Thank you. I totally redid paragon and gear last night, thanked my mages and golem for their service, and jumped back into nightmare dungeons for new glyphs. I'm looking for a 2h scythe and I'm absolutely loving this. Looking forward to your continued refinements. Still using Black River; lvl 98 main game; starting pit today.
Still need to find and fine tune a couple of pieces but these changes alone very much boosted my dps. Thanks man for all your hard work on a playstyle I love. Now if I can work out a good blood spec on my other necro I'd be happy. I love the thought of blood based necro.
Blood Lance with every overpower and Lance aspect you can with the bloodbath pargon board being main goes hard probably not as strong as this but pretty fun (also aspect for blood orbs on corpse consumption with the sac ring)
I felt like a challenge so I respecced from minions to this with gear i had in my chests. I had rings and weapon with GAs of damage over time so gave them a go. Turns out it hits really hard but only on bosses once you build the stacks. Going to push on with this as I find this style of build less clunky than minion builds. Thank you for such a thorough build guide. Unfortunately the build planner link seemed to not work so i had to do it the hard way
I can't wait to switch over to this version of the build! Found an awesome Two-Hand Sword with GA DoT, Max int roll, enchanted to max damage, tempered max blight projectile % chance, and a mid shadow DoT roll! Just need to keep accumulating the rest of the gear.
I’ve watched this over and over again for a week and finally got the pieces needed to commit to the build.. so fun that I blasted past my normal workday bed time and now I’m dragging ass… worth it!!! 😂😂😂😂 Active Blight Necro, while darting around with triple dodge… feels like I’m a Blight Necro ninja 🥷
I respec my shadow minion to this blight build. It took alot of currency and resources but it was well worth it, because managed to clear my first pit 100. Thank you mate.
I am running the same build pretty much, except I swapped bone armor for iron maiden. Iron maiden gives me big stuns and helps alot with swarms. Double curse blight melt !
Didn't know about the +Damage % affix doing its job twice =) Great to see all info condensed, as usual. Torn between a Blight and a Bone Spirit build for a no minion (or low minion if you want + maximum Essence per minion for stronger spirits) Keep it up, you're the best!
that affix double dipping seems very much like a bug to me. imagine u have a 3 GA gear and opt for "damage" instead of shadow dot and then the dev fixes it. also, adding shadow dot can buff shadowblight damage. with large amount of shadow dot, the damage of the key passive isn't trivial.
@@ethanh9543yeah I agree, it definitely sounds like a bug. I might try to redo some gear now knowing that regular damage% is better, but I’m keeping all my shadow/DoT% in the stash just in case.
Good stuff. Running blight with minions only for utility/defense that's pretty comfortable running in the 90s. Goal for now is to get to the point of farming 90s.
Enjoyed the video. One thing I noticed... It is either Blight or All Minion Builds. I have yet to see Select Minion, Bone, and/or builds along the like. I meaning to be so critical there is just not alot of different approaches to builds. Even though a skill and stat passive pairing can unleash killer new build. Paragon point stringing, or stretching killing the build. Going more for the paragon grids that use grouping instead. Just a few thoughts I rarely/never speak my thoughts about this. Just was intrigued and thought I would throw 2 cents out. *edit*- added additional content to the comment. Sorry about the length.
I cleared an 87 with my blood surge build and no elixir. I feel like that was pretty good. Stretched thin though. I am sick of the minion meta, but haven’t touched blight yet
I must say, once again awesome build ! Also Im using resource generation on my rings... for my equips it resulted on better results (bad gear)... I using 20 essence, generating 21 per sec. with resource coast I was using 19 and generating 18... I dont know on high end gear if that would work better too, but worth the test if you didnt already (I doubt you didnt test this).
Im using pretty much the same but with skeletons instead of blood mist to keep the corpse production, damage and shadowblight stacks up while running/dodging.
I put the blood golem on instead of blood mist and it's just an insane level of survivability, metamorphosis on the boots solves the unstoppable anyways. The only real problem is corpse production against bosses, you really need resource affixes to be able to maintain damage against them
This looks really interesting. I was enjoying Blood Surge a lot until i ran into essence issues and low boss damage. Tried minions, but that is not for me. This is what i will try next. I'll start looking for the gear asap.
I'm a bit confused on his explanation of what/how is double-dipping? Are we using generic dmg for both dmg parts of blight? That has a direct dmg and dot so I don't get it, since generic darkness dmg is the same or more. Also, the bolts from EP neck are a 3sec dot, so wouldn't shadow dot affix be better than generic?
