery bc it is a smaller space most of the time. If there is only 25% spawn rate for the event per mission, why bother with more space. Also you can set a somewhat time limit with those missions. Find all 3 wells and order the pumpjacks for them. In most of the cases you saw 90% of the cave anyway. Most of the time I am under 2 minutes when there is no event or crate
On the topic of grinding, I got over 170 mineral cores the months before update 35, and simply crafted them together and BOOM, I got all the new OC's day one
How the hell do you stockpile so much blanks in the first place? My max amount of them at the same time is like 3 and then it gets quickly eaten by those events while casually playing...
Just been playing since before game release. Beta, game preview then the game. So I had the overclocks years ago, so every week I keep getting more cores and nothing to spend them on.
If you play as scout, can you unlock scout weapon overclocks or only cosmetics? I've noticed when I'm scout, it's always cosmetics I have the option for and overclocks for the other classes.
Officially its random however many have had the same experience including myself. For some reason, whenever I play other classes, I always got the weapon overclocks for the class I wasn't playing.
Does this still work? It looks like the rate of them showing up has been reduced, and now also depends on the complexity. The same map seemed to reappear for salt deposits point extraction over and over when trying to grind
Sorry mate I've had the opposite experience. With a 25% chance of spawning out of 20 runs, you have a pretty decent chance of finding more. I think this was just bad luck because as long as your only spending 2 minutes per cave, this is the fastest way to find them. I will be putting a gameplay video doing this with 3 other scouts. Hopefully we don't have the same luck you did. Best of luck finding them mate✌ sorry it wasn't as bountiful as it should have been.

For me i got 5 but i was incredibly lucky, only time i didn't find one was the first try. there is always a chance you just won't find any, but this is still the fastest way to search for them.
@@TheLegendOfFLG I've done 15 extractions, 10 of them even with rich atmosphere so I could sweep the area faster and found ZERO events, I don't think this is worth it vs just doing haz 5 speedruns and also having fun.
All you should need is a blank matrix core, but may be worth trying out in case they changed something and I'm not aware of it🤔 If someone knows for sure please comment

I feel as though playing the game with standard progression is better for your personal experience as youll have more fun and it'll encourage you to try overclocks that arent "the best" :)
Well you have to in order to even obtain enough matrix cores to do this. So it's not like anyone can just start farming things without putting tons of time in. Nothing wrong with people wanting to use a specific build and finding the overclock they want to use.

I feel like too many people immediately look up the "best builds" and "best overclocks" for each weapon and write off the others as pointless. When you play the standard way you play with what you are given and it expands your options leading to a more fun experience :)

It's so stupid in a silly fun game like this. Especially when the devs have made so many different ways to play every class on top of the fact that this is an objective focused game, completing missions. Not pvp mentality.
I also agree with this 👍 If I made videos about the best build in drg, or the best perks in drg, my channel would be doing great right now like so many other channels are doing. But the very idea of "the best" in a pve game has always seemed silly to me. It also just feeds the ever growing number of fps players who only watch videos like that. Then they play deep rock and start trashing other people's builds. Not what the game is even made for. Deff not the same community it used to be. I'm trying to make it clear to people that I play several builds and complete EDD's with them. But those videos are not nearly as popular as a "best weapon" video. Which again, makes no sense to me at all. This is a fun, co-op game after all. Not a competive game.

This is a totally viable way of farming clocks, but it can make you burn out quite fast on DRG

Special powder can dramatically increase event search speed. With it I can consistently search length 3 Point extraction in ~3:00min

just finished unlocking 17 overclocks this way. Being too lazy to forge all those beards before now was a blessing and a curse.

With 20 runs you should of at the minimum had 5. So yeah they probably have a high chance of spawning.

What's the actual machine event found per hour doing this?
For me i got 5 but i was incredibly lucky, only time i didn't find one was the first try.
there is always a chance you just won't find any, but this is still the fastest way to search for them.
@@TheLegendOfFLG I've done 15 extractions, 10 of them even with rich atmosphere so I could sweep the area faster and found ZERO events, I don't think this is worth it vs just doing haz 5 speedruns and also having fun.

I would love to do this method but I am only level 24 and have only 1 or 2 matric cores at a time

All you should need is a blank matrix core, but may be worth trying out in case they changed something and I'm not aware of it🤔

Do refinery missions instead. Point extractions are no longer as large and open due to update.

Been seeing more n more toxic peeps in this game. They are usually call of duty rejects that can't play cod well so they come here and bring all that toxic cod energy here where it doesn't belong.
I feel as though playing the game with standard progression is better for your personal experience as youll have more fun and it'll encourage you to try overclocks that arent "the best" :)
Well you have to in order to even obtain enough matrix cores to do this. So it's not like anyone can just start farming things without putting tons of time in.
Nothing wrong with people wanting to use a specific build and finding the overclock they want to use.
@@whoknows4540 I think you're very right on your last statement, if you see something that looks like fun there's no shame in hunting for it. I feel like too many people immediately look up the "best builds" and "best overclocks" for each weapon and write off the others as pointless. When you play the standard way you play with what you are given and it expands your options leading to a more fun experience :)

I hate the meta talk in this game. The last wave of new players has brought so many fps ppl and bolstered so many "meta build" videos. It's so stupid in a silly fun game like this.
Especially when the devs have made so many different ways to play every class on top of the fact that this is an objective focused game, completing missions. Not pvp mentality.

If I made videos about the best build in drg, or the best perks in drg, my channel would be doing great right now like so many other channels are doing.
But the very idea of "the best" in a pve game has always seemed silly to me.
It also just feeds the ever growing number of fps players who only watch videos like that. Then they play deep rock and start trashing other people's builds.

I'm trying to make it clear to people that I play several builds and complete EDD's with them. But those videos are not nearly as popular as a "best weapon" video.
Which again, makes no sense to me at all. This is a fun, co-op game after all. Not a competive game.