Your initial blight necro build has been my favorite so far this season and I'm planning to transition to this setup soon. What is your preference between tempering chance for blight to cast twice vs bone storm duration? I see you have the former here and the latter as an option in the build planner. Thanks!
To answer the why, it's because the CE portion gets tossed out the window to focus on Ebonpiercer damage, which can't Lucky Hit so you'd rather spam Blight faster for more damage.
I love seeing this my shadowblight proc build got me banned from the Sanctuary discord days after release because telling people building into crit on NEcro shadow Dot builds was breaching their misinformation rule has pretty much shaped the entire community and some of the best players for nearly 4 seasons.
I've been trying this but more focus on the DOT. Not impressed so far. I went and leveled a barb and now I'm back and ready to give it another shot. Going to focus on rolling plain damage and DOT.
Second comment: Blood Mist with corpse explosion is legit on this one. Don’t have Shako so that’s my replacement. Nice burst of damage for something I use anyway (blood mist).
Hey Mac - as a new subscriber, just wanted to say thanks for coming up with this build as I’m really enjoying it. Random q for you (somewhat related): I see a lot of conflicting info online Re:barrier generation as a choice for gear and figured you’d know the correct answer. Does barrier generation refer to an increase in total amount of barrier you can make, or is it an ability to regenerate your barrier more quickly after taking a hit to it?
So back to my first love. Spam blight with void and tentacles! I love this!! Awesome. Also When I put my lev 21 Revenge glyph in the first node I get 125% of the 20 damage and the bonus damage if the requirements are met..so it totals like just over 60 damage. I do not have this in front of me for the exact numbers but why is amplify better than boosting the rare node and it's additional damage if requirement's are met by 125%. Oh ya and it boosts your 10 intelligence you get for wither.
Its better to change tempering affix blight double cast to bone storm duration. bc blight damage is very lower than ebonpiercer damage and double cast only double blight projectile not ebonpiercer projectiles.
I feel like this is probably the right move but rolling for that temper with a 1 in 4 chance with 3 bricking stats makes me nervous to try. But getting 50% bone storm duration would he hugely helpful and definitely better than chance to cast projectike twice.
I’m working on blight version using shako, ebonpiercer, lidless wall, and doombringer rn the shadow damage and % max health from the doombringer is sweet so far
I mean Golem and Mage builds are just soooo much better every time I get tempted and switch I immediately regret it :-( I feel like the game is very good right now if you play like the top build for each class (except sorc) but if you play anything else you are underperforming so hard it's almost like self sabotage.
Hey Mac, I have a few random questions and you're possibly the only person that can answer any of them. 1. How does Bone Sprit interact with Imperfectly Balanced now that it's a core skill? (What is the drawback of using this passive since BS spends all ess, or does it actually work?) edit ^ you answered in the next video 2. Is Blood Drinker Glyph still glitched in that it doesn't work while in Blood Mist form? 3. The B-tier CE build on Maxroll that isn't published yet - are you writing that, and is it Plagued CE? 4. With no barrier and no shield, but with fortify up, I get "Absorbed" hit splats. What is that? 5. I get that Death's Defense is "not needed", but to clarify, if I'm maxed on armor and resistances, and my minions inherit all of this, can their armor and resistances go over the cap? Needed or not, will Death's Defense actually do anything if my defenses are capped? 6. Does attack speed influence number of volatile skeletons summoned during Army of the Dead? And probably more to come, lol. Thanks and I hope you have the time to respond.
Another great video, and with very quick turnaround. Thanks for posting this! I was already movinng this direction after your last video, so seeing where to fine-tune things is awesome. I have another (hopefully not dumb) question. Would the Ring of Starless skies 40% multiplier to damage plus essence reduction be worthwhile to free up some (or even to add to) some of the essence reduction rolls on other gear? Or is the attack speed loss and additive damage loss too high for this 40% multiplier to be worthwhile? Of course, that assumes I'm lucky enough to get my hands on one at some point.
Heya, just discovering your channel. Super videos. My most important endgame goal ist fashion though. So, what’s that sweet chest piece from? 😂 keep it up!
in the planner you have 2 different variants for the paragon board. which one are you playing with here or what is the significant difference between them?
@@jasonkeenan4154 appreciate your feedback. My thinking wasn't so much that it's required, but could free up some of the slots being used for resource gen/ resource cost reduction to be used for other affixes. Obviously you lose a legendary aspect and some ring stats, though. Also the 40% damage boost from starless aspect seems nice, too
Having trouble keeping bonestorm up anywhere near 100%...following your newest guide with osseos gale dropped - is that expected? That's even if I curse literally every enemy.
This setup is for pushing in high tier pit where monsters live long enough for you to get Decrepify procs. You must be fighting thing that die very fast? You may want to stay on the lower DPS setup, or learn to live without bone storm uptime.
I don't think the corpse tendril duration causing the pause before pulling them in is accurate. I don't have it on my gear and I noticed it's doing the same thing to me today. It's very annoying. I'm thinking it might be the size affix. What if the time it takes to grow out larger is causing the slow down? I'll test it when I can.
Have you tested with the two handed unique(Blood Seeker?) that turns darkness into a chilling effect that does up to 150% more damage to frozen enemies and restores essence? But i guess not as good since we can stack so much damage with tempering... But i was curious if it was good. I also figured shadow would be better than it is.
Hey, question… if you don’t care about corpse explosion dmg and your bone storm consumes corpses, why have it on your skill bar? Wouldn’t it be more efficient to replace it with Iron Maiden for additional curse dmg, (x) Dmg and essence regeneration?
Would you use the Uber unique Starless skies in this build? I am also 100% building this option because the 2 handed necromancer weapons look AMAZING I can't wait to get this build put together
So basically the plane damage, even if doesn’t boost the shodowblight passive as the damage over time, is a lot better? Interesting, I’ve seen your past video, but was still thinking that for that reason damage over time will be still useful. Anyway we need such legendary multiplicative node also for blood build, they are lacking to much from multiplicative staking sources compared to bone and shadow builds, and in general there are to many aspect that aren’t multiplicative for blood builds
I created this build for myself the start of this season because I was so impressed of the Ebonpiercer how fun the item is and it turned out not just fun but very effective at high end game too. Although I'll be honest I don't do nearly as much damage as you.. is it because I prioritized Intelligence and damage over time over raw % damage. Is raw % damage is the most effective stat overall for damage over time builds? Or even for a minion build?
Never mind I watched your previous video you explained it pretty clearly. It is crazy to me that a simple stat of +% damage(which is good for every build) is so much more useful than the specific damage over time one, it is a bummer.
In the linked guide you're ussing Retribution and Concussive Strikes aspects instead of Void and Osseous Gale. Any final thoughts on that? Otherwise a beautiful work as always.
I switched from minions to this a while ago after being bored with an afk minion build...lol My dot is currently at 760%. I'm just having a hard time with resource. Also, the game states that crit damage and ceit chance doesn't proc with dot. Will have to change to this para board as i am using your last blight board
Thank you for this, I do have questions though I don’t understand why everyone uses a 2 handed weapon. I kinda changed it and I’m using a wand and focus not as much damage but with extra lucky hit and cooldown with the focus bone storm stays up the whole time. I’m sure I’m doing it wrong but I can do 75 tier pit now with no problem and garbage gear
That's great for lower level pit. At higher pit tiers, monsters live long enough where you reset storm before the end of a fight and you need the extra damage.
I have been waiting for this, thank you very much :) Question on the weapon affix. You mention shadow damage over time on the affix - shouldnt that be just damage over time?
@@MacroBioBoi I came to thinking. For gloves, wouldn't a 45% damage greater affix be superior to the 4 ranks greater affix in blight, given the double dip?
I still struggle with Lilith and I have the dodging spikes down. I just cant dps her down past the 50% mark. All the adds get in the way and eventually I die from all the stacking debuffs. I am clearing now pit 67!
This his has been a lot of fun and a nice change from running my minion build. I've only just started masterworking but its already doing tons of damage. Just wanted to ask where you would fit the sacrilegous ring into it. I find it just must more convenient running it as I end up focusing too much on pressing corpse explosion/corpse tendrils/decripfy a lot. It's something I'm working on just wanted to know your thoughts on what ring you'd replace it with. Thanks for the build guide having an absolute blast on it so far.
I've noticed the corpse Tendrils lag, had on tone else notices a change in the sound it makes? Really seems like the sound and animation have been off since the patch.
Is the Ring of Starless Skies worth using as one of your rings or just stick with standard GA rings? I had a double GA Starless drop in Helltide last night and I am temped to use it... Thanks in advance for your advice!
I’m soo lucky and unlucky at the same time… I’ve farmed tormented Duriel less than 50x and already had 3 Ubers drop… but all three were melted heart ☠️
Thank you for the updated build.. Saw earlier today the video about "Damage" having twice the bonus and waited for this video from you. I have Gloves with GA on Blight and Ebonpiercer with GA on Damage reduction. I play on Hardcore.. Is this going to work with 1 Hand weapon with Shield? I'm a little bit afraid to use 2 Handed weapon.. Cheers!
I couldn't for the life of me figure out where I got 2 extra skillpoints from. Finally saw Mac had the two small nodes after corpse explosion. Are those two points needed there?
Just to clarify: You mention that a norm helm will be better but the updated guide says Shako and to "temporarily" use a normal helm. Is it still the case that we want a GA helm over Shako?
Hey Macro, been playing with this modified build off your build planner and really enjoying it but granted struggling some survivability. Had an X-Fal drop today and wanted to know whether decay or damned is safer to trade out or if Xfal is useful whatsoever
But if you increase the tendril duration doesn't that increase the crit strike chance and vulnerable duration as well on it? They can linger on the screen if so could careless about them sitting around longer as long as the stat boosts stay
Hi! Thanks for the guide! I have a few questions: I made respect from the neсro-summoner and everything is not bad from the point of view of clearing the pit, but the battle with the bosses from about level 80 does not work, they kill me faster. Can you make a detailed guide on killing bosses? I don't have damage tempering on the scythe, the blacksmith has already ruined the second one, how critical is it? I spent almost all the money to build this build and now I'm thinking
@@MacroBioBoi is there a certain point where Int can be sacrificed for health, like a number. Just curious as I get one hit by shadows during the boss in the 90s tiers, still need to masterwork better crits and try for more GA gear. Loving this build, it’s been a nice switch up from where I first started using it.
@@brianblazejak5030 You need to hit breakpoints every 60 intelligence. But more is always better. If you're personally dying, obviously focus on tankier stats but ideally damage is king as far as total survivability is considered. The shorter the fight, the less mechanics you need to dodge.
@@MacroBioBoi gotcha, I appreciate the responses a lot! When it comes to the pit, i struggle to get use out of slaughter and inner calm due to taking damage during the slay all portion but it makes sense for the boss. When it comes to inner calm I find myself moving due to the shadow attacks, but I see the appeal with the 30%X damage. Lastly, since I couldn’t find it anywhere else, when it comes to osseous it says up to 8 corpses, is each corpse that is consumed a base number of seconds and you receive the extra seconds based on the number of courses? Just curious because when my bone storm is up I’m obviously tankier, swapping between that and blood mist has been solid if it’s up enough. I do have the %increase to duration tempered as well. Sorry for the loads of questions, just cool that you actually respond and I can get this info from somebody very knowledgeable.
Shocked you don't have perfect roll from hardened bones. Also, I tried a similar build with the void aspect and Ebonpiercer but since Blight now pierces, the defiled areas are never where you intend them to be and it will pool them in far off distances (unless I'm missing something.)
Why not use vuln gems in weapon? It seems much better to me to socket vuln damage than damage over time, as damage over time goes into your normal bucket (which is already massively stacked). Unless I'm misunderstanding everything, your vuln bucket is almost empty.
Thank you. I totally redid paragon and gear last night, thanked my mages and golem for their service, and jumped back into nightmare dungeons for new glyphs. I'm not the expert like macro, but I'd say no, I've been mirroring his builds and essense is never an issue even spamming blight literally non stop.
@@jasonkeenan4154 appreciate your feedback. My thinking wasn't so much that it's required, but could free up some of the slots being used for resource gen/ resource cost reduction to be used for other affixes. Obviously you lose a legendary aspect and some ring stats, though. Also the 40% damage boost from starless aspect seems nice, too
Is there any way to squeeze in the sacrilegious ring I just love the auto cast 🤔
@@MacroBioBoi that's probably it. I added osseus back for now - will remove it when damage is needed again
You lose the double shadow blight damage with that route
Are there any ways to keep bone storm up 100%?
Hey, question… if you don’t care about corpse explosion dmg and your bone storm consumes corpses, why have it on your skill bar?
Wouldn’t it be more efficient to replace it with Iron Maiden for additional curse dmg, (x) Dmg and essence regeneration?
Do you have a new bloodlance build for this season? Great video as always.
Ah finally a Necro build I can roll with.
Would you use the Uber unique Starless skies in this build?
I am also 100% building this option because the 2 handed necromancer weapons look AMAZING I can't wait to get this build put together
I don't understand why increase the blight rank if most of the damage comes from ebonpiercer and not from the main missile of blight?
That's what's needed to push higher tier pit runs. Need the damage.
@@MacroBioBoi Thanks. Great work. No one like you out there making content about their class 😅
how do you "just have infinite Bone storm anyway?"??
Also what u think about starkless sky in this build?
I switched from minions to this a while ago after being bored with an afk minion build...lol My dot is currently at 760%. I'm just having a hard time with resource. Also, the game states that crit damage and ceit chance doesn't proc with dot. Will have to change to this para board as i am using your last blight board
I got a Tyrael's Might, I wonder if I could use it for this build. If so, which aspect would be the least painful to drop
Ill be damned - Guess gotta scrounge my chest for a new weapon :O!
They equal the same thing, but yes it's damage over time on the weapon.
@@MacroBioBoi I came to thinking. For gloves, wouldn't a 45% damage greater affix be superior to the 4 ranks greater affix in blight, given the double dip?
@@GoppleKing the increase of damage on blight itself is a significantly higher increase in your additive bucket
@@MacroBioBoi Thank you for taking your time to answer these "seem like a good idea but the stats-man always knows better" questions 🤪
None of its stats are good for blight, but if you don't have a better ring, you can use it.
I’m soo lucky and unlucky at the same time… I’ve farmed tormented Duriel less than 50x and already had 3 Ubers drop… but all three were melted heart ☠️
Is the guide going to be updated soon?
Oh btw, the title says 130 not 103? Nearly done with the build and just cleared my first 63. Going well so far!
Blight clears above tier 130 nowadays.
Hmm I hate the delay but love the incrase size for Tendrils. Currently running 100%
Corpse tendril size and duration are different tempers. Tendril size is perfectly fine to temper, no delay
@agularis_ thanks, I have one for duration too
after the recent patch, this is still the way to go? DAMAGE still better than DAMAGE OVER TIME?
Yep, things normally don't change unless they're specifically addressed.
Thank you for this! Is it ok to switch from pure minion build to this on my level 60 necro? this way I can start leveling up glyphs for it.
Does shadow damage over time or damage give more damage what if they fix the 2x scaling for damage won't all this gear become obsolete?
Thank you for the updated build.. Saw earlier today the video about "Damage" having twice the bonus and waited for this video from you. I have Gloves with GA on Blight and Ebonpiercer with GA on Damage reduction. I play on Hardcore.. Is this going to work with 1 Hand weapon with Shield? I'm a little bit afraid to use 2 Handed weapon.. Cheers!
Why a scythe when swords give more damage? I've never felt like I've noticed Life on Kill.
I couldn't for the life of me figure out where I got 2 extra skillpoints from. Finally saw Mac had the two small nodes after corpse explosion. Are those two points needed there?
Yes, very important.
Just to clarify:
You mention that a norm helm will be better but the updated guide says Shako and to "temporarily" use a normal helm.
You would not use X'Fal's on this build
just put perfect roll hardened bones on my resplendent spark farming alt at lvl 12 ;)
Hello, just to understand, what is the purpose of attack speed on this gear ? (for example on the ring, while we could have intel or dmg )
To cast your spells faster. Significantly higher DPS increase.
Is the last version of the paragon still available some place? It felt better for me. Thanks
But if you increase the tendril duration doesn't that increase the crit strike chance and vulnerable duration as well on it? They can linger on the screen if so could careless about them sitting around longer as long as the stat boosts stay
This does not change the aspect 's functionality. Also you don't want crit chance on a DoT build.
Loving the build but curious if a 2 handed sword will work or do I need the 2h scythe?
I'm not getting any 2h scythes to drop for me and I have a couple of decent 2h swords I can use until I get a scythe.
You always use what you have, while you grind for what you want
I spent almost all the money to build this build and now I'm thinking
ok, i found other items with damage affix but still can't kill 90 lvl bosses. Golem necro without any elixirs 100+ ez
If you had to choose between Starless Skies or Shako for this build which would you pick?
Starless skies
@@brianblazejak5030 every time it eats a corpse, you get 1 corpse worth of duration added, up to the maximum.
Shocked you don't have perfect roll from hardened bones. Also, I tried a similar build with the void aspect and Ebonpiercer but since Blight now pierces, the defiled areas are never where you intend them to be and it will pool them in far off distances (unless I'm missing something.)
Blight does not pierce, only the extra bolts do.
OH FUCK, I just got a triple GA blight/vuln/life gauntlet from blood maiden... I might actually switch for this.
Why not use vuln gems in weapon? It seems much better to me to socket vuln damage than damage over time, as damage over time goes into your normal bucket (which is already massively stacked). Unless I'm misunderstanding everything, your vuln bucket is almost empty.
There's only 1 additive bucket. There's no vuln or crit buckets anymore.
@@MacroBioBoi I see. That also explains the preposterous crit dmg bleed barb stacking. Thanks for the reply.
